## What is Kidube?

Kidube — the family video app you actually control.

Kidube is an ad-free, parent-curated video platform where your children only ever see the videos you've chosen. No open browsing, no search, and no surprises — just the content you approve, delivered through a beautiful app that makes screen time calm instead of stressful.

Parents choose Kidube because it removes everything that makes screen time hard. Videos in Kidube's own library never show ads — not before, during, or after — so your kids get screen time without the marketing. You pick every video, curating exactly what each child watches; nothing appears in your kid's feed unless you put it there. And because there's no search and no open browsing, kids can't wander their way into content you didn't choose. The autoplay-into-anything problem is simply gone.

The app is built around your family rather than around accounts. Kids aren't accounts — each child simply taps their own profile on your unlocked device, with a name, avatar, and age band that you set. Built-in parental controls let you manage screen-time limits and per-kid settings, keep grown-up mode protected behind a parent PIN or pattern, and use live controls to play, pause, or turn off the screen right from your phone.

Above all, Kidube puts safety first. No content ever reaches a child without review, and there are no third-party ad or tracking SDKs anywhere in the kids' experience.

Kidube is for member households: open the app, sign in, and everything syncs to every device — each child's profile and feed, your curation, your limits and controls. Fill each feed from Kidube's ad-free library, or paste a link to add a video from around the web (linked videos play through their source's official player and can include that platform's ads). Hand the device to your child, and they'll only ever see what you approved.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 0.1.7 — 2026-08-17

This update fixes minor bugs.

### 0.1.6 — 2026-08-10

This update fixes minor bugs.

### 0.1.5 — 2026-08-09

This update brings kid devices: turn a spare phone or tablet into your child's own Kidube device by scanning a QR code from your parent app, and it stays safely locked in kid mode until you take it back with an easy hand-over. Watching is much smoother too — player controls now respond reliably, videos flow correctly into the next one across your categories, and every home screen opens instantly.

Adding family videos is easier as well: pick them straight from your camera roll, see thumbnail previews in Your videos & audio, and jump from any video to its creator. You can now reset a forgotten password from the sign-in screen, and the parent gate uses a four-digit PIN with a smarter lockout.

### 0.1.4 — 2026-08-02

This update makes a child's own phone or tablet truly theirs: Kidube opens straight to their videos, with no parent area at all. Set up a new device by scanning a code, then rename it, hand it down, or disconnect it from your own app or kidube.com.

Screen-time limits now count across all of a child's devices, and reopening the app always returns to the child's profile, so the timer can't be reset and Kidube speaks 12 languages.

### 0.1.3 — 2026-08-02

Kidube now opens straight to your home screen with no waiting, and returning from a video feels instant. Videos you upload yourself finally play with full controls, you can pick them directly from your Photos library, and your uploads now show real thumbnails in Your videos and audio. Clips of up to one minute are suggested as Reels automatically.

Parents get more help and more control in this version. If you forget your password, you can reset it with a code sent to your email. The parent gate now takes exactly four digits and locks itself for longer and longer after repeated wrong tries, with a clear countdown on screen. In the Parent Library every video shows who made it, and tapping the creator's name opens their profile with all of their videos. If your membership needs attention, unlocking from the kids' screen takes you straight to the Subscription page, and Restore Purchases now explains that it only restores your Kidube membership, never anything from other apps.

Kids Lock has a full guide of its own now. In screen settings you will find a link to kidube.com/kids-lock with animated, step by step instructions for iPhone and iPad, from the first switch in Settings to handing the device over.

First time here? A short animated welcome walks you through what Kidube is: you bring in videos from around the web by link or upload your own, sort everything into categories you create, and your child sees only what you chose, reviewed by humans, with no ads on Kidube content.

We also added Hindi, bringing Kidube to twelve languages, fixed the fullscreen button when portrait lock is on, made videos start even in Low Power Mode, stopped the keyboard from covering sign in forms, and polished the iPad layout throughout.
