## What is KeyUp Radio?

KeyUp is a fast, modern controller for your AllStarLink amateur-radio nodes — built for hams, by hams.

Scan your local Wi-Fi to find your nodes, then connect and disconnect links, fire one-tap presets, watch real-time RX/TX and connected-node status, and manage everything from a clean iPhone and iPad interface.

Features:
• Auto-discover AllStarLink nodes on your network
• Connect / disconnect links, permanent connects, disconnect-all
• Five shared presets plus unlimited per-node presets
• Live RX/TX and connected-node status
• Per-node naming, Face ID protection, password autofill
• Designed for ASL3 and HamVoIP nodes over the Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI)

Private by design: KeyUp talks directly to your nodes on your local network. No ads, no tracking, no paywall — completely free.

KeyUp is not affiliated with AllStarLink, Inc. Amateur radio license required to operate a node.

Developed by Brandon Fowler (AE7BF) and Tyler Fowler (W7NTF).

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.1.5 — 2026-08-11

• Fixes EchoLink recognition for newer, longer node numbers. EchoLink node numbers can now be 7 digits (8 in AllStar with the "3" prefix); KeyUp now tags and connects these correctly as EchoLink instead of AllStar.

### 1.1.4 — 2026-08-10

• EchoLink: connect to EchoLink nodes right from KeyUp — tap a preset or type the node (e.g. 3009999 for *ECHOTEST*) and it connects. Every node now shows a small tag so you can tell AllStar and EchoLink links apart at a glance.

• Lock a node: keep an important link — like a portable or hotspot node — connected while your presets switch everything else. A locked node stays put through presets, direct connects, and Disconnect All, and its Disconnect button is disabled until you unlock it.

• Transceive or Monitor: choose how you connect. When you tap a preset or connect directly, KeyUp can ask whether to join in Transceive or Monitor mode — handy for listening in without transmitting. Turn the prompt off in Settings if you prefer one-tap connects.

• Cleaner presets: the network-type tag moved next to the node number, so longer node names are no longer cut off.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-07-01

• New: KeyUp now checks your network for new nodes at launch and offers to add any it finds — no manual hunting.
• Improved: Scanning a saved network now updates it in place. Your existing nodes, names, and logins are kept; only genuinely new nodes are added (no more duplicate networks).
• Fixed: On iPad, connected nodes no longer briefly show a "disconnected" icon in the side list.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-06-30
