### 5/5 — Question

*2023-12-26*

When will there be an upgrade for this app?

### 5/5 — New features

*2023-07-24*

It is nice but it would be more nice if you make an update that includes new features.

### 5/5 — Better ideas

*2023-06-09*

I love Kid Pix, but the question is when are they going to come up with an update to make this app better? I hope they’ll let us know.

### 5/5 — Question

*2023-02-19, version 1.0*

When will there be an update to improve that fun app?

### 5/5 — iPad Pro/Air support

*2022-05-19, version 1.0*

I love this app, it’s almost as great as Kid Pix 4, which I used as a kid. One thing I’d like to see added is support for the new iPad Pro/Air screen size; right now, it has black bars on the top and bottom which make it less immersive. Otherwise, this is a great portable version of Kid Pix!

### 5/5 — Brings back memories from when I was younger

Bring back memories from when I was younger

### 5/5 — Return of a Classic!

*2021-02-06, version 1.0*

I first jumped on the Kid Pix bandwagon back in 1991 when it was released for the first generation of Macs. In fact, the reason we got the Macintosh LC instead of the Classic II the following year was to run this amazing program in color!
30 years later, it is great to see it around and updated for a new generation of children. Kid Pix has always been a top program for both creativity and exploratory learning. While the interface may have changed, it is nice to see some elements remaining, such as some of the sound effects and the original rubber stamps. (If only the firecracker eraser were still in the program). Kid Pix transfers nicely to the iPad in terms of usability and has some new features that even stun this longtime fan of the program.
While I still have that Macintosh LC, it’s nice to know we now have a modern version of an all time classic. This one is definitely deserving of the five star rating and is worth the money.

### 5/5 — Wish i could rate higher

Helps grow my youtube channel makes animating easy and fun

### 5/5 — The Best!

*2020-04-28, version 1.0*

We had this app years ago on our computer and loved it. Guess what? We still love it. KidPix rocks! It’s totally awesome. I think it has almost everything that the old KidPix had plus more. And the customer service is amazing! Get it, you won’t regret it!

### 5/5 — Absolutely Awesome

*2019-11-08, version 1.0*

I was worried that MacKiev may go under with the release of Catalina. Not did they not go under, but they released a new version of Kid Pix to accompany the new version for the Mac. Frankly, I am shocked that anyone would give this less than 5 stars. It is MARVELOUS on the iPad. It is nearly identical to the Mac OS version, which is a feat of stunning engineering, considering the paltry versions of formerly great pieces of software like iSpy from Scholastic. This is a masterpiece and has set the bar very high. Well done, MacKiev. I could kiss you!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No. Don’t get it.

*2025-06-19, version 1.0*

The older versions of kid pix were cool. This isn’t. There is so much less color, the sounds are embarrassingly worse than before, and every slide from a slideshow just fills up the picture space. If you want a legit version of kid pix, then get kid pix 3D. It’s better, and doesn’t fill space.

### 3/5 — So disappointing!

*2022-12-20, version 1.0*

I have used Kid Pix since it first came out, and this version is disappointing. It doesn’t offer the range of colors that the old one had, and the help menu is no help. I am losing functions every time I use it. Last night the print option disappeared from the menu after printing 4 pages, and I had 7 more to do. And there are never updates or bug fixes on the App Store. 😢

### 4/5 — Creative and fun!

*2025-06-03*

This game is a “edutainment” app. I call it “edutainment” because it is a bit educational but a BUNCH of entertainment! It’s creative and fun because it can let you make art, draw doodles, or make a slideshow. It’s the 5th version of the classic: “kid pix” this app is quite expensive and it downloads a little bit… slow but it’s worth it! So let’s do a comparison, to the first one to the 5th one! So… let’s do it! The first kid pix has a TOTALLY different logo actually I think that was before the K had not have nose (I think) so… yeah… WAIT actually I noticed that it actually doesn’t matter about the 5 games it only matters if all of them has a good case of fun!

### 4/5 — One glitch…

*2023-07-30, version 1.0*

First, I want to point out that kid pix 5 is very good! But there is one glitch that is frustrating! The glitch is, undo guy sometimes doesn’t say anything. It might not be much but it sure is frustrating. Also for people reading this if some of the brushes don’t work, try reopening the game, at least that’s what I did to make it work.

### 4/5 — Solid mobile Kid Pix, but missing some features

*2019-07-26, version 1.0*

Kid Pix introduces several new features that build off of older versions. It’s fun to have a version of it that can be used without a computer, but this new edition is missing some things as well.

The drawing tool size is quite small on even the largest size, and this carries over into the wacky brushes. Also, there seems to be a lot fewer colors than seen in Kid Pix 3D, and I’m kind of sad that the iconic Kid Pix theme song didn’t return in this one.

This being said, Kid Pix has been ported to mobile nicely, and features like the stamp editor are easier to use than ever.

Overall, Kid Pix 5 is worth it if you’re a fan of the series, but it does pale in some aspects.

Also, here’s some bugs: The Undo Guy doesn’t speak when pressed sometimes, and some of the wacky brushes don’t work, like the spinning prism. Thank you!
