### 4/5 — Fantastic when it works

*2026-03-26, version 2.0*

I don’t even attempt to use this when other instruments are involved as it seems to become confused. Most of the time it’s great but occasionally it doesn’t turn the page and if you have to turn manually it stops turning entirely. So 4 stars for working most of the time.

### 4/5 — Excellent scanner

*2026-03-05, version 2.0*

The ability to dynamicaly correct scanned images and straighten the staves before creating a pdf is superb.
This combined with easy transfer to other apps or storage makes this my go to sheet music scanner.
The apps ability though to auto turn pages is not reliable enough.
It would be a big improvement if a midi control of page turning was built in which allowed any midi signal to be a page turning event.

### 5/5 — Amazingly rich feature set for free app

*2024-06-24, version 1.8.20*

Downloaded this to pair with a cheap Bluetooth page turner I bought on AliExpress.

The scanning function does a better job with sheet music than any other app I’ve tried. I just shoot each page right on my music stand, in ordinary room light, and the app straightens and formats it beautifully.

When viewing music in portrait mode, a click of my page turner reveals the top of the next page while leaving the bottom half of the current page still visible. With the next click, the rest of the next page fills in. In other words, you can glance ahead to the start of the next page without missing a beat.

Adding notes is pretty straightforward, either with your iPad’s keyboard or freehand with a stylus. I make my notes in bright red.

Oh, and if that weren’t enough, there's a built-in tuner and metronome.

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2024-05-20, version 1.8.20*

Bravo!

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2024-03-27, version 1.8.20*

For this wonderful app

### 5/5 — What a brilliant app

*2024-01-20, version 1.8.20*

Got to say this app is simply brilliant. Only found it after going to a professional piano recital and seeing the pianists pages flying across. I though that was exactly what I wanted after trying to flick through pages in acrobat whilst playing. Yes I gave that a miss but this is a gift and I am sure it will transform my playing. Still think it’s magic the way it knows where I am in the score. 👍🏻😁

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-01-07, version 1.8.20*

I am totally baffled that this is not the #1 sheet music app out there. All musicians should totally try this - it is way better than anything else I have seen on the AppStore, including all paid apps that I tried (and I tried a lot).

The automatic tracking is pure magic (playing piano, have not tried other instruments) and works flawlessly for me every time - even if you make mistakes. It is truly as good as having a person standing next to you and turning pages. This is clearly superior to apps that let you „wink“, advance automatically with time, or turn pages with an external pedal. The app even records your playing (using the built-in mic of the iPad) and library management is well done. You can annotate your scores with the Apple Pencil. It is trivial to add PDF scores (or take pictures of paper scores) and set up automatic tracking with the press of a button within a few seconds for any score that I tried. And all this is free!

### 5/5 — Fantastic when it works

*2023-12-06, version 1.8.20*

As a disclaimer, I have only been using this app for a week. My goal is to have it turn my pages for organ, music and choral accompaniments. Last week with a standard choral anthem, the page turning was perfect. However, I am working on a piece that includes a score with two violins, 4 vocal parts plus piano. At first everything seemed fine, but now it is turning pages almost at will. I have reset several times as the YouTube video suggested, to no avail. If anyone can make a suggestion as to how to correct this issue, please do so.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-11-22, version 1.8.20*

I was recently advised to invest in a paid for program.. it works but clunkier than KeyScore.. the scan option is so much better than anything else!

### 4/5 — Key Score

*2023-11-09, version 1.8.20*

Like it so far , I haven’t tried all the utilities yet. It would be nice if there was a way to watch UTube videos.

### 5/5 — Ich liebs

*2023-08-30, version 1.8.20*

Danke. 5 Sterne verdient

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — KeyScore Has Gone Downhill

*2026-03-12, version 2.0*

It has reached the point that the program is not useable. I put together a set list and save it. Then I go to open that set list and the app closes completely. The app is not useable anymore. This has been going on for many months. The error self generates error codes I have forwarded to the developer and also written notes. I must have forwarded 50 to 100 error codes and the developer doesn’t reply. I am past frustrating and upset that I have wasted the time and energy the past 4 years putting my music in to this app.

### 1/5 — Recover Deleted Scores

*2026-01-27, version 2.0*

Hi, is there a way to recover deleted scores?

### 1/5 — Developers have dropped support!

*2025-12-19, version 2.0*

They have let it go. No responses to emails, no updates. Program used to be great now is a big hassle. Until developers start responding, leave the app alone!

### 1/5 — Great concept, Terrible execution

*2025-10-31, version 2.0*

I gave a piano recital 3 years ago using the app and it worked great. The Timberlabs guy was so helpful. Today, I can only upload one page at a time and there is no customer service…no replies to email. What was loaded previously works but cannot get anything new uploaded. Shame really.

### 1/5 — Automatisches Blättern könnte so schön sein…

*2025-07-25, version 1.8.20*

Edit. Sehr schade, dass es keine Antwort gibt. Offenbar möchte man nur lesen, was funktioniert.

### 1/5 — Worried

*2022-02-13*

I like it so much that I am worried that I won’t be able to transfer it if my iPad crashed. The pictures I’ve taken of sheet music and songs involves much work. How will I transfer all the PDF files to a new iPad and get them to show up on KeyScore (?) -which I will most definitely download and use again and again.

**Developer response:** Thanks for posting. We’re glad to hear you like it that much! It makes sense that you would want to keep all the scores you have scanned even if your iPad had a problem. There are two ways to recover your KeyScore library in such an event. An iCloud Backup of your iPad will allow you to recover all of your apps, including your KeyScore Library, if you “restore from backup” when setting up a new iPad. Alternatively, you can create backup of your KeyScore Library and store it somewhere like iCloud or Google Drive. This is done by tapping the gear icon when you’re viewing your library, then tap "About" and then “Backup Library”. Contact us directly if you would like assistance with this, have other questions, or have feedback. We’re always happy to help. Contact us through the app by tapping the “?” icon and then tapping “Contact”. Or, email us at keyscore2022@gmail.com.

### 2/5 — Used to be awesome

*2025-10-02, version 2.0*

No longer imports score to iPad. Can’t get the rest of my parts to a new iPad. They go to files but when I try to send to KeyScore nothing happens. This is so frustrating. And, it is the second issue I’ve had since the update and have gotten no response to my emails. I hope these problems can be ironed out but for now, I’m back to paper. Have reloaded Unreal Book but I don’t want to have to rescan all my music to get it on there. Please provide some solutions!! Thank you.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2025-09-30, version 2.0*

The newest version does *not import scores from email and photos without turning my newer iPad (18.6.2, 10th generation) off and on again. My old iPad (17.6.1, 8th generation) doesn’t seem to have this problem. In sessions, I like to put new scores in KeyScore immediately so as not to concern myself with the task later. I’ll keep trying and report when hopefully this changes but for now, only two stars for this backward step. Also, I’ve emailed this issue to KeyScore and unless I missed a reply, have not heard back.

### 3/5 — Disappointing V2

*2025-12-11, version 2.0*

When I discovered Keyscore a couple of years back, it was a godsent gift. Being a church organist, I no longer had to carry loads of large music scores. I have over 250 scores in Keyscore. Keyscore worked most of the time. Then V2 arrived, with its jumping staves, it’s delayed repeats, it’s lower sensitivity to soft organ sounds and it’s unpredictability. E-mailed the developers twice, with no response. I use it mainly for one page scores nowadays.

### 3/5 — Nice app but a bit clunky

*2024-05-23, version 1.8.20*

It has many features and functions like creating a chord chart set list such as rearranging page orders and creating scores from JPEGs. I would rate it higher if it can actually fix it’s pdf exporting function, which is the crux of the matter for me.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2026-03-07, version 2.0*

This is a great app for reading and importing music. Excellent features. Very happy to pay for this app.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-02-22, version 2.0*

I am not a professional musician. I play in the local community orchestra as well as a summer wind ensemble. I was tired of constantly losing pages or not being able to write on music that needed to be returned/ chasing music during windy outdoor performances. Key Score fits my needs perfectly. I love the half page turn option, so I don’t miss a single measure! Marking up music is easy. You can even make a playlist so there’s no searching around during a concert for your next piece. I have not had great success using the tracking feature or automatic page turn, but for what I need the app for it’s great!

### 5/5 — Einzigartig

*2025-11-14, version 2.0*

### 5/5 — Very cool

*2025-10-30, version 2.0*

Incredible music tracking. I’m play the piano and it follows along and turns the page for me. All for free without ads? Insane.

### 5/5 — Great Program

*2025-07-17, version 1.8.20*

Easy to use, the creator answers questions quickly by email, photo and pdf loading corrects errors amazingly, not sure if automatic page turn works for community band but responds to various swipes during rests or first position. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-03-25, version 1.8.20*

This is THE app to use. The only thing I wish is the option to add a section or score to a playlist while viewing/playing.

### 5/5 — Everything is in its place

*2024-11-26, version 1.8.20*

So many different sources of music scattered throughout my world until I found KeyScore and it brought them all together so I could easily find them. I love how I can scan my hard copy music books and digital books and have them all together. I would be lost without this app. Thank you so much.

### 5/5 — great app

*2024-09-19, version 1.8.20*

i’m surprised more musicians don’t use this app. it’s easier to use than forscore. and it will turn the pages for you. no bluetooth devices or facial gestures needed. the app listens to you play.

### 5/5 — Geniale App

*2024-09-13, version 1.8.20*

Nochmals danke!

### 5/5 — Fabulous

*2024-08-14, version 1.8.20*

Such a complete and easy to use app. I use it daily to play my extensive piano music library. Highly recommend.
