The instructions on the insert that comes with the module lists commands and prompts that the app doesn’t have! The app bounces around, has touch buttons without a link (dead), and will lurch from one page to another without input. I eventually paired my keys without any idea - from the app - how that happened. I could never get the remote buttons to work. A mess. I paired both keys but the app says I paired 5! ### 3/5 — Worked, but be careful *2025-02-03, version 1.13* It worked for my 2014 Mazda6, but the app and help could be much clearer. My primary mistake was turning the entire car on (engine included, by pressing the brake) when it asked me to press the start button. I needed to press the start button without the brake. That turns on the car's electrical systems without the engine. I called technical support, who answered and told me to do that. Nowhere does it say that you can't mix OEM and non-OEM keys, but you can't. The OEM key I got from eBay did work. The non-OEM key I got from eBay didn't work, and now the car complains "Keyless System Inspection Required" when I turn it on. ### 3/5 — Needs better instructions *2025-02-03, version 1.13* There are several areas where the instructions were very poor. First it tells you to take all smart devices out of the car right when you are in the middle of the process on your smartphone. Then it tells you to click a button rapidly on the first remote. I would assume that that would mean the original otherwise an intelligent instructor would have said the first new remote which would be much clearer. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2025-01-05, version 1.11* Got the fob and ez installer. Downloaded the app and went into key pairing. Put in vehicle info and clicked on the fob. Get a message vehicle software version does not match, go to AppStore to obtain latest version. I have the latest version, does not work. Waste of time and money. Buyer beware. Hopefully I can get a refund!? ### 1/5 — Won’t work on IoS 18 *2025-01-04, version 1.11* Literally will not work for any make/model of car ### 1/5 — Honda not on latest version *2025-01-04, version 1.11* I have been dealing with this nonsense of a key pairing device. It will not detect any Honda. I have a Honda fit and tried by vin and model. Both say I need to update the app but I just downloaded it. I am likely returning this device asap and just going to Honda. I kept getting a “security access failed” error and there is nothing online for trouble shooting. Do better. ### 1/5 — App was unsuccessful at pairing key and remote *2026-02-08, version 1.14* App was undone to pair multiple keys and remotes, and blade key pairing did not work despite my following instructions and my vehicle being on the compatibility list on Car Keys Express’ website. A car Key Express agent had me try pairing the key and remote separately, which was not in the app or EZ installer instructions, and that was also unsuccessful. Ultimately the app and spare key and remote I ordered did nothing useful for me. It failed to connect to any of my vehicles. I tried a Honda, Mitsubishi, jeep, ford. It just fails to connect then forces you to write a review per attempt. I will be throwing this in the garbage, and just paying the extra money for a legit scanner/programmer like I should have in the first place. Starting to think I should’ve just bought an oem spare key ### 1/5 — Does not work *2025-03-15, version 1.13* I purchased a Car Keys Express Universal Smart Key that includes 6 button FOB and universal ez installer for my 2019 Suburban key. The ez installer program failed to pair my car to the FOB. Tech support was awful as they only know how to read a call script and have no working knowledge of the actual products . I had to pair the transponder key (physical cut key) and the buttons part of the fob in two passes. I was able to easily pair with the EZ Installer. The pairing instructions worked perfectly for me and I was able to pair 2 new keys without any issues in less than 5 minutes. I got 2 new keys for a couple hundred less than the cost of just one key at the stealership. The app has clear instructions on what to do and very easy to use without any trouble. Highly recommend buying it. The one to scan is on the tip of the plug, not the larger one on the back of the plug that takes you to the pairing instructions. Once I got it all set up, it acted like everything was working, but then said it failed to pair the key. Tried pairing a second time with the same error message. Unplugged the module and shut the car up. Just tried the new key and it worked perfectly, so it did pair properly, but the app didn’t detect it. In short, I have a new working key, so I am not complaining. ### 4/5 — It worked for me. *2025-06-16, version 1.13* I purchased a fob and key assembly for my 2018 Honda crv ex. The instructions were confusing for sure. They said install the ez installer app which I did. Wrong, that app just lets you buy more stuff and something about storing key info in the vault. Luckily iOS knew I didn’t have the correct app when I connected the CarKeys express OBD installer.
