It won’t pick up any sound and the mic is enabled. ### 3/5 — Works just fine *2021-03-03* It took some time to figure out the way the app runs, but it’s fairly easy to use and pretty accurate for musical purposes. Tbh, it’s suitable to use and have if you don’t have mixed in key. ### 2/5 — Not accurate *2020-10-22* I analyze all of my music with Mixed In Key and tested Mixvibes ageist their analysis (which is the best in the industry). Mixvibes was close, it was plus or minus 1 step consistently. If this is the only thing you use for key detection it will probably work fine, but it was disappointing in contrast with real key detection that relies on the actual files instead of the mic. ### 4/5 — Good but not for the lazy *2020-06-15* The poor reviews of this app had me very cautious. However, the app performs perfectly fine if you’re musical and have intuition and common sense. The app basically detects frequencies (such as 440Hz), assigns it a note name (e.g. A4) and suggests a key or chord (such as A Major). This is based on analysing multiple frequencies (eg recognising a chord/scale such as A C# E G# B D) If you know music and know what you’re doing, this app is fantastic. However, if you’re looking for an app to spoon feed you the key signature in a foolproof way, then the joke’s on you. ### 3/5 — Update *2020-04-04* Never been perfect but I could go with this app quite well. I like it because it is simple but it has started misbehaving recently. Regards ### 4/5 — It does work *2018-06-13* This is a very simplistic app, that for my limited application, really works. Keep in mind that I have only used it for electronic music on the Camelot key wheel. I finally have a way to get the key of the song off my vinyl records. In my experience it works best to turn the bass down and place your phone right in front of the speakers.
