## What is KidWall?

Parental controls for iPhone and iPad that you run from your own phone: pause apps, set screen time limits and bedtimes, block social media and websites that aren't safe for kids, and get an alert when your kid arrives at places like school.

Built on Apple's Screen Time technology, KidWall runs on your child's device and is approved with your Apple Account so it can't simply be deleted. You pick the apps to block, limit or allow once on your kid's device, then pause, give extra time and change limits, bedtime and websites from your phone.

FROM YOUR PHONE
• A card for each kid's device shows at a glance whether apps are open, paused, at bedtime or out of time for today
• Pause all apps instantly — for dinner, homework or bedtime
• Give extra time from their card, or answer your kid's request for more time with one tap
• Change the daily limit, bedtime (a different one each night if you like) and website filtering remotely
• Get alerts when a limit is reached, bedtime starts, or your kid tries to open something blocked, and see recent ones in Activity
• See your kid's device on a map (when you turn location on)
• Get an alert when your kid arrives at or leaves places you set, like home or school

ON YOUR KID'S DEVICE
• Block apps and whole categories 24/7 — social media, games, anything you choose
• A daily limit on the apps you choose, with a warning before time runs out
• Bedtime: everything off except the apps you allow
• Web filter: Apple's website filter, KidWall's built-in lists of social media and other websites that aren't safe for kids, and sites you add; other browsers are hidden so they can't be used to get around it
• Prevents deleting apps, in-app purchases and passcode or account changes, and turns on Apple's content restrictions for music, podcasts and books
• An "Ask for more time" button sends the request straight to you

BOTH PARENTS
Add a second parent phone with the same family code — you both see the same kids and get the same alerts.

EASY SETUP
Step-by-step setup on your kid's device: approve with your Apple Account, choose starting rules, set a parent PIN and scan a code on your phone to connect. A checklist on your phone shows what's left and helps you fix it. Your child needs a child Apple Account in your Family Sharing group.

HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT
Help & guides explain what KidWall can and can't do, and our game & chat safety guides show where popular games and apps keep their own parent controls.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your kids' names, rules, locations and alerts are encrypted with your family code before they leave the device. We can't read them, and neither can anyone without your code. No ads, no tracking, no reading messages.

KIDWALL PREMIUM
Remote control, alerts, location, place alerts and multi-parent control require KidWall Premium. Choose monthly or yearly; each starts with a 7-day free trial. One subscription covers your Family Sharing group. Without Premium, kids' devices keep enforcing their current rules.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at the end of the free trial unless you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

### 5/5 — Made by a parent, for parents!

*2026-10-03*

I’m so proud of my husband for creating KidWall. He took his knowledge, skills, and experience and built an app that solves a problem we actually deal with as parents. Being able to manage our kids’ screen time, pause apps, set limits and make changes right from our own phones is so convenient. I’ve watched how much time and thought he has put into making KidWall useful, simple, and safe for families. I’m excited to see other parents using something he worked so hard to create!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-11-06

Small improvements and fixes.

### 1.2 — 2026-11-03

New: a fresh look
• Your home is now the Family tab, with a card for each kid's device. Pause and Extra time are right on the card. When your kid asks for more time, answer at the top: +15 min, +30, +60 or No.
• Four tabs: Family, Places, Activity and More. Activity shows recent alerts by day.
• Tap a card for your kid's page: Pause, Extra time, Locate and Rules, plus today's bedtime, daily limit, websites and location.
• Edit rules starts with a short summary. Tap Daily limit, Bedtime, Websites or another rule to change it on its own page.
• After you save or pause, KidWall tells you when it arrived, like "Emma's iPhone has your new rules."

New: step-by-step setup
• Setting up your kid's iPhone or iPad now goes one step at a time: approve with your Apple Account, choose starting rules, add a name and parent PIN, scan your phone's code, pick apps and turn on notifications.
• Give the device a name if you like, such as "school iPad". Your phone then shows "Emma's school iPad".
• Each kid's card shows "Finish setup" until setup is done, with a Fix button for anything that needs it.
• On your kid's device, Parent settings starts with "Setup on this device", which checks each step.

New for your kid
• A new home screen shows free time, a pause, extra time or time's up, and turns to night at bedtime.
• The parent PIN has a number keypad.

New: Help & guides
• More → Help & guides explains what KidWall can and can't do, and how to fix common problems.
• Game & chat safety guides for popular games and apps show where each one's own parent controls are. KidWall can't read chats in any app.

Please update
• Update KidWall on your phone, the other parent's phone and each kid's device. If "Block installing apps" is on there, turn it off in Edit rules → Stop workarounds until the update installs.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-31

New: bedtime that fits your week
• Bedtime can now be different each night, like later on Fridays and Saturdays: Edit rules → Bedtime → Custom.
• Extra time now works at bedtime too. Always blocked apps and a pause stay on.
• Both need this update on your kid's device too.

New: a bigger built-in website list
• Edit rules → Web filter has a new built-in list of 20 more websites that aren't safe for kids. It's on by default.
• Tap "See the 17 sites" or "See the 20 sites" to see each list. Each site has its own switch to turn it off.

Fixed
• Edit rules now shows every site you blocked. Tap one to change it, or tap the red minus to remove it.
• Apple's web filter takes no more than 50 sites, so KidWall now stops at 49, built-in lists included.

Also in this update:
• If Apple's approval fails on your kid's device, KidWall now says why and how to fix it. Set up your own phone by mistake? Tap "This is my phone, not my kid's" (or "This is my phone, go back" if it already showed an error).
• Pairing takes only a complete code and says if it didn't connect.
• "Remote control from my phone" is now "Connect to parent's phone".
• Update KidWall on your kid's device too. If "Block installing apps" is on there, turn it off until the update installs.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-08

New: Places
• Add places like Home, School or Grandma's and get an alert when your kid arrives or leaves. Set the spot on a map, search an address, use your kid's location, or tap "Use my location" where you're standing.
• Place alerts need KidWall 1.1 on your kid's device, with location set to Always and Precise Location on.

Also in this update:
• Unpairing a kid's device now turns off location sharing, and your kid's home screen shows when their location is shared.
• Too many wrong parent PINs on a kid's device now means a wait before the next try.
• Changes from your phone stick more reliably on your kid's device, even when several things happen at once.
• The new KidWall logo.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-07

Bug fixes:
• Saving changes in Edit rules no longer turns off a pause. Pause and resume now live on your kid's page (Pause all apps now / Resume apps).
• More reliable remote control: KidWall now tells you if a save or a device removal didn't go through, and two parents editing the same rules at once no longer overwrite each other.
• Update KidWall on your kid's device too. If "Block installing apps" is on for that device, turn it off until the update installs.
