## What is Kiji?

Kiji puts your tasks, notes and habits in one place, on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

KIJI REQUIRES A SUBSCRIPTION
An auto-renewing subscription (or the one-time Lifetime purchase) is required to use Kiji. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. Every feature described below is included in every plan; the plans differ only in how many photos and videos you can keep. There are no ads and nothing else to buy.

TASKS ON BOARDS (included in every plan)
• Every project is a board, and every board is a kanban: To Do, In Progress, Done.
• Drag a card between columns, switch to a checklist when you just want to tick things off, or to a calendar to see your month and your week.
• Type "tomorrow at 5pm" in a todo's title and the deadline and the reminder are set for you.
• Start dates, deadlines, notes and reminders on every todo, and a widget for what is due soon.
• Keep your dated todos in Apple Calendar as well, if you like. A change on either side reaches the other.
• A soft tick and a little confetti when you finish one. Turn the sounds off in Settings if you prefer quiet.

DOCUMENTS THAT HOLD MORE THAN TEXT (included in every plan)
• Headings, lists, quotes, code and checklists, with bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and highlight.
• Add photos and video straight into the page. They sync with it, within your plan's media allowance.
• Export to PDF, Word, HTML or Markdown.
• Keep documents in folders — nested, colored and sorted by category — and pin them to Home as a widget.

HABITS (included in every plan)
• Track what you do daily or on chosen weekdays, and see the last two weeks at a glance.
• Type what you did in your own words — "two glasses", "half an hour" — and Kiji works out the number.

A HOME YOU ARRANGE (included in every plan)
• Pin boards, single todos, documents, habits, a calendar, "due soon" and "recently added" as widgets.
• Drag them, resize them, color them. Four sizes, your order.
• Stats that show what you finished this week and what is still open, day by day.

ONE ACCOUNT, EVERY DEVICE (included in every plan)
• Start without an account. Create one with Apple, Google or email when you want everything on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
• Changes sync in the background. Work offline and it catches up.
• A Mac app with a real sidebar and three columns, not a stretched phone screen.
• Your recent todos on Apple Watch, and todo and calendar widgets for the Home Screen.
• Lock Kiji with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.

MADE TO BE QUICK (included in every plan)
• Pull down on any tab to capture a thought before it goes.
• Share text, links, photos and video to Kiji from other apps.
• Search across boards, todos, documents and habits.
• A short welcome that asks what matters to you and sets up your first boards and habits to match.
• Light and dark, Dynamic Type, and ten languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-10-03

Start without an account, type when a todo is due, and see every board as a calendar.

• Use Kiji before you make an account. Create one whenever you like to have everything on your other devices, and what you made comes with you.
• Type when, and Kiji sets it. "Call Sam tomorrow at 5pm" sets the deadline and the reminder as you write, in all ten languages.
• Every board has a calendar. See your todos by month or by week, and drag one to another day to move it.
• Todos have a start date as well as a deadline. A todo you move to In Progress starts today.
• Apple Calendar: turn it on in Settings and your dated todos appear in a Kiji calendar. Change a date there and the todo follows.
• Calendar widgets for your Home Screen, and a calendar card for Home in Kiji.
• Share to Kiji from other apps: text, links, photos and videos become a todo or a document.
• Folders in the list swipe for their actions, as documents do.
• A plan belongs to one account. If yours is in use by another account, Kiji says so and tells you what to do.
• Typing in long documents is faster, and syncing does less work in the background.
• Habit amounts are read correctly in all ten languages.
• Many fixes that make Kiji steadier.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-28

More say over your data, clearer plans, and documents written in Markdown.

• Documents are now Markdown pages. Headings, lists, links and code take shape as you type, and Markdown files come in from the Documents page, with a drop, or from another app.
• You decide whether Kiji shares usage analytics, and can change your mind any time in Settings › Privacy. Crash reports have a switch of their own and never include anything you wrote.
• Export my data, in Settings › Privacy, puts your boards, todos, documents, folders, habits and pictures in a single .zip.
• Your data stays yours: export it or delete your account at any time, even without a plan.
• Redeem an offer code right from the plans screen. Lifetime codes now unlock Kiji on every device signed in to your account.
• The plans screen marks the plan you have and says exactly what an upgrade, a downgrade or a switch will do.
• New subscribers can try Kiji free for 3 days.
• New built-in sounds, now with a volume control.
• When you lock Kiji, your widgets and your Apple Watch hide what's inside too.
• Easier for everyone: Reduce Motion is respected throughout, VoiceOver can move cards up and down a list, and the plan cards have clearer contrast.
• Many fixes that make Kiji steadier.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-25

Folders for your documents, a fuller Stats page and a steadier search.

• Folders: file your documents in folders, nest them, and give each a colour, an icon and a category. Drag a document onto a folder to put it inside, or rest one document on another to make a folder of both.
• Folders follow the grid or list layout you choose, and glide between the two.
• A new Folders widget for Home shows one folder and what is in it, or several side by side.
• Search now finds folders too, by name or by category.
• Soft sounds when you finish a todo or reach a habit's goal. Pick them, or turn them off, in Settings.
• Kiji lets you know when a new version is out.
• Stats is now a page of cards: your week as a chart, todos by status, your streak, thirteen weeks at a glance, your weekly rhythm and where the open work is. Touch any of them to look closer.
• Search keeps its categories pinned at the top while you scroll, and the last results no longer hide under the keyboard.
• Choosing a category in search no longer closes it.
• The Settings title no longer disappears after you scroll.
• Habit rows show today's progress in the corner, and the home greeting reads a little softer.
• Widgets without a colour of their own let a little of the background through.
• Many smaller fixes, including reminders that keep up with changes made on your other devices.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-24

A welcome that asks, a lock on the door, and a few sounds.

• New here? Kiji asks four short questions and sets up your first boards, habits and a note to match.
• A short tour shows you where things are the first time you open the app.
• Lock Kiji with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and choose how long it may be away before it asks again.
• Sign in with Google, alongside Apple and email.
• A soft chime when a habit is done, a tick when a todo is, and a tone when a notification arrives while Kiji is open. Volume and an off switch live in Settings.
• Confetti now bursts out of the todo you ticked, in the board's colours.
• Stats, redrawn: a day-by-day chart of what you finished, with the week and the month in one glance.
• Settings, redrawn: one page of cards, with your plan, appearance, language, notifications, sounds and privacy each in their place.
• Pull down on any tab to capture something new, not only on Home.
• Search results can be swiped away, and habits show up in search too.
• A notifications inbox keeps what arrived while you were away.
• Kiji tells you when a newer version is on the App Store.
• Kanban columns let a little of the board's colour through.
• Quieter launch, fewer stray log lines, and the iPad keeps its bell in the toolbar.
