### 2/5 — Too busy

*2026-08-19, version 1.3.3*

Another update. Last one honest. PLEASE everyone sit down round a table after listening to Customers and redesign this app. Your screen layout makes no sense and is difficult to find stuff. Get rid of self promotion and Ads. I’ve just bought a new EV4 I don’t want an EV2. I want to easily find the functions I need and want them to be where I would expect them to be.

Update. The user interface had changes but no better. I just find the same function under multiple tabs like Ventilate. Why can we not just have all the control buttons on one screen. It’s just all over the place. So now I just open the App to see how much charge I have in the car. That’s all I do with it ! - previous review…The screens are just too busy I have difficulty finding stuff. It asks where I want to go on the Home Screen but gives me the map button as well. I’ve just bought an EV4 but the app tells be to look at an EV2. Why do I want Ads. I just want the controls easily accessible. Perhaps a redesign of the interface should be considered. To me using the app is more annoying than useful

### 2/5 — Update needed

*2026-08-16, version 1.3.3*

The ability to manually refresh the charge status was in the earlier version and is missing in the latest version.

### 3/5 — Getting better but ….

*2026-08-13, version 1.3.3*

Still far too much hard sell included. An annoying bug has developed recently; swiping down the main screen no longer updates the charge state of the vehicle no matter how often you do it; what do you have to do instead is to lock the car and then the charge status updates almost instantly! The developer response was the usual “reinstall and reset everything”. The equivalent of “have you tried switching it off and switching it back on again?” No - I won’t as you have not told me the consequences of doing so. I await a proper investigation and an eventual fix.

### 2/5 — Another update that has made the app even more unusable

*2026-08-10, version 1.3.3*

Yet again have they updated the app moved things around made it harder to do anything but more than anything it’s the connectivity that the problem my car is on the drive charging my phone is on WiFi and I’m in a 5g full mobile signal area but will the app talk to my car no !!! Stop tinkering with the app and sort your network out if you expect us to pay for these services you better buck up !!! N

### 3/5 — Good but!!

*2026-08-10, version 1.3.3*

App was great when first had it. However since the update the battery conditioning function no longer works

### 2/5 — Annoyingly slow and clunky

*2026-08-08, version 1.3.3*

Just not good enough. Overcomplicated and very slow. Lots of unwanted promotional material. Car is excellent Kia app is rubbish!

### 2/5 — Update stopped connection.

*2026-08-03, version 1.3.3*

The forced update reduced functionality and now the app is not talking to my PV5. How is this an update? Grrr

### 4/5 — Add small widget for ios

*2026-08-03, version 1.3.3*

Good app for basic control and monitoring of vehicle. Would be ideal if next update includes for small widget option for ios. App only has option for medium and large widget which is a bit annoying.

### 3/5 — Good, but climate settings are confusing and not ideal

*2026-08-02, version 1.3.3*

Please can we get rid of smart climate it does not work in UK as it want to put 24 degrees in on hot summer day. And manual user setting is a pain to have to keep changing depending on weather. Can we not have two user settings one for winter and one for summer so we can have winter with all the heated seats, mirrors and defrosting etc set with high temp and the summer one with everything off and cool temp? Please make this a priority fix as this is the only thing letting this app down! Thanks

### 2/5 — Charging schedule disappears

*2026-07-31, version 1.3.3*

Great app except for the charging schedule regularly disappears for no reason. Frustrating and costs me money with expensive electricity rates. No fix found yet. Fix it and I’d rate it 5 stars.

### 2/5 — I think you need to pay for the expensive upgrades

*2026-07-31, version 1.3.3*

Unfortunately if you don’t the functions are limited and even unreliable. Updated the app on my phone this morning
Charging process not stopping on remote now.
And battery level reading after
Refreshing went back to what it was 10 hours ago.

### 2/5 — Don’t hope to quickly find if you’re locked!

*2026-07-28, version 1.3.2*

The app is fine, but over 4 years it’s been getting worse for usability. Much worse. For the user. Easy to find if I can pay for a maps update, but 99.9% of the time I want to know “oh no! Have I locked the car?!” and the answer to that question (which should be top of the first screen after opening) is “wait 5 seconds for animation to run and app to load, press an icon, scroll to bottom, press an icon, then another, then pull down to update”. It’s quicker to walk back to the car most times.

### 4/5 — It’s gradually getting better & better with all of the bug fixes

*2026-07-27, version 1.3.1*

The Kia App 1.3.1 update that was released over the weekend crashes at start up on my Ipad OS 17.7.11. I’ve uninstalled and wiped data & it allows me to login again then crashes again.

### 2/5 — .

*2026-07-26, version 1.3.1*

This is not a native app, it’s an WebApp. I always get Error 9015 when trying to access the Services History. I wouldn’t trust an web app to unlock/start my car.

### 4/5 — Gut mit einem gravierenden Mangel

*2026-07-26*

### 3/5 — Do I trust miles / kWh stats?

*2026-07-22, version 1.2.0*

Firstly miles / kWh is key information that should be on home page. Secondly I not sure I trust the data, that shows my average is 5 miles / kWh over past 30 days (1,800 miles). If true, wow, but I’m very sceptical as Kia marketing promotes an EV5 value of 3.4 to 3.7.

### 1/5 — V1.2.0 disaster!

*2026-07-22, version 1.2.0*

The last version finally fixed all the old issues for this major update to go backwards. Such as making key data hard to see/get to. We are back to what you want us to have and not what the customer would like. I would like the option to edit the Home screen and set it as I would like and when an update does come through my personal settings are not removed so i don’t have to start all over again

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — When is the old app gonna be back?

*2026-08-19, version 1.3.3*

I have measured it today, it takes 90 seconds for the app to load and another 105 seconds for the app to tell me it won’t work. It is actually faster to go up for the key from the garage to the flat and back to the car than try to open the it with this app. Hopefully you have burnt a lot of cash developing this, but sometimes it is better to not touch what has worked before rather than force something you are not capable of doing. If I were you I would just give up on this app and simply restore the old one.

### 1/5 — Only works intermittently

*2026-08-17, version 1.3.3*

The app responds mostly very slowly or not at all. I’ve given up trying to schedule charging for off peak tariff times as it simply does not work. It’s much more reliable using a smart plug. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Chocolate tea pot anyone?

*2026-08-15, version 1.3.3*

I can unlock the car and find a charging station and that’s about it? Masses of sales blurb …erm I’ve just bought a brand new Kia, I’m not in the market for another one yet?? NOTHING by way of tutorials or guides on how to use the fantastic features on the car. Put “manual” “tutorial” in the search and nothing happens. My advice to Kia, don’t give up the day job, stick to making cars and if this is the best you can do don’t bother with Apps. I’m off to read the paper manual, I may be some time.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-08-09, version 1.3.3*

App never works always saying check vehicle status which I do and still nothing works!!

### 1/5 — Cannot connect

*2026-08-06, version 1.3.3*

Cannot connect app to the vehicle keeps telling me there are 2 users but there aren’t seems in a loop, when I sscan a code will not vonnect

### 1/5 — Faulty

*2026-08-02, version 1.3.3*

Cannot even build a car and get it right first time. Two recalls already and car purchased end if January and it was a new
Model . Never had this before

### 1/5 — Not liking the new update

*2026-08-02, version 1.3.3*

Confusing and not to easy user interface on the app

### 1/5 — Some improvements… but.

*2026-07-26, version 1.3.1*

Update Jul-2026: Better interface in last version. Cleaner and simpler.

Over complex and pathetic UI.
The Kia App Home Screen is far too busy and over complicated for general usage.
Kia Connect app was simple to use and way easier to work with (especially for my Niro HPEV). I just wish to see the charging status (non scheduled), but can’t seem to in the Kia App.
I fell this Kia App is a backwards step.
Please bring back a simple “status” page, showing charging progress, please and hide the other complex stuff to secondary screens.

### 1/5 — 4/5 really?!?!

*2026-07-25, version 1.3.1*

Judging by a lot of their comments made this year I’m not quite sure how this act getting far out of five as it certainly doesn’t deserve it.
There seems to have been an update which hasn’t made things any better. things like how much battery power have I? very little is where you expect to find it, unintuitive app.

### 1/5 — Every version of your app is more useless than the last

*2026-07-25, version 1.3.1*

How and why do you do this?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — My ‘go-to’ for my Kia

*2026-08-09, version 1.3.3*

My last car was a Skoda Octavia and the App was a waste of time - by contrast, this App is brilliant for me and my requirements. . . love the brief on-line Manual rather than the Bible of a book manual.
Well done Kia 🫡

### 5/5 — Accurate

*2026-08-01, version 1.3.3*

This app is very active and accurate provide real time information about your situation of vehicle

### 5/5 — Super Update!

*2026-07-24*

### 5/5 — Great car

*2026-07-10, version 1.1.6*

Always had a positive experience with this car, great features, excellent reliability sometimes a few niggles with the interface but other than that superb!

### 5/5 — Great option

*2026-06-26, version 1.1.6*

Love this app. Rely on it often to open and lock the car and the data it provides.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-06-10, version 1.1.6*

Great app. Very useful.

### 5/5 — Good App

*2026-05-27, version 1.1.5*

The App does everything I want so great

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-18*

WISH instead of smart climate. And full on climate buttons could we have two buttons where we get to set two (or 3) retained settings. Some times if it’s a hot day I might want 19 degrees. But in the morning I might want 22, heated seats etc. to my liking. And ability to set a name. The current buttons seem overly clever but practically useless. So called Smart = Seems full on everything. So I have to edit the settings twice a day to remotely activate manually. They could be pre programmed to be similar to now, probably vary per country.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand your concern that the current climate control setup lacks flexible, personalized presets for different comfort preferences throughout the day. Your feedback is valuable and will be shared with the relevant team for further review and improvement.

### 5/5 — Mr Narendra Lodhia

*2026-02-08*

My issue in my new Kia Sorento 4 HEV is the intermittent BATTERY FAILURE SIGNS.
DOES ANYONE HAVE SUCH ISSUES?
The app is not picking this up. However, I’ve found the Kia App to be incredibly reliable and it truly does everything it claims to do. While on holiday in East Africa, I realized I’d left the driver’s side window open rushing to get into a waiting taxi to the airport. Although the app had already sent a notification within minutes, it was I who didn’t notice it. It had done what it had to do and warned me almost within the time frame it takes. However, when I checked the vehicle status. I was able to close the window remotely through the app from Zanzibar to here in UK and confirm it via my CCTV, which gave me huge peace of mind.

The app also warns me if the car is left unlocked, and after testing all its other features, I’m fully satisfied. Without it, I would have been constantly worried about security or potential insurance issues while away on holidays. Luckily, the car was at my son’s gated property with security, but the app provided that essential extra layer of control. How wonderful.
I would recommend to anyone who has any issues with the app to contact KIA or nearby dealers for assistance. It’s marvellous to have it.

**Developer response:** Dear User. Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are glad to know that the app is to your liking. Please write to us at https://connect.kia.com/eu/customer-support/contact-form regarding the battery failure notifications so that the concerned team can investigate and resolve it for you. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Customer satisfaction

*2025-12-10*

After being on this app for over a short while, I have to say that I’m finding it very helpful, the only query I have, is that I was informed that this was a free app, and yet when I look at vehicle insight it comes up with 92p, could someone please explain why this is, I’m happy to pay this if this is the case, but where would I have to pay it too.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
Tony Green.

**Developer response:** Dear User, we regret the inconvenience and thank you for reaching out to us. To clarify, the 92p shown in Vehicle Insight is not a charge; it represents your Driving Safety Score. The app is free, and no payment is required. We’ll continue working hard to improve the Kia App and provide better service experiences.
