My special needs son is non verbal. Category pictures would allow him to say if he is hungry or if he wants a bath. Then inside a category once you set a card and record audio there should be an edit button. Otherwise touching the card should just pull it up and play the audio. Older kids would probably get bored. I took photos of stuff around the house and recorded my voice with the objects name.
