## What is Khao?

Dinner, minus the deadlock.
One dish at a time. You decide.
Swipe for ideas. Tap for the recipe.

Khao helps you decide what to eat without burying you in endless lists. Open the app and you'll see one dish. If it's not right, swipe to the next. If it is, tap for the recipe. The more you swipe, the better Khao understands your palate—and the less often it suggests what you have already rejected.

MAKE TONIGHT EASIER

Tell Khao what fits right now: veg, vegan, Jain, non-veg or egg; your allergies; how hungry you are; how much time you have; and what you're in the mood for. Refine by spice, richness, budget or calories whenever you want.

BUILT FOR INDIAN HOMES

Household mode keeps each family member's diet and allergies in mind, helping you find dishes everyone can eat. Khao also understands Indian festivals and vrat fasting days, and adjusts its suggestions accordingly.

KHAO+ — COOK FROM WHAT YOU HAVE

Fridge Scan: scan your fridge, fix the list, see what you can cook. Point the camera at your fridge or pantry — up to five shots — and Khao reads what it can see: dals, sabzi vegetables, paneer, the masala tins. Scanning is a head start, not magic: it will miss things, so the next step is yours — add what it missed, remove what it got wrong, and confirm. From your confirmed list, Khao shows the dishes you can make right now, and for everything else, a shopping list of exactly what's missing. Recognition runs on your phone; fridge photos never leave it. Not on Khao+? Watch a short video to earn a Fridge Scan — up to three a day. Nothing plays until you tap, and a scan that finds nothing costs you nothing.

Khao+ also boosts your contest entries in the public gallery (never in judging) and removes ads. The free version shows two small, labelled ads: one between choosing a dish and its recipe, which you can skip after ten seconds, and one while you wait for a delivery — never while you're browsing dishes, and never inside a recipe you're cooking from. The video that earns a Fridge Scan is the only other ad, and it plays only when you choose it.

MORE THAN THE EVERYDAY DECK

• The Khao Photo Contest: photograph what you made, free to enter, judged on the photo, monthly. Win Khao+. Rules in the app.
• Leftover Remix turns what's already in your fridge into a dish. (Part of Khao+ — and free forever on any iPhone that had Khao before Khao+ existed.)
• Dinner Party helps you build a balanced menu for your guests.
• Later keeps good ideas ready for another day.

COOK IT OR ORDER IT

Explore Indian regional cooking alongside modern, global and fusion food. Make the dish at home, or hand it off to Zomato or Swiggy when cooking is not happening tonight.

Khao works in English and Hindi, on iPhone and iPad. No account needed.

The next time someone asks, "What should we eat?"—open Khao.

Ye khao.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.11 — 2026-10-09

A new look: Khao has a new app icon.

### 1.0.10 — 2026-09-29

Khao now uses the big inner screen on iPhone Duo.

Watch a short video, get a Fridge Scan. Up to three a day, no Khao+ needed for the scan — and a scan that finds nothing costs you nothing.

Two small ads in the free version: one between choosing a dish and its recipe (skip after ten seconds), one while you wait for a delivery. Never while you're browsing, never inside a recipe. Every ad is labelled, none are personalised, and in the EU and UK you're asked first and can change your mind later.

The deck no longer runs dry: dishes you've answered go to the back of the line instead of disappearing.

No onion & garlic is now your own choice, or a rule for the days you pick — it never hides egg or non-veg dishes from people who eat them.

Singular and plural are now the same ingredient — "eggs" is caught by an egg allergy, and "tomatoes" is found in your kitchen.

The first-run tour now teaches the Never gesture.

### 1.0.9 — 2026-08-30

Khao+ is here - Khao's first subscription.
- Fridge Scan: scan your fridge, fix the list, see what you can cook. Runs on your phone; photos never leave it.
- Missing-ingredients list: for any dish, a checklist of just what your kitchen lacks.
- Contest boost: your entries rank higher in the contest gallery. Never in judging.
- Ad-free: free users now see an optional ad after cooking; Khao+ removes ads entirely.

Also in 1.0.9:
- The Khao Photo Contest: photograph what you made, free to enter, judged on the photo, monthly. Win Khao+. Rules in the app.
- Restore Purchases.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-08-19

Blocked someone by mistake? Now you can undo it.

Open More, then Blocked people. It lists everyone you have blocked on a dish photo, and one tap puts them back. Their photos reappear on the dish straight away. If you have not blocked anyone, the screen just says so.

Until this release a block was permanent. That was never the intention, and it is fixed.

As always: no account, and your tastes stay on your iPhone.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-08-13

Cooked something? Photograph it.

You can now add your own photo of a dish, so the next person deciding what to eat sees what it really looks like when someone actually makes it at home. Accepted photos are credited to you, by name, beside the dish.

Every photo is checked by a person before anyone else sees it. You can report a photo, block a contributor, and delete your own photo at any time. Anything reported is checked and removed within 24 hours.

As always: no account, and your tastes stay on your iPhone.
