### 5/5 — Great

*2024-06-27, version 2.2.2*

There is nearly nothing which you can‘t make for your live setup. Integrates Real Instruments with iPad Apps, AUv3 Instruments,... Split, Layer ... 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

### 5/5 — Poderosa

*2024-06-17, version 2.2.2*

Excelente aplicación para tocar en vivo, además de que cuenta con soporte directamente con su creador Ali Gokturk, también existe una comunidad de usuarios donde nos retroalimentamos para que la aplicación mejore

### 5/5 — Well Done

*2024-06-14*

I have been building my set lists with multiple bands inside KeyStage, transitioning from an old school setup consisting of three separate keyboards and switching patches between songs etc… What a game changer. I can do so much more now and I have only just scratched the surface - This is amazing. Thanks to Ali for all the hard work he puts into this!! <3

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-04-20*

After many many years of lugging outboard gear to gigs, I started researching alternatives that were easier on my back. After a lot of research, I jumped to KeyStage and am very happy. There is a learning curve, but all in all, this app is great for live gigs. I love the ability to pretty much set up my keyboard with any number of splits using Audio Units, so I can cover just about anything for the band I’m currently working with. The only drawback to this app is the time it takes to load a new song. This is not a huge issue if you are prepared to deal with it, but other than that, I absolutely love using this app for my live gigs.

### 5/5 — The go to app for keyboardists

*2024-04-14, version 2.1*

Excellent for keyboard players to manage multiple keyboards, virtual instruments and song arrangements.

### 5/5 — Perfect app

*2024-01-11, version 2.1*

Been using KeyStage for years now. Super reliable and endless options. I’m still finding new features! now with all the free effects and instruments units it’s the only app I have open on my iPad for an entire gig. Ali is super talented!

### 5/5 — Slim, reliable and great support!

*2023-12-21, version 2.1*

I use Keystage live with Osaka Rising to combine Korg Module, Koala Sampler and different other plugins to use with different midi controllers (Arturia Keylab MKII 88, Novation Launchkey Mini MK3 and Launchkey 61 MK3) on my Ipad Pro 2020. No issues, no drop outs. I do the line check, I do the soundcheck, I leave until the show starts and without any checking I can play the show from start to finish - perfect!

### 5/5 — Enjoying this app

*2023-12-03*

Thank you Ali for creating an excellent host. It’s exactly what I need and goes far beyond. Have had minimal issues, a few crashes but not on a gig; not even sure that KS2 caused the issue. Still digging into the capabilities of this app. It’s impressive, I’m really happy so far…

### 5/5 — Bester Mastercontroller !!!

*2023-11-06, version 2.1*

### 5/5 — Feature Rich App

*2023-11-05, version 2.1*

An amazing app designed and coded by an outstanding professional musician. An app that caters to all the demands of on-stage performance. Really wonder the manner in which the app has been conceptualised. Looking forward to great improvements over the versions to follow.

### 5/5 — Everything you could want to perform live!

*2023-10-04*

This app is everything you could want and need to perform keyboard/synth live from an iPad. I can load my various AU apps like Korg Module, Primer, Model D, etc, with patches and settings in the apps retained. I can control which synths use which part of the keyboard, ignore footpedal, play an octave higher or lower, and more. It has a mixer or it all, with the ability to insert FX, pan, adjust levels. Save song setups. Save section setups within songs. It’s way more powerful than I’ll ever need! You do have to pay all cart for some features but are very reasonably priced if you want/need them.

This app has no competition. Please keep supporting it!

### 5/5 — Does exactly what I want for musical theatre pit band

*2023-08-14, version 2.1*

I use KeyStage playing keyboards for pit bands. It’s perfect for organising complex patch lists with multiple layers and splits, and routing to and from hardware, software instruments and a sampler. I used it for several semi-professional shows and it has been rock solid.

### 5/5 — Absolutely the best for live work

*2023-07-28, version 2.1*

Everything in this is spot on. I’ve noticed that song switching via MIDI channels isn’t working, but it’s a minor thing amongst all that exists in this. Brilliant piece of kit.

### 5/5 — A MUST HAVE FOR KEYBOARDISTS

*2023-07-13*

Absolutely love this app! I run my entire catalog of tunes in Keystage for all performances. It’s amazing. The routing capabilities and features are extraordinarily helpful and intuitive. Ali is a wonderful developer, communicates very well and is VERY responsive. Highly, highly, highly recommended. Think Mainstage for iPad. A+++++++++++++++++++

### 5/5 — best app

*2023-07-08, version 2.1*

best app for live! excellent job ali! more new update in future. thanks

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2023-06-28, version 2.1*

Barely scratching the surface but loving this app. Great developer support and really helpful community of users too.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Purchase did not give full access

*2023-07-15*

Purchased “full” version but the app still wants more to unlock the features. Now reading the critical reviews it shows the developer has known about charging double for the “full” version but has done nothing to advertise the full price of the “full” version. The fix is easy. Change it to “Limited Version”. You have to use another app to connect Bluetooth midi. No biggie but annoying. Far too many crashes on my M1 iPad. Crash’s occurred just selecting options. After two I gave up. This maybe a limitation of iOS but I was unable to find out how to record a connected stand alone app in the song mixer.

### 2/5 — Beautiful app but with a big problem for me

*2025-08-11, version 2.2.3*

Keystage is a beautiful app but is seems not able to download the Custom Translators Database; it reamains locked on “Downloading Translators” without downloading anything. Why?

### 2/5 — Beware

*2022-12-28*

After purchasing for $20, I’m now being asked to pay an addition $8 to unlock units, (that is to access th auv3 apps installed, this was not so in the trial mode), plus other cost for additional features .. come on now. If this is the case let it be known from the onset, at present I feel like I’ve been scammed.

I really was not expecting this. Best wishes.

**Developer response:** Dear bevon_sl, the list of in-app purchases and what they do are described in the App Store. But you are right, I should have also mentioned them directly in the Lite version. I apologize for this inconvenience, but I can assure you that this wasn’t intentional. I added these AUv3 hosting features with version 2.0, 2 years after I released KeyStage, so they are really additional features. In the next update I'll make sure to inform the users that the trial mode unlock all features of KeyStage, including the in-app purchases.

### 2/5 — You have to pay to unlock AUv3

*2022-05-06, version 2.0.1*

I originally downloaded the lite version and decided to upgrade to the $20.00 full version after trying and liking the features of the app. However, I’m very disappointed that I have to pay and additional $8.00 to use my AUv3 instruments.

I should of read the terms of the full version before purchasing. The lite version allows you to demo all the features, so you think you’ll get access to those features, as it allows you to upgrade from within. However, don’t assume you’re getting those by upgrading. I think it’s devious of the developers to get you to upgrade and then spend more money to buy add ons.

### 3/5 — Realmente fantástico

*2023-05-15, version 2.1*

La App me gusta mucho, es fácil e intuitiva solucionados los problemas de la versión anterior y con las mejoras añadidas si antes me parecía bueno ahora me parece imprescindible. Gracias.

### 3/5 — Buy the app just to pay to unlock?

*2021-12-25*

A little frustrated that I bought the app for $20, then I have to pay another $20+ just to use my audio units… kinda lame. I’m gonna try Camelot before I pay more for this one. Kind of a shame, was really excited to see what this was made of.

**Developer response:** Dear codypmack,

Prior to version 2.0, KeyStage did not have AUv3 hosting, so this is an additional feature that came with version 2.0. Without the in-app purchases, KeyStage is still a fully functional master instrument controller. You can still control your hardware instruments (and apps running in the background) via MIDI, create splits/layers, create custom translators for advanced midi routing, etc. Also the fact that AUv3 hosting can be unlocked via in-app purchases is explained in the description of the app (in the app store). By the way, you can still try all these in-app purchases by tapping “Try All Units” in In-App Purchases view, or in the output selection view of a track.

### 4/5 — Great tool for live keyboard players

*2025-06-05, version 2.2.3*

I’m quite new to midi and IOS software and until this year only ever gigged with my one keyboard and its onboard sounds. I initially only used Key Stage as a hub to store and manage the live setlists and sounds of my Yamaha YC keyboard. The app makes it easy to call up the next song’s settings as well as the PDF file with my chords and lyrics. I can also arrange the sounds within each song in order and seamless jump from to the next sound with a Bluetooth footswitch. These two simple things alone have considerably reduced my onstage stress. I have since started enriching the onboard sounds by using Key Stage to mix in other sounds from AuV3 apps on my Ipad. This has been a gamechanger for me and I am only scratching the surface of its possibilities
I have not tried competitor products, so cannot compare. However, the Key Stage user interface is reasonably intuitive and flexible, and the developer has put a lot of thought into the different needs of keyboard-players. As a newbie to MIDI, I found integrating Key Stage with different Auv3 apps took some time to figure out. A more complete user manual with a troubleshooting guide and a beginner’s explanation of MIDI and AuV3 would have helped. However, the developer responded quickly to my questions. More experienced MIDI and IOS musicians will probably manage fine.
Overall, I’m very happy with Key Stage and I can recommend this app to any keyboard players wishing to integrate new sounds into their arsenal without the considerable cost of upgrading keyboards.

### 4/5 — snap to grid almost

*2024-08-24*

I love this app, but snap to grid on wave files that I need to loop isn’t
lining up. It is an amazing app, but I need that to work. I tried remaking files and making sure bpm was good coming out of audio share. Thank you for the amazing work you’ve put into it.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review and feedback Keys Playr. Can you contact me at aligokturk80@gmail.com about this issue that you are having? I'm actively using snap to grid function in player units on metronome tracks and didn't have any issues with lining up. Maybe there is a detail that I missed.

### 4/5 — The first iPad live rig manager with the power to do everything you need

*2021-11-21*

This is the first iPad live rig manager with no compromises, that has no dead ends, that can truly run a complicated rig with aplomb and ease. The layout is optimized for the gigging musician, with a unique “table” of instruments, song sections, and patches. It hosts audio units and let you change their settings on the fly without reloading. It is stable and reliable, to the point that you can relax and enjoy the gig. The bottom line: the app is very unattractive and is tricky to set up. But once you get past all this, wow, you have your own personal virtual keyboard tech! It is amazing and so fun to watch it do it’s magic with ease and speed. This is the app to buy if you want to control every facet of your rig. A user manual or textual tutorial would be very welcomed, but I did eventually figure it all out.

### 4/5 — This is a good app!!

*2021-04-29*

There are some things I’d like to see, but over all it is a really solid app.

**Developer response:** Hi Moshopro,

For any feature requests, suggestions for improvements, and bug reports, please contact me at aligokturk80@gmail.com.

I try to release new versions regularly, and I can say that in every update, more than 50% of the new features and improvements are suggested by users.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-01-23, version 2.2.3*

*2025-09-18, version 2.2.3*

A must have for keyboard players

### 5/5 — An Absolutely Fantastic Dream App 🏆

*2025-09-11, version 2.2.3*

I only purchased KeyStage a couple of days ago thanks to a recommendation from a good friend. This app is more than just Brilliant, it is everything a live keyboard player needs, especially for seamlessly changing Sections (tracks) using MIDI control without loss of any audio, it is pure Wizardry, you have to buy it to find out and then the magic happens ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 5/5 — Top of the top

*2025-06-19, version 2.2.3*

Ho provato tutto quello che il mercato offre. In questo software trovo tutto quello che mi serve. Potentissimo ma al contempo facile e intuitivo. Spero venga costantemente aggiornato.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2025-05-30, version 2.2.3*

Perfect for true musician

### 5/5 — Inspiring!

*2025-04-19*

Logical, flexible, full featured, inspiring! Thank you for making such a marvelous app that helps us organize the numerous iPad sounds in a logical way helping us to be productive and inspired! Lately I’ve even experienced quite the benefit from the PDF sheet music feature since I have turned my iPad to portrait mode, so I can view my fairly complicated charts one full page at a time. I practice more because of the great organization!

### 5/5 — The best iPad app for live music performance!

*2025-01-26, version 2.2.3*

This app is amazing and keeps getting better because the developer is the most responsive I have ever encountered. This is like MainStage for your iPad. In some ways it is even more powerful. If you are wanting to use your iPad for live keyboards, this is by far the best!

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2024-12-20, version 2.2.3*

Been using this on gigs 2+ times a week for the past year and the more I use it, the more I realise how powerful it is. It’s my main keyboard plugin host now, but I use it with keys/guitar setup, and adding in midi pad controllers and even a theremin. Ali is a great developer and responds quickly to questions/suggestions, also a great community of users on Facebook helping each other out. Couldn’t recommend more!

### 5/5 — Well Done

*2024-11-26, version 2.2.3*

I have been building my set lists with multiple bands inside KeyStage, transitioning from an old school setup consisting of three separate keyboards and switching patches between songs etc… What a game changer. ### 5/5 — A Beast - with support

*2024-09-02, version 2.2.3*

KeyStage is an amazing tool for keyboardists and even guitarists. As a gigging keys guy I finally have an easy way to set up and deliver a whole set with different presets and synths for all the songs we play. It has good support by the developer and fb group. Someone on there called it a beast… and as I get deeper into custom translators and controls I am realising it truly is.
