Would be a wonderful adjunct to diabetic patients to periodically self test on a regular basis. So simple and efficient. I highly recommend this. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Instructions sucked *2021-04-29, version v9.3.0* Too many and too long of instructions for that simple task and the instructions are not in one place and have to to the app on phone to know what’s coming and you never know what’s coming it strings you along one step a time with no overview ahead of time. And the kit arrived in mail with no reference to my doctor and they never told me snd I thought it might be a scam. I didn’t know it was legit until I saw on my doctors portal that this was overdue. ### 2/5 — Test not needed *2022-01-27, version 9.11.0* This was a waste of my time I was told 26 years ago I had kidney issues from my endocrinologist when I had sugar in my urine I’ve been taking pills ever cents they test my kidneys every year with blood work so you told me nothing new I guess now I have to have so many words before to let me send because the sand isn’t coming up blue finally ### 2/5 — Kidney home test kit *2021-12-12, version 9.11.0* This kit is very easy to use. A lot of time and money was invested to achieve this noteworthy goal. Unfortunately the kit results does not agree with my formal lab results for kidney function assessment. The app method is good if you’re using the kit without internet connectivity, but is otherwise an inefficient use of app development since most users will only conduct this home test once. ### 3/5 — Are you serious? *2022-08-14, version 9.18.0* I am 82 years old. If my daughter didn’t do this for me if would have been impossible for me. I have a flip phone and I have never used a smart phone. It is clear what age I am , take this inconsideration when sending out elderly people a do it your self kit. I didn’t like all the reminder phone calls I received. People were hard to understand and always came up as unknown caller on the phone. Identified themselves as being from Medica but would be better if phone number showed the call coming from Medica especially with all the senior fraud. ### 3/5 — Directions could be better *2022-04-21, version 9.12.0* I would prefer to also have printed directions since I’m hard of hearing. Also when you are checking to see if the kit contains all the components the pocket labeled “dipstick” contains an envelope labeled, “ACR Reagent Strip.” This Strip is actually the dipstick. The envelope should be labeled ACR Reagent Strip Dipstick to avoid confusion. ### 3/5 — Results too vague for me *2021-04-01, version v9.0.0* This kit might be useful for those who don’t know what their kidney function is, and aren’t in the care of a nephrologist. However, the results are too vague for those hoping to track progress or share results with their kidney specialist, since it’s given in terms of one of three rather broad ranges. When I attempted to put in my phone number it was hard . Two numbers went in with the +1. I had to call and get help to straighten it out. The development of the instructions is excellent but some housekeeping guidelines should be included and perhaps even some towelettes included.
