### 5/5 — Best Strength Tracker hands down

*2024-10-29*

I’ve been using this app for 3-4 years at this point. I’ve tried other apps but this one is always my benchmark. I’ve used it for stronglifts, 5/3/1 variants, made my own routines, etc.

It’s straightforward, easy to use, and it will auto calculate your next workouts weights based on your training maxes, which is something I have found other apps lack. It also has all the pretty graphs you could possibly want.

The pro version is worth every dollar. I really do love this app.

### 5/5 — Great app, great developer

*2024-10-21*

This app is amazing for tracking progress. My favorite feature is that you can set it to automatically adjust your max training weight after every workout, that way you’re always progressing without having to calculate your own weights. The app support is also phenomenal, the developer is very responsive and helpful in creating new features and fixing bugs as they pop up

### 5/5 — Excellent App and support

*2024-09-04, version 5.10.9*

I’ve been using KeyLifts for 3 years now. It was amazing 3 years ago and has only gotten better with each update. Zero issues with app performance and I love the ability to create my own templates. It’s fantastic for 5/3/1, ilbut not limited to that in anyway. Jimmy is also very responsive on support issues. If I could give 10 stars I would.

### 5/5 — Best 5/3/1 App

*2024-08-19*

Don’t be turned off by the overall rating of thsj app. I think it suffered from negative reviews in the early days. I gave all the top 5/3/1 apps a try and this one is the most polished and feature rich. It handles all the calculations, provides customizable plate math, has every template imaginable, great Apple Watch interface…everything I was looking for to let me focus on my workout instead of record keeping. Try the free workouts and then just pay for the app. The dev has done an incredible job.

### 5/5 — Best Workout App

*2024-07-22, version 5.10.9*

Automatically increases weights as you improve, shows you the weights to put on each side, and shows timers for each sets. You can also use an Apple Watch to check off each set. It’s such an amazing app that’s made by just one guy, I appreciate this app!

### 5/5 — So Good That I’ll Write a Review

*2024-07-16*

I never leave reviews on apps but this one truly deserves a 5-star.

This app has simplified (and gamified) my 5/3/1 workouts, and made it easy to track data about my strength over time. The app automatically calculates my 1-rep-maxes across all primary lifts, and displays them in graphs and charts in your ‘Profile’ tab. The graphs really motivate me since I can clearly see myself getting stronger over time.

Shoutout to the developer, too. I reported a bug within the app and they responded the next day saying they’ll fix the bug in the next release. Love that they’re constantly improving the app, instead of abandoning it.

### 5/5 — Great lifting App

*2024-06-16, version 5.10.4*

Lots of features with built in workouts and customization for any program. The developer actually responded to my email. He keeps adding features and it’s only gotten better over the years I have been using it. My wife uses it and doesn’t follow any 5/3/1 but is able to make her programs the way she wants. Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — Excellent Workout App

*2024-05-21, version 5.10.0*

Easy to use for a beginner.

### 5/5 — Greatest app ever!

*2024-05-11, version 5.9.1*

I was skeptical about purchasing this app because I’ve used used five different 531 apps., on the most part they were limited to very few templates and each had some type of flaw. After trying this app for a week, I signed up for the yearly rate., that is how pleased I am using this app. This app was well researched and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2024-05-04, version 5.9.1*

Love all the data and the format flexibility.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app to organize and track your workout data

*2024-05-03, version 5.9.0*

This app is amazing! I use it to organize and track my workouts, weight, etc. it’s very easy to use, and it even works on the Apple Watch too. The app developer is always updating things, and communicating promptly and clearly with the users.

### 5/5 — perfect

*2024-04-21, version 5.8.4*

I went from Strong and using spreadsheets to calculate my 5/3/1 weights to trying other apps like persist / perseus and 5/3/1 strength to do those calculations for me but was never satisfied.

keylift is the first app that has all of the features i want and i just bought the lifetime sub. I am surprised it took me so long to stumble upon this gem.

### 5/5 — The app I was looking for

*2024-03-11, version 5.7.1*

I wanted a 5/3/1 capable app with ability to make adjustments with t1 and t2. This is the app I was looking for. 4 free workouts is enough to trial it and I will be using the pro version. Keep up the good work devs

### 5/5 — Does all I need.

*2024-02-24, version 5.7.0*

Auto Increments, built-in Templates, responsive developer and a good Watch app - all in one solution for my lifting problems. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2024-02-13, version 5.5.0*

Best app on the store. Constantly updated. Great features.

### 5/5 — Super flexible lifting tracking app

*2024-02-12, version 5.5.0*

I’ve been using this app for a year. It’s very good. It’s flexible enough you can use it even if you don’t run a typical 5/3/1. I tend to rotate in and out of 5/3/1 style training but I can do everything in the app. Support is also very responsive and new features come frequently. 5/5!

### 5/5 — Excellent App!

*2024-02-07, version 5.4.1*

Excellent App! Great job and thank you for the years of support and improvements.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poorly Designed App

*2025-01-07, version 5.12.3*

So many strange quirks, weights reset whenever they please, excel sheet is more effective and efficient. Would be 5 stars if it worked with any consistency. Should not charge money for this.

### 1/5 — Broken and no help with fixing it

*2024-11-29, version 5.11.11*

Been using for years, but the newest update totally borked it.
Do not get this until
Fixed and certainly don’t pay for it.

### 1/5 — Sucks that your forced to buy it now

*2023-09-01, version 4.17.0*

I put at least 40 different students onto this app, so they can use it and honestly it was great. But the problem is not everyone has the money to spend on such a app. It would be better if there was a donation function instead of a subscription, would get alot more traffic and would probably make more. $100+ for a lifetime subscription, no thanks. There’s plenty of other apps just as good for 4.99.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-02-09, version 3.7.0*

I’m a paid sub and all of a sudden I can’t add new cycles at all. Just doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2021-08-01*

This app would be awesome if it would work like it was designed to. A complete waste of money but mostly a waste of valuable time. Sometimes I can’t start or finish a session or add an exercise. I haven’t been able to update my weight for a couple of weeks now. I have to delete and reload the app regularly to get it to work properly. And this last time I lost all my data even though I had it set up to back up to the cloud. I have a tight schedule and don’t have time to always be trouble shooting technical issues. My old 531 app was very simple - not a whole lot of customization available, but at least it worked! I will be going back to it. I have had it for a while with no problems. Too bad - because this app layout and features are awesome when it works. It’s just to unreliable. I won’t be renewing my subscription! Don’t waste your money if you don’t have time for troubleshooting on a regular basis!

### 1/5 — Didn’t tell you

*2020-11-28, version 2.3.2*

Doesn’t give you your percentage you have o do the math yourself. Kinda pointless

### 2/5 — Suddenly need a subscription

*2023-08-29, version 4.16.1*

The app was honestly great before it suddenly required a subscription to log more than 4 workouts. I had months of training logged and one day I was greeted with a locked button to start a workout. When I looked into it, I found out I was now being asked to subscribe or else the app itself will not allow me to use it.

This is quite inconvenient since I purchased the app without this issue, and suddenly can no longer use it without purchasing a subscription…

### 2/5 — Constantly crashing

*2022-11-12, version 4.6.0*

There is nothing worse then the app crashing on the last day of a 5 week cycle. Can't believe I paid money for this experience. Zero response from Customer support was also very disappointing

### 2/5 — No Custom Main Exercises

*2019-12-21, version 1.62.1*

I’m looking for an app where I can create a 5/3/1 two day plan with two main exercises each day. My main exercises are different than the standard Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press, and Press. This only allows you to choose those standard exercises as your main exercises, so it’s useless to me.

### 3/5 — Annoying on Apple Watch

*2024-04-15, version 5.8.3*

I like to use my Apple Watch when logging in my workout however the main screen always automatically shows the workouts which I find really annoying. I need my main screen on my watch showing the time date and other info I want not my next work out. And as of rn the only fix is uninstalling it…

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This app is probably the best lifting log out there

*2026-07-05*

I’ve been using it almost since day one, back when it was focused purely on 5/3/1. Since then, it's evolved into something even more powerful and flexible. What really speaks to me is how it keeps that clean, intuitive interface and that cult-classic “BigLifts2” vibe. What sets this app apart is how it adapts to you - the customization and the thoughtfulness behind every screen. It's obvious this is built by someone who actually lifts. So a huge shout-out to Jimmy C., the developer, who was kind enough to extend my Pro year when I reached out through Support, since my country is currently cut off from App Store payments. I was really surprised this app has so few ratings - it definitely deserves more recognition for its user-first approach. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great App for 531 and more

*2026-03-04*

I’ve had this app for quite some time. I’m extremely happy with the lifetime subscription purchase. This app has been so useful. There’s many little additions that make it top tier. Also if you learn and understand the app, there’s so many possibilities for creating your own program.
I highly recommend KeyLifts, even if you’re on the fence with 531, due to the possibilities of program building.
Last great point is to this day the app is continuously being updated. I just submitted a ticket for a bug and had an email back in less than an hour.
Highly highly recommend! Buy the subscription too and the lifetime if available. It’s more than worth it!!!

### 5/5 — Essential of 5/3/1

*2025-11-21, version 5.17.0*

Fantastic and powerful app! Having the level of tracking has helped me, an advanced intermediate, finally get over certain strength humps. It doesn’t look incredibly sexy, but neither does Excel and we all know how powerful that tool is.

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-07-29, version 5.16.4*

Good app. Does everything i want in an app well. Has the right programs and ease of changing things to suit is awesome. Plus i reported a bug and it was sorted within 24 hours. Nice

### 5/5 — Such a great app

*2025-07-03, version 5.16.1*

Used it for the trial and bought the lifetime subscription straight after. The only app that fit exactly what I was after and is continuously being improved, thanks Jimmy!

### 5/5 — Best Lifting App Period

*2025-05-20, version 5.14.9*

Look no further. Has everything you could ask for and endless customization. Dev is extremely helpful and responsive, fixes any bugs that pop up quickly. No more spreadsheets and logbooks, just enter everything right on your phone.

### 5/5 — Incredible App for tracking numbers

*2025-04-11, version 5.14.4*

Best workout app I’ve ever used. It’s constantly being updated with new features and UI improvements. Easy to add your own routines and exercises, and tracks everything. This is the only app I’ve ever felt a need to review because it’s that good at what it does.

### 5/5 — 2025 FERRARI OF 5/3/1!

*2025-02-14*

You have never seen anything like this before! The inexplicable amount of time invested into this work of “software art”, and the unmistakable passion for the 5/3/1 philosophy become obvious as soon as you open the app! That alone justifies the price of the subscription in a heartbeat! Silky smooth, intuitive and outstandingly reliable- the app is a “delicious” bite from the App Store’s kitchen! The meticulously structured 110 templates would make Jim Wendler happy! Everything works: counts, combines, remembers! A few years ago, when the app was a little baby 👶 , making the first timid steps, some impatient, unhappy people left the undeserved one-Star reviews! Today, a Super-Smart Kid, the App will show a stunning performance that is Superior to any competition! Do you want the Encyclopedia of 5/3/1 in your pocket? Do you want to experience the sensational support from the developer? Then- go for it! You will not be disappointed! To the Developers: Extremely well done! Outstanding! Bravo!!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the kind review!!

### 5/5 — The best!

*2024-11-12, version 5.11.4*

Hands down the best workout app. I’ve tried many and haven’t even thought about another app since I got this one. Don’t cheat yourself get the lifetime membership. The owner of this app is the man! Super responsive, and really cares about his product.

### 5/5 — Best App for Program Development / 531

*2024-11-08, version 5.11.0*

If you are looking for an app to design a weight lifting program this is it. I’ve tried many different apps over the years: Strong, Strength Log, StrongLifts, 531 Strength, Boostcamp. This one works the best for me. Especially if you like to use a % based program. Many of the apps that I tried don’t have that feature. This app does plus a training max.

If you like 531 this is a no brainer.

Easy to make programs, easy to log in the gym, so many features that track your progress. Very polished and rich app.

I’d recommend anyone to try it for a week (free trial). Best part about it is it has a lifetime purchase option. After the week of using it I immediately bought the lifetime.
