## What is Keriton Kare Connect?

Having a baby in the neonatal ICU (NICU) is understandably one of the most frightening experiences for new parents, esp. the mother. Not only are you constantly worried about your little one's health, you are entrusted with providing the most important nutrient for your baby's growth - your breast milk. While breast feeding under the ideal circumstances is natural, breast pumping is not, more so given that you are physically disconnected from your baby.

Kare Mom is a HIPAA compliant app that will be your support system during this phase. From tracking your pumping sessions, to feeling engaged in your baby's care at the NICU, Kare Mom helps improve the safety and efficiency of the entire breast milk tracking process. The nurses at the NICU are working tirelessly to ensure the best bedside care for your baby; that, coupled with the superpowers of your breast milk can make all the difference in your baby's world.

We hope your baby is back with you at the earliest, do remember to take care of yourself as you navigate these difficult days. Talk to your nurses, doctors, family and friends. We are here for you too, whenever you need us.

Love,
The Keriton Team.

### 1/5 — Shaming moms for not pumping enough

*2024-01-12*

I used this app 3 years ago when my baby was in the NICU and it worked well enough—mostly I cherished the pictures the nurses sent.

But I just opened up the app again today, and was greeted by this message (took a screenshot but it doesn’t look like reviews allow photos). It said: “MOMMY, YOUR BABY NEEDS YOU. Babies thrive on breast milk. Every second you pump is a second less for your baby in the NICU.” As a mom who did pump for my NICU baby, I’m honestly disgusted by how this message shames moms who either choose not to pump, or do pump but feel like they’re not able to produce enough, or don’t pump as frequently because they have a job/other kids/a disability/who knows what other life circumstances that might make it challenging to maintain a schedule of pumping around the clock every 3 hours (which is what my hospital recommended). And adding the completely unsupported assertion that there’s some kind of 1 to 1 ratio of time you fail to pump that will keep your kid in the NICU longer feels like a cruel way to push already stressed and guilt-laden moms over the edge.

Please do better, Kare Connect.

### 4/5 — It’s good

*2023-07-25*

This app could be better if we are able to communicate with the nurses directly. We are able to message the lactation consultant but not the RN who is directly taking care of our child?
I do like the graph of your milk production, that is helpful to see how you are doing.

### 5/5 — This app saved me

*2023-06-10*

After waking up for a coma 19 days after my son was born at 29 weeks, this app was all I had since I missed out on his first 19 days and many more after as I recovered in a different location. The daily photo uploads of my son kept me going. I am forever grateful.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2023-03-03, version 9.1.0*

I used this app while my son was in the NICU and it was so helpful! The nurses sent us pictures and updates every morning and evening and made us feel looped in. Loved having it as an access point for communication and tracking.

### 5/5 — Lovee

*2022-04-14, version 9.0.10*

Nothing is better than getting pictures and positive updates from your NICU baby while you’re at home. You can get updates from the nurses too. This app was helpful for me when my baby was born premature at 32 weeks

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2021-05-11, version 9.0.4*

Very easy to use and a great app for a communication between parents and the hospital.

### 4/5 — GREAT APP

*2021-04-20, version 9.0.4*

Legit the best app ever!!’ I’m a first time mom and this app is a life saver!!! Only thing I dislike is that you have to log in every time instead of Face ID or Touch ID, and that it’s in military time. If they were to add setting to be able to pick what you wanted for those options this would be a 5 star app. But I’m rating it 4 because it lacks those two things I feel are extremely helpful.

### 3/5 — Great in theory, some features don’t work

*2020-08-17, version 9.0.3*

The overall idea and main features of this app are great. Tracking your milk output/inventory between you and your little one in the NICU. But some things are lacking. Reminders don’t work, no matter how you set them they don’t save. Also it is very annoying to have to input your password every time you open the app/every 3 hours or so. Should have an auto save/login option. Just some friendly UX pointers that you could improve on with this fantastic app idea!

### 4/5 — Good except for a couple small fixes!

*2020-05-03, version 9.0.2*

The app is decent. I like the trending and tracking the milk for my baby. However a couple things drive me mad. 1. No ability for face recognition password. Typing it in everytime is annoying. 2. App speed. It takes a bit to load and just moves a little slow. Otherwise it’s great... love the ability to get pics too!

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-09-24, version 8.0.0*

I’m a new mommy and having a baby in the NICU is so new to me and overwhelming but this app really help ease the worries. Receiving photos and able to chat with Lactation and keep track of your milk supply is so helpful.
