## Newest reviews (11 of 31)

### 1/5 — Ouch

*2022-08-22, version 3.0.62*

Yeah, absolutely not. For one 13 minute ride to the airport, it would cost me $210......
I'd rather walk with a baby than get ripped off like that.

### 1/5 — The user interface doesn’t work

*2022-07-22, version 3.0.60*

The app allows you to enter your credit card information and personal details, but then doesn’t function when trying to delete that information.

### 1/5 — App has UX issues

*2022-06-20, version 3.0.58*

Bad UX

### 1/5 — Ripoff

*2022-04-22, version 3.0.55*

The app quoted me $228 for an 18 minute ride in San Diego in a sedan!! No way.

### 1/5 — ⚠️ UNPROFESSIONAL ⚠️

*2021-09-14, version 3.0.46*

Came across their website and was sent to download their app then saw the reviews.. now of course when running a business not all of the reviews would be positive but for the developer to sit there and be so disrespectful to each and every person that has a complaint rather than keeping it professional is just horrible! Who in the would trust this company with their children after seeing how they respond to the parents...totally unacceptable.
I'm so glad I didn't move forward with these people.

& to any parent that comes across this review, save your hard earned money and find someone from
 Care.com 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 or even 🐇Task Rabbit 🐇 .

### 1/5 — Redundant Fees, Developer is Shameless in overcharging

*2021-08-01, version 3.0.40*

My wife and I used Kid Car for our 1y/o son in NYC. From JFK to Columbus Circle, it was $125. The actual payment was $87, then they hit you with a bunch of fees. Black Car Fund, Airport fee and Congestion fee I understand. However, they charged us $10.89 for a child/minor fee?! It’s a Kids Car App!!! You’re charging me extra to receive the service that your entire business is founded on?!? That is absolutely ridiculous.

The app shows you the price before you book the ride, but it doesn't show you how it breaks down until after the fact.

### 1/5 — Too expensive!!!

*2020-01-13, version 2.18.5*

$75 for a 2 mile ride. Insane!!!

### 1/5 — No reason for a price like this.

*2019-12-20, version 2.18.5*

Unless the driver has a PhD and my kid gets a massage. On his way to school, 20 mi ride for $54 is not worth it.

### 1/5 — Is this a joke?

*2019-11-22, version 2.18.5*

Even Uber with car seats is cheaper. What is the advantage?!?! I could rent a car in NYC to LI for two days with the cost of a single ride.

### 1/5 — WOW

*2019-07-17, version 2.18.0*

It’s to expensive

### 1/5 — Very expensive

*2018-09-03, version 2.18.0*

This service, at $25 minimum charge per ride is unbelievably cost prohibitive and laughable. That’s $25 plus taxes and tip so it’s more like $35 minimum. Not worth it for a trip of a mile or less.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — INSANELY EXPENSIVE

*2026-06-29, version 3.0.110*

30 minute drive, 2 adults, 2 kids with car seats, and 1 bag. $670.21… like are you insane?!?! I tried to plan too! 3 months in advance! So it wasn’t a last minute thing. I have the picture of the quote if anyone would like to see it. Deleting this app immediately.

### 1/5 — Wildly inefficient for no reason

*2026-06-26, version 3.0.110*

I have 4 kids and needed a car from NYC to the airport. The app forced me to book 2 cars for 6 people total. I then emailed them and asked if we truly need 2 cars or if they offer SUVs. He says you need 2 cars. Then proceeds to send TWO cars that seat SEVEN EACH with the applicable car seats in both?? When the first SUV arrived I loaded my whole family into the first vehicle thinking he realized the mistake and just sent 1 car. Oh no… the other guy was at a different address. Yet I had to pay for both cars? Absolutely wild experience.

### 1/5 — $400 for one-way 4-mile ride for 1 adult and 1 toddler!

*2026-04-14, version 3.0.104*

Don’t bother downloading, you have to be a Trump or Elon Musk to afford the $300-$400 ride I was quoted to transport myself and a two-year-old to a doctors office in-town for a 17 minute car ride 4 miles downtown.

### 1/5 — Out of budget.

*2026-01-31, version 3.0.104*

A 3.3 ride from an airport quoted at $420. What a joke. Ubers are $35. Kid tax at its finest.

### 1/5 — Pricing

*2025-07-09, version 3.0.103*

How is a one-way 5 mile trip, which takes 15 minutes, priced at $335.18? This is for a child who doesn’t require a car seat.

### 1/5 — Prices are unreasonable

*2025-03-02, version 3.0.100*

I wanted to book a ride to the airport with a car seat, & the app wants to charge $420 for less than 15 ride! This is outrageous!

### 1/5 — Cost prohibitive

*2024-03-23, version 3.0.98*

I was just quoted $329.90 to go 5.6 miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport to the Marriott Harbor Beach at 3030 Holiday drive. Literally $330 dollars to go 5.6 miles. That is $60 per mile. What?

### 1/5 — App doesn't open

*2022-11-07, version 3.0.63*

I'm on iOS 16.1 and the app doesn't open at all. It just displays the Kid Car logo on a light green screen but never loads..

### 1/5 — Wow. What a horrible experience.

*2022-09-22, version 3.0.63*

Didn’t even get to book a car. In addition to needing a two hour heads up to book anything, I had one problem after another with registering. I entered my ten digit phone number and it kept telling me it was invalid. I had to enter it with hyphens and the +1 country code but it didn’t tell me that. I had to figure it out. Then I entered the verification code they texted me and kept being told it was wrong. When I asked them to resend a code, they said I was already registered.

Again, to be clear, I didn’t even get to use the service because the app registration experience was so poor.

### 1/5 — useless

*2022-09-07, version 3.0.63*

Still waiting for my validation code, can't even get into the app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect for taking a newborn home from the hospital

*2022-10-26, version 3.0.63*

We used this service to get our new worn home from the hospital in October 2022. We don’t own a car, so this was one of the few options available because you need an infant car seat to leave the hospital.

### 5/5 — Pricey but worth it

*2022-06-22, version 3.0.58*

As other reviewers have noted, this is not a cheap service. What they’re leaving out is that the cost of the ride is available up front before booking, so you can figure out well in advance whether KidCar will fit your budget.

The service itself is top notch and in my opinion well worth the money. I booked two NYC area airport transfers and was pleasantly surprised by the proactive, friendly communication from both KidCar and their drivers. Our rides arrived promptly with properly installed car seats and drove very safely to our destinations. Both drivers were great with our kids – one even sang to our son when he got cranky. All in all a great experience.

### 5/5 — Great service

*2021-06-05, version 3.0.29*

They care. Makes a difference.

### 5/5 — Trustworthy clean and reliable

*2018-03-15, version 2.15.1*

We didn’t have a car seat when we rushed to the hospital from Queens to Manhattan to give birth to our little joy! We were told just call KidCar when we were ready, and the car that came was perfect! It was clean and safe and I felt comfortable bringing home my 4 day old baby. I’m so grateful we didn’t have to haul around a car seat at the hospital. What a great service! We will be using them anytime we are in the city and don’t feel like lugging around a car seat. Plus the app has much better and controlled options for car seats than Uber. Uber’s customer driven choices on the app are terrible.

### 4/5 — Service is great

*2023-02-17, version 3.0.73*

The service is great. Drivers have been reliable, friendly, and safe. My only ding is that the app itself is pretty dated and hard to use.

I think the people complaining about price have just gotten used to VC subsidized services. Seems like these drivers are paid well and that is a good thing.

### 2/5 — No estimator

*2024-01-29, version 3.0.92*

Website has a price estimator, which is broken. It specifically say to download the app for an accurate estimator. Except it doesn’t exist on the app.

### 2/5 — Hundreds of dollars to use

*2023-11-08, version 3.0.85*

People saying this is too expensive to use are not lying. For context, when I looked, it was $400-$600 for a 30-40 min ride to the airport. that’s probably worth it to some people that sometimes, but just so folks know before you download.

### 2/5 — Glitchy app

*2022-08-30, version 3.0.62*

I’m excited to use this service, however the app seems to be very very glitchy. I had problems registering so it took me awhile to even get in to the app. Now I’m trying to read the FAQ and the page will come up for a second and then refresh and not be readable. Overall the interface doesn’t seem great which means I’ll likely use the app less frequently.

### 2/5 — I read the reviews it was expensive but OMG

*2022-08-04, version 3.0.61*

I read the reviews prior to downloading that it was expensive. However I’m ok with spending more for peace of mind and quality. It’s not just expensive, it’s prohibitively and astronomically expensive. Almost laughable. I can buy a car, and pay a part time employee for less than using this app. If you’re in a pinch then maybe but for me who needs weekly service, 2 days a week, it’s just not a wise way to spend money. I could buy a $1000 a month car and pay a part time employee $100/hour + gas and insurance for what this would cost. Just giving you an idea when people say it’s expensive, how expensive we’re really talking about.

### 2/5 — Way Too Expensive!

*2020-08-14, version 2.18.5*

I can have someone ride to school in an Uber and pick up my child and then ride home with them in another Uber for less than a one way ride with this service. So disappointing. We would have used it 6 days a week if it were even close to reasonably priced.
