However there are a couple of issues that need addressing. The barcode scanner frequently crashes and closes the APP forcing a restart of the app and the test and also the “custom notes” seem very random as to whether or not they actually work or not. Overall though, this is a great app and very usable. Would be even better if the issues were addressed though. ### 3/5 — Support Required *2019-02-26, version 1.1.4* I’m really liking this app and I can see the benefits, but unfortunately when I’m trying to access the calendar settings and also trying to forward docs the app closes off and kicks me out every time, I’ve tried rebooting, deleting and reinstalling the app all to not avail, I can’t find anyway if contacting the developers and really hoping this issue gets sorted ASAP ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Very glitchy. *2025-04-29, version 1.2.3* App has the potential to be really useful however it is forever glitching, crashing and losing data. The downloadable reports need to look more professional and allow editing to incorporate more information. I wouldn’t unfortunately recommend the app of the Smart Pat tester because of it. For the price Kewtech you really need to provide better. I think people are better off paying more for the Seaward. ### 1/5 — Keyboard issues *2023-03-13, version 1.2.3* Tried using this app with an I-pad found it incredibly frustrating as it cuts the bottom of the keyboard off. It’s unusable for inputing data. ### 2/5 — Good software but needs improvements *2024-12-01, version 1.2.3* I’m running the software on iOS18.11 but every time I go to try and print on the kew80l it crashes and I have to start again please help and provide more updates ### 2/5 — Too unreliable *2023-03-21, version 1.2.3* I have recently bought into the Kewtech system but regretting it now. The app is so unstable (I use it on an iPad which is up to date). Twice now I have had to return to sites to retest as the app crashes and has to be uninstalled/reinstalled loosing all data. It seems backing up the data file throughout the day makes no difference as the backup file is lost in the process! ### 2/5 — Scanning *2022-04-18, version 1.2.3* Appliance id 001 is printed off with bar code. When using the app to scan Id 001 it adds an extra 1 to the id so now 0011. Needs to be sorted ASAP ### 2/5 — Bluetooth printer support woeful *2022-02-17, version 1.2.3* No way it seems to use any other printer than the KewTech … ### 2/5 — Good idea but app needs improvement *2021-12-12, version 1.2.3* Annoying when screen locks the app starts from home page and looses previously entered data and connection with printer. Also when you switch screens between different appd for example to send email this app seem to close itself and loose memory. Also every time you open the app it opens with one specific customer, not on for example choose customer for a new job or add customer for new job? Few changes would have made this app very good. ### 2/5 — Not all functions work *2021-02-25, version 1.2.3* Using a iPhone XR, app continuously shuts down on certain functions one being summery graphs, can’t choose all label types and when you select to print it crashes. Someone needs to look at all the bugs in the software. One massively annoying function is if you forget to connect to you printer, run a test and then press the print button it tells you no printer is connected which means you have to exit the test, connect to the printer and then re run your test. Highly annoying. ### 2/5 — Printer not working *2020-11-11, version 1.2.1* The app can’t find the KEW-80L printer, I’ve been told this is something that needs addressing with an update to support IOS14, and that the update is due, any idea when? ### 2/5 — Doesn’t support some phones *2019-05-04, version 1.1.4* After landing a large contract, I went out and bought a smartpat and downloaded the app but I’m a bit disappointed that several functions don’t work like the send files which just turns the app off or the scan function that’s non existent on the settings screen so can’t be used and the fact that I can’t record photos, also extra info doesn’t print in the email option letting the clients identify serial numbers etc. I’m running iPhone XR with latest download ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Excellent Support *2019-06-20, version 1.1.7* We have just switched to KewPat using it along side their PC software SimplyPats to modernise our outdated equipment and software from the 90’s! So far we are delighted with the performance and VERY impressed with telephone and email support... 5 stars from us... ### 5/5 — This could revolutionise PAT Testing *2018-08-20, version 1.1.3* A ground breaking app that could change the way PAT Testing is carried out ### 4/5 — Good app, needs something new *2025-03-07, version 1.2.3* Great app, use it day to day. Really need to sort the issue of crashing if you delete the existing/pre loaded smartPAT tests, it would be really nice to only have the tests I want and not forced to keep the ones I deem not necessary as it makes it feel slightly cluttered, it would also be nice if they could offer a way of linking the app together across multiple devices easier. ah also it would be great if you could add multiple RCD tests to 1 asset number much like the polarity tests it would make the test result much much tidier. However it would be good if they could: Add better integration with SimplyPats fields Add a class 3 / visual only option Add error log - spent ages trying to get it to connect to smartpat with no idea of why it wasn’t working. Ability to use photos at higher then 10% without iCloud. For example add OneDrive/Sharepoint storage locations. Add more fuse options - for example N/A ### 4/5 — Getting used to it but still needs some improvements *2021-12-11, version 1.2.3* I have been using it for a few weeks now and slowly getting used to it but I’m having the same issues some others have mentioned about the summary graphs causing the app to crash. It would also be nice to have a Class 3 appliance option to record just the visual inspection. ### 4/5 — Great app, few niggles *2021-07-07, version 1.2.3* Just started using the app and very easy to use. Really handy with pictures and barcodes being captured. Graphs button seems to shut the app down when pressed, this would be a great thing to sort assuming it’s the app and not IOS. Ability to post the results of a test to a webhook to instantly update asset management systems would open up a whole new market for these testers.
