## What is KickMint?

Task initiation for ADHD, AuDHD, and late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults. The shame-free ADHD task starter that breaks any task into the first physical step. On-device AI. No cloud. No account. Built for executive function, time blindness, and the moment when "just start" stops working.

KickMint is built for adults with ADHD and AuDHD (ADHD plus autism), and for anyone whose brain knows exactly what to do and still cannot begin. It does not try to make you more organized. It tries to make the next step possible.

For RSD-aware users, late-diagnosed adults, and anyone whose brain knows what to do and still cannot start.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Most productivity apps assume the bottleneck is planning. For ADHD and AuDHD, the bottleneck is the gap between "I should" and the first physical action. KickMint is designed end to end around that gap.

Pick One. Instead of a list of fifteen tasks, the Focus tab shows you one. The one your brain is most likely to actually start, given your energy, the time you have, and what you have done today.

Break it down in seconds. Tap Break it down on any task. You get three to five steps that each start with a physical action you can do without thinking. "Open the laptop." "Get the form from the drawer." Not "start the report." Implementation intentions (specific if-then plans) raise follow-through across over a hundred studies (Gollwitzer & Sheeran, 2006).

Stuck help. One tap and KickMint gives you a five-step recovery that caps each step at five minutes. Tiny, physical, finishable. Designed for the moment when "just start" stops working.

Time anchors. ADHD time blindness is real and measured (Barkley, 2012; Weissenberger et al., 2021). KickMint shows you a single line that grounds where you are in the day: morning, midday, evening. No buzzing reminders. Just a quiet marker.

Breathing room. The breathing space button runs four cycles of 4-7-8 breathing with a visible round counter, matching Dr Andrew Weil's beginner protocol. Slow paced breathing produces a measurable parasympathetic shift in three to four cycles (Aktas et al., 2019).

YOUR PHONE, YOUR DATA

The AI runs on your phone. A small open-weight model (Qwen 2.5 1.5B) downloads once over WiFi, about 900 MB, and from then on every task breakdown, Pick One suggestion, and Stuck recovery is computed locally. Nothing is sent to us. We never see your tasks. There is no account.

Sync is optional. If you want your tasks on your iPhone and iPad, KickMint Pro offers end-to-end encrypted sync. Your phone holds the only key. Even we cannot read your synced data; we only relay the ciphertext for up to 90 days. You can stop syncing at any time.

WHAT IS IN PRO

Free covers the daily loop end to end: capture, single-task focus, breakdown, Pick One, Stuck help, breathing space, the daily routine markers, and the weekly insights.
Pro unlocks encrypted multi-device sync, full task templates (MotorMap), cycle phase aware sizing for users who track menstrual phase, medication-aware scheduling, the dopamine menu, and full insight history. Monthly, annual, or one-time Lifetime, pricing shown in app.

BUILT FOR ADHD AND AUDHD ADULTS

The app explicitly supports neurodivergent overlays the rest of the category ignores: PDA-aware tone, sensory-overload Stealth mode, novelty rotation, overcommitment detection, time estimation training, and waiting-mode relief when you have a calendar window too small to start the real work.

We are honest: KickMint is a productivity tool, not a medical device, not therapy, not a replacement for an ADHD or autism diagnosis. It is what we wished existed when nothing else fit. The medical disclaimer lives in Settings and at kick-mint.com/medical-disclaimer.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-15

KickMint 1.3.0 makes focus sessions feel better in the hand: smarter voice capture, a redesigned sound panel, and a week of your sessions at a glance.

VOICE CAPTURE THAT KEEPS UP
- The mic now stays warm across a whole train of thought: pause, breathe, keep talking. Each thought lands as its own task.
- Dictate mid-session without losing your ambient sound; it comes back the moment you are done.

SOUND, ONE TAP AWAY
- A redesigned sound panel with a clear Mute and Play button, one-tap presets, and simple sliders.

SEE YOUR WEEK
- The Me tab now shows your focus sessions from the last 7 days: how many, how long, day by day.

QUICKER STARTS
- Pick one for me is now a full-width action on the Focus tab.
- Time estimates are asked once per task, then remembered, so returning to a task takes two taps.

SMALLER, SHARPER
- The header adapts cleanly to larger text sizes, and session controls no longer touch the screen edges.
- Lifetime owners now see a clear lifetime-access confirmation in settings instead of a subscription screen.
- Sessions ended by a force-quit are recorded instead of lost, and a rare layout glitch after popups now heals itself instantly.

Everything in the free daily loop stays free: Pick One, Stuck help, breathing space, time anchors, and the weekly insights.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-06-13

KickMint 1.2.2 is a big reliability, clarity, and polish update. If you are coming from an older version, you also get everything added across 1.1 and 1.2.

START TASKS YOUR WAY
- On a fresh task, choose how to begin: break it down with AI, break it down yourself, or just start.
- Edit any AI breakdown. Reword a step, add your own, or write the whole list. The steps are yours.
- Breakdowns for real-world errands now stay physical ("leave the house", "drive to the shop") instead of drifting into "open your laptop".

FOCUS THAT FINISHES
- Finishing the last step now completes the task, with a quiet moment to mark it done. Tapped by mistake? Undo it.
- The break screen has a clear way out, Pause and Take a break are now distinct, and the main button reads Continue once you are mid-task.

SUBSCRIPTIONS THAT JUST WORK
- Reworked the entire Pro path so a paid plan is recognized instantly and never locks you out by mistake. Restore and re-subscribe are reliable.

CALMER, CLEARER, KINDER
- A top-to-bottom visual refresh across onboarding, focus, capture, insights, and settings.
- Dozens of accessibility fixes: stronger contrast, full VoiceOver switches, and bigger tap targets.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
- The AI still runs entirely on your phone. Optional end-to-end encrypted sync keeps your iPhone and iPad in step, with the only key on your device.

Everything in the free daily loop stays free: Pick One, Stuck help, breathing space, time anchors, and the weekly insights.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-05-26

1.2.1 - Sync your KickMint across iPhone, iPad, and Mac with end-to-end encryption. Your phone holds the only key.

What's new
• Encrypted multi-device sync (Pro). Pair with a QR code in seconds.
• Breathing space now walks you through Dr Weil's four 4-7-8 cycles with a round counter.
• Clearer copy on the on-device AI download flow.

Fixed
• AI download now starts the moment you tap, even on wifi.
• Tapping a task card no longer starts a focus session by accident.
• Duplicate "Coming up" rows for matching task titles.

Everything in 1.1 stays free: Pick One, Stuck help, breathing space, time anchors, weekly insights.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-05-14

1.2.0

Optional end-to-end encrypted sync across your devices. Your phone holds the only key. We never see your notes; we only relay the encrypted blob for up to 90 days. Pair via QR code in seconds. Pro feature, fully opt-in.

Also new:
- Breathing space now shows a Round counter and walks you through Dr Weil's four 4-7-8 cycles, the protocol he prescribes for beginners.
- Task cards now explain what tapping Start does, so first-time users are not guessing.
- Clearer copy across the model-download flow: plain language about what the on-device helper does, where it lives, and how to remove it.
- Fixed: the on-device AI helper sometimes failed to start downloading even on
wifi with a full battery. The download now begins the moment you tap it.
- Fixed: tapping the body of a task card no longer starts a focus session by accident. Start is only triggered by the Start button.
- Fixed: duplicate "Coming up" rows when two queued tasks shared a title.

Everything in V1.1 stays free, including Pick One, Stuck help, breathing space, time anchors, and the weekly insights.
