### 3/5 — Lack of autocorrect

*2025-12-25, version 1.7.4*

A generally good app but its lack of autocorrect takes away whatever advantage a modofoed keyboard might provide.

### 4/5 — Great custom keyboard

*2025-08-24*

The app works perfectly.

One thing I would like to see would be adding separate keycaps for shift/no shift.

### 4/5 — Text Replacement

*2025-08-12, version 1.7.4*

Love this app but please add text replacement!! Not autocorrect, just the text replacement found in the Keyboard section of Settings…

### 3/5 — Select All + Copy Buttons

*2025-08-06*

This app is great! However it would be even better if you could add functionality for a quick select all button and copy button. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Good app, but

*2025-04-01*

Can you make an option to make keyboard keys more “squared”? The app is very customizable and the customization process feels very intuitive and easy… The keyboard feels almost as good as standard IOS keyboard, but the keys are too “round”. I will be very happy if there was an option to make them more squared, so they will take more space, just like in the default IOS keyboard. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Really good

*2025-01-17, version 1.7.4*

The best app, but there is no autocorrect, and you really need it. As well as the default cursor control. I would also like to add the ability to select some characters or letters from the context menu, like in the default keyboard.

Also there is a bug, if you write quickly with SHIFT pressed, the second letter can also become a capital letter.

Also I use haptic effect, I would like it to repeat when backspace is pressed, like in the default keyboard

### 5/5 — Cool!

*2024-10-14*

But it needs to be a bit more smooth

### 4/5 — Cool!

*2024-09-22*

Amazing app

### 4/5 — Awesome!

*2024-09-17, version 1.7.3*

love this app! its glitchy here and there, but it does what i need it to do. in the future id love to see themes!

### 5/5 — À essayer absolument

*2024-07-15*

Prenez le temps de configurer le clavier qui vous correspond le mieux grâce à la myriade de réglages offerts par le développeur, et vous vous demanderez comment vous faisiez avant !

### 4/5 — Isn’t working

*2024-04-15*

Finally able to make it work… took forever to figure out how to add the keyboard. Still figuring out the app now… trying to figure out how to remove the shift function all together

### 5/5 — Feature request: 3D press support

*2024-02-24*

It would be nice if a 3D press option could be added to have more than just upper and lowercase letters for a single key.

Also, maybe in the future support for moving the cursor forward and backward words similar to vim would be cool to see. And auto correction if that is possible because it doesn’t work on mine.

Thanks

### 5/5 — App works wonderfully

*2024-01-11*

App does everything it says it does and more but I wish the sga symbols where included

### 1/5 — Worst 4$ ever spent

*2026-06-21, version 1.7.4*

Extremely buggy, edit one key on caps side and it also changes the lower caps. Same for symbols. No way to make it do what you want. Also no autocorrect or languages.

### 1/5 — WARNING!! DO NOT PURCHASE!

*2025-11-07*

This app is garbage. It is not intuitive and there are no instructions on how to use it, other than what is shown in the above screenshot that shows the title “Getting Started”. I just wanted to create a simple numeric keyboard with a squarish layout. If that is possible, I can’t figure it out – and I’m usually good at figuring things out, particularly with navigating my way around iPhone apps.

The interface is terrible. There are a few templates to choose from (as shown in the screenshots above), which are all very similar and basic. I’m sure it’s possible, but I can’t even work out how to add basic numeric keys to the keyboard. When I try to edit one of the templates, the app crashes every time I delete a key.

Attempting to contact the developer is useless. The only link directs you to a social media page on a platform I’ve never heard of. Maybe it’s popular, I wouldn’t know as I don’t use social media and have no intention of signing up to one to contact the developer.

Also, some of the features advertised (such as haptic feedback and input clicks) are not accessible unless you go into settings and allow the app to have FULL KEYBOARD ACCESS, which, when you grant it, you are presented with this warning:

“Full access allows the developer of this keyboard to transmit anything
you type, including things you have previously typed with this keyboard.
This could include sensitive information such as your credit card
number or street address.”

Thanks, but NO THANKS!!

App deleted…

### 1/5 — Kein deutsches Neo Keybuild

*2025-08-15*

Kein deutsches Neo Keybuild mehr auf der Homepage verfügbar

### 1/5 — No Help

*2025-03-12*

There's no guidance within the app to help you use all the features, so I unless you already know how to use this, it's useless.

### 1/5 — This app really needs to have instructions

*2024-09-21, version 1.7.3*

Couldn’t figure out how to use Unicode to customize a keyboard AT ALL. Would it hurt to put ANYTHING about how to use this app?

### 1/5 — Isn’t working

*2024-04-13*

I paid for the app and it’s not showing up in my app list in settings for me to be able to enable permissions. Can’t use… tried to reach out to support but the Twitter is no longer available

### 1/5 — Impossible to add keyboard.

*2021-11-28*

Not listed in third party keyboards. No direct access to support in app. Just useless for now. Maybe it’s my personal problem. But be aware.

### 2/5 — Warning: no autocorrect

*2025-08-16*

I was really excited to find an app that let me customize the size of the keys. I set up my new keyboard and was all ready to go, then started using it and found it doesn’t have autocorrect. It is unusable without it for me.

### 2/5 — Customizability questions

*2023-09-21, version 1.7.3*

Does the app support swipe typing, auto corrections? iPad default layout doesn’t seem to support basic extra features like those

### 2/5 — Works, but I don’t use it at all …

*2023-03-19, version 1.7.3*

… because this does not allow slide-to-type

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Absolutely unreal. The best 4 dollars I've ever used on an iOS app.

*2026-07-04*

I have literally been stranded with just an iPad for nearly two years. (My dog is terrified of keyboard sounds.) In that time, I've written over 250,000 words on a single project on this device, almost entirely in Obsidian. I have made 1,001 Templater, Note Toolbar, and Commander scripts...desperately trying to give myself a working environment that doesn't leave me in posture agony for days. I had looked for an app solution so many times, as when I downloaded and used the IPA Keyboard, I saw that creative keyboard designs were at least possible. And I never found one that seemed even remotely capable of suiting my needs. I wasted so much time javascripting when I could have just had this....

My life is completely and unabashedly more tolerable due to the customizability provided by this app.

I'm building my dream keyboard specifically for markdown use as we speak. Single press triple backticks? Do you know how long it took me to physically type just one on the native keyboard? About 1.5 seconds, FOR ONE KEYSTROKE. (You have to be in Shift mode, then hold down the ' for at least a half second, and then you get your one adorable backtick...)

If you have a place people share their keyboards,mI'll post mine when I'm done.

Thank you sooooooo much, compañero!

YOU WILL BE RECEIVING A THANK YOU ON MY NOVEL'S DEDICATION PAGE, I'M NOT KIDDING!

### 5/5 — Very Satisfied

*2026-05-12*

This is everything that i wanted from a keyboard making app! This is perfect for creating keyboards using unconventional unicode symbols, has for sure been worth the cost!

only suggestion is perhaps making switching layouts more smoother, kinda like having the symbols button on the default IOS one, maybe it can be like a secondary caps lock function-wise.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-04-11, version 1.7.4*

Please add replacement of a string of characters for another

### 5/5 — The best but not perfect

*2025-04-04*

Adjusting key shape/colour would be great. Keys tend to be slightly different shaped to ios default and it would be cool to be able to tweak those things to get a more native feel. Most native feeling 3rd party keyboard though.

### 5/5 — Exactly the keyboard maker I’ve been looking for! One small feature request.

*2025-04-01*

So, I’m a dead language enthusiast. I love me a good dead language. Old English, Old Norse, Latin, Phoenician, Gothic… if it’s dead and sounds cool, it’s a language I want to learn.

Unfortunately, this manages to come back on me sometimes. You see, I’m a Christian. I’m trying to learn Biblical Hebrew, Biblical Aramaic, and Koine Greek to read the Bible in its original languages. It’s Greek that’s causing me issues.

See, iOS doesn’t have a native polytonic Greek keyboard. So I figured that I’d build my own using Keybuild. I used Unicode combining characters for diacritical marks. Unfortunately, rather than stacking the characters, it simply placed them next to each other. Here’s an example:

Desired outcome: A diaereses stacked on top of an alpha.

What happens: ά̈

This isn’t how the character is supposed to look. I did, however, discover that Unicode actually has built in Greek characters (like “ἆ”), but including all of those as separate characters would clutter up the keyboard. So, I’d like to request one of two features (or both, if you’ve got the time, but please don’t feel pressured to implement them):

1. Better rendering support for combining Unicode characters so they stack rather than get squished next to each other (not sure if this is possible, but it’d be cool if it did.)

2. A hold-down feature in which you can select from multiple different version of the same character, like how holding down “a” on the default iOS English keyboard gets you options such as æ, ã, and å. You already kind of have this with the long-press feature, but as far as I know, that only allows one character rather than multiple.

All that said, this is a really good app, and I look forward to seeing what else you do with it! God bless!

### 5/5 — First impressions: Pretty Good!

*2025-03-16*

I got this app because I sometimes want to type in Runic, but even most Unicode keyboards I could find didn't have runes, so I decided it would probably be worth the four dollars to be able to make my own keyboard so I can type in Runic super quickly. I can now say that it was a success. The editor was a little confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple. I'll probably be making more keyboards than just the one, and I haven't tried the entire functionality yet, but this app is exactly what I've been wanting!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! I love to hear how my app is helping people. 😊

The editor being confusing is something I’m aware of… I’d love the chance to go back and revisit someday, maybe add in drag & drop at least, but life can get in the way. At lot more is possible with the tools I used now, compared to when I made the original editor. When the time is right, I hope to make any editor improvements a free update for existing users!

### 5/5 — Cool!

*2025-01-04, version 1.7.4*

Can you make the text appear smaller on the spacebar?

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-11-21*

Thanks Dev. This virtually solves the problem of the iPhone keyboard! Very grateful. Has all the features I need.

### 5/5 — I love it! Adding some features will make it more functional.

*2024-11-16*

I love this keyboard-building app; it’s so close to what I was looking for. However, with three additional features, it could become nearly perfect for me:
	1.	Expanded Key Options on Press and Hold: Similar to the standard iPhone English keyboard, it would be great if pressing and holding a key offered multiple variations of that letter. For example, when you hold the “e” key on an iPhone, you can choose from about 10 variations of the letter.
	2.	RTL Keyboard Auto Alignment: The app currently lacks support for automatic paragraph alignment for right-to-left (RTL) languages. On the native iPhone keyboard, when you switch to an RTL language such as Hebrew, Arabic, or Persian, the typing cursor automatically shifts to the right side of the screen without requiring manual adjustments to the text direction in formatting options.
	3.	Adjustable Key Font Size: Currently, the font size on the keys adjusts automatically. However, it would be amazing if users could manually adjust the font size to make it larger or smaller. Personally, I often find the need to make the font slightly bigger for better visibility.

Adding these features would make the app not only more functional but also more user-friendly for a wider range of users.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2024-10-27*

This app is flawless. I have tried many other custom Unicode keyboards, and this is the best, hands down.
