### 3/5 — Good, but sitter experience needs improvement.

*2025-07-28*

I have been using the Kiddo app as a babysitter for a while now and while I absolutely adore some of the families I have met through it, I feel as if the app is heavily skewed in favour of parents. As a sitter, there is very little protection or power if you encounter a problematic client. I have been hit, spat at, and sworn at by children and I hesitate to leave an honest review because I know they can still rate me in return, and they have access to far more personal information about me than I have them. Recently I have had a parent demand I send them images of my license claiming that the app says they HAVE to see it - I declined as I was not driving their child anywhere so think receiving an image of my license is unnecessary, and I have also never received this request in the past. I have also had parents arrive home late and then not adjust it in the app and there is absolutely nothing I can do in this situation which I do not think is fair.

Another issue is the way reviews are displayed. You can’t choose which reviews are displayed on your profile which means a well-meaning but poorly worded review can sometimes distract from other good ones. I would love the option to pin or highlight reviews that represent me best, while still keeping the full star average for full transparency.

There is a lot to love about the app, but I really hope future updates will take the sitter experience more seriously and create a safer, more balanced platform for both sides.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you so much for your honest and thoughtful review. We truly value the care you provide and are grateful to have you as part of the Kiddo team.
As a long-term babysitter, we would’ve appreciated you reaching out to us directly, our team always welcomes feedback and is here to help clarify any concerns.

To confirm:
All carers on Kiddo are ID and Working with Children checked, so there’s no need to share personal documents. The parent’s request sounds like a one-off. We do encourage parents 'sight' Babysitters ID on arrival - this is to ensure the correct person arrives at their house to provide care - you can understand why we ask for this when arriving at a booking, we take trust and safety seriously. This applies to everyone that is on the platform - children, parents and carers. You can block families if you prefer not to be rebooked and are encouraged to provide private feedback at any time, you can do so direct in the app or emailing us.
For overtime, you can message the parent in-app as a reminder - they simply select the overtime amount and funds are paid to you. Or contact us, we’ll happily help facilitate top-up payments. We display all reviews to ensure transparency, no doubt parents would scroll through all to understand reviews given by everyone :)
Kiddo is mum-run, and we truly care about every carer’s experience. Please feel free to contact us anytime at hello@kiddoapp.com.au 💙

### 5/5 — Awesome App - Changes Needed

*2025-06-22, version 3.0.59*

I love the app. However, there are some changes that desperately need to be made. When a parent posts a job and we “apply” for it, sometimes the parent takes a few days to choose one of the applicants.

I have other companies I work for, so if the parent is indecisive, it prevents me booking in other jobs.

If the parent ends up not choosing me, I’ve missed out on work for that day.

It would be awesome to be able to back out of a job BEFORE you are chosen. Life changes and family stuff comes up too. Once 12 or so hours have passed, and the parent hasn’t locked anyone in, the job should expire or we should be able to change our mind and take another job.

Love everything about Kiddo but would like to see that upgrade. 😄

### 5/5 — Best Babysitting & carers App

*2025-06-20, version 3.0.59*

The App is Number 1 App for parents and carers! Try it and won’t never look anywhere else.!

### 5/5 — Kiddo better than the competition

*2025-06-03, version 3.0.55*

I downloaded a couple of babysitting apps at the same time, Kiddo and Sittr. The support at Sittr has been non-existent, they won’t even provide me with a tax invoice or receipt! Meanwhile at Kiddo the support responded right away within the same day and went above and beyond to help me. Every babysitter I’ve used has been fantastic and it’s been such a smooth experience. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great service

*2025-04-24, version 3.0.52*

Best App!
Very easy to use for Parents and Carers. Parents who use it for the first time are feeling confident to choose a babysitter as they have access to reviews and the number of jobs completed by each carer.

### 5/5 — Connecting accredited professional carers to families

*2025-01-11, version 3.0.51*

This is a great resource for booking carers for families and my experience with the carer we booked was just fantastic for our 4 month old. Will be using this app in the future!

### 5/5 — Babysitter

*2024-10-09*

I’m a babysitter, I have been through so many apps trying to get a babysitting job and have never been able to get one. Once I come upon this app( Kiddo) I’ve been so lucky! I’ve found a job and so many more jobs have requested me! Which is amazing makes me know that I have other options with other babysitting jobs. The app is very simple to use, you get paid through Kiddo too! I really recommend downloading Kiddo and giving it a go, you won’t regret it!

**Developer response:** Thank you for leaving us such a kind review - we are proud and passionate about helping people live their best lives - this goes for our Babysitters, Nannies and Support Workers. Being able to empower our communities with further income opportunities makes us so proud!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — They don’t reply

*2026-01-02, version 3.0.66*

I have verified my WWCC as asked for - even though I think it is a bit of a rip off to pay to get it verified. Now on the app, it is still saying my WWCC is pending being verified even though this was done days ago. I’m yet to receive any response from the company, even emailing and contacting their instagram account multiple times. Looking at their instagram I can see they only promote female babysitters so there could be a hint of discrimination about not being given a response

### 1/5 — Significant Platform Flaws Hinder Service Delivery and Communication

*2025-09-28*

As a Support Worker, I have found this platform to be fundamentally flawed and inefficient. My experience is defined by two major problems: a severe lack of work opportunities and a broken communication system.

1. Lack of Work Options: There are insufficient parents requiring support in the app, resulting in a low volume of work, matches, and confirmed bookings.

2. Communication Failures: The inability to secure the limited work available is worsened by platform design flaws:

Parents frequently match with workers but fail to initiate contact or confirm the service, leaving potential bookings in limbo.

The worker has no ability to proactively reach out to a parent who has made a booking, forcing us to passively wait for a confirmation that rarely arrives.

Crucially, the app lacks any direct support or communication channel to resolve these issues, even with a premium subscription.

The poor design creates a critical lack of interaction between workers, participants, and the platform developers. Until these technical failures and the low volume of available work are addressed, I cannot recommend this app; it is inefficient and a waste of both time and money.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We really appreciate your feedback.

Kiddo is primarily designed as a platform for babysitting and nanny care, helping parents find trusted, verified local carers quickly and easily. The system is intentionally set up so that parents initiate contact after viewing a carer’s profile, this keeps things simple for families and avoids carers feeling overwhelmed by messages from multiple users. We are here to simplify things and ensure parents have choice and control.

While many amazing support workers also use Kiddo, our app is best suited to casual babysitting, nannying, and family care rather than dedicated support work.

We truly value your experience and will keep your comments in mind as we continue improving communication and connection features for both parents and carers. 💛

### 1/5 — Carers cancelling last minute, no shows and delayed refunds

*2025-09-04, version 6.0.63*

I’ve have had a number of carers accept a booking and cancel including the most recent experience of a carer not showing up at the time the booking was due to commence. I’ve also had delays in being reimbursed refunds (as you are required to pay for care in full when the booking is accepted) and am still awaiting a refund from the no-show carer and it has been nearly a week now despite regular communication with the company contacts regarding the refund issue.

### 1/5 — Don’t download

*2025-06-22, version 3.0.59*

Need $10~ to register, and job boards only offer babysitting with “upgrade to apply”. Don’t waste your time and money.

### 1/5 — App needs updating

*2025-03-27, version 3.0.51*

As a career I have applied for many jobs finding parents are not responding if at all to accepting anyone to the last minute and there is no where to cancel the job once applied as I can’t turn down other work if parents want to book me and I’m still waiting to see if the parent on the app need a me for the job
Have emailed admin many times no response

### 1/5 — Worst Customer Service

*2025-03-08, version 3.0.51*

Had issues starting up an account. Contacted their support team numerous times over 2 weeks and heard nothing. App deleted

### 1/5 — too many fees

*2025-01-23, version 3.0.51*

Lengthy process to sign up then charged to have documentation verified. Would be fine if there were jobs available but there aren’t…. You have to then pay for a subscription to receive jobs. The rare free job that shows up is then taken away when you apply and added to the subscription section. Biggest rip off of an app. Do not join.

### 1/5 — not recommended

*2023-08-28, version 3.0.24*

the worst app.. you have been charged for nothing

### 1/5 — Half an hour to sign up then I found out I need to pay

*2023-06-29, version 3.0.22*

It took my half an hour as a nanny/babysitter to go through the sign up process only to find out I needed to pay to get my WWCC verified. Absolutely appalling! There are ways to get a WWCC verified without needing to pay. The fee was also not disclosed at the beginning when I started the sign up process otherwise I would have cancelled then and there.

In response to the developers response my big issue with the whole process was how the fees weren’t told UPFRONT and I had to spend half an hour singing up to finally find that out.

### 1/5 — A lot of charges may apply

*2023-03-11, version 3.0.18*

The app is not really for non-techy people. Lots of charges to apply. However, getting in touch with them is great they respond or give a callback right away but, it takes forever to get into action about your concerns.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing service!

*2026-01-10, version 3.0.66*

Tia was amazing! She just made our life so easy by taking the last min booking! She did craft and played. She’s so kind and the kids loved her! Highly recommend and will definitely book again!!

### 5/5 — Great business!

*2025-12-08, version 3.0.66*

Easy and stress free way to find in home support worker.

### 5/5 — Great App for Busy Parents

*2025-12-06, version 3.0.66*

I’ve been using Kiddo to find carers for my toddler twins and it has honestly been a lifesaver on several occasions. The app is easy to use and gives me real peace of mind knowing I can find trusted help when I need it. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — So great!

*2025-11-21, version 3.0.66*

I’ve been using Kiddo for a few years now & it’s been so great! It makes things so much easier to navigate bookings and specific needs of the children before accepting a babysitting job. I rave about it to everyone I meet!

### 5/5 — Awesome babysitters

*2025-11-21, version 3.0.66*

Great app. Simple to use. Matches parents with available babysitters.

### 5/5 — Great Service

*2025-09-24, version 6.0.63*

So thankful for Kiddo! It’s great to be able to find care when it really matters. Love the reviews and ratings and also being able to find babysitters when we are travelling!

### 5/5 — Needs feature added please

*2025-08-03, version 3.0.62*

I was left waiting for one week because a parent wouldn’t choose their sitter from among the applicants, quickly. During this time, I couldn’t book any other work for that date. Sitters need to be able to “opt out” of a job they have applied for once parents don’t make a decision within 12 hours. Once the sitter has been chosen, I understand we have to do the job. But prior to the parents choosing and locking us in, we need to be able to book someone else in. We can’t be left hanging like that. A week is too long to be locked into a “maybe” when we are getting other job offer privately or other agencies.

### 5/5 — What a relief

*2025-07-12, version 3.0.60*

What an amazing app! The kids love the variety (and the regular) babysitters available and it’s so easy to use, especially with my shift working schedule. Thanks Kiddos app 🩷

### 5/5 — Love this App

*2025-06-26, version 3.0.59*

Game-Changer for Parents – This Babysitter App is a Lifesaver!

I honestly don’t know how I managed before discovering this app. It’s genius in every way! From the seamless interface to the incredibly thorough vetting process, everything is designed with parents’ peace of mind in mind.

### 5/5 — Great app and Setvice

*2025-06-24, version 3.0.59*
