### 4/5 — Great app

*2020-09-25, version 0.12.1*

Nice to simple interface, tonnes of free puzzles, no annoying features or interruptions

Edit: knocking off a star as the app does occasionally interrupt your game with a VERY loud advert which has caused me embarrassment in front of friends/acquaintances on many an occasion

### 4/5 — Will not open

*2020-08-26, version 0.11.8*

Quite good until latest update, now it will not open on my iPad.
Update: possibly because I am using iOS version 9.3.5. My iPad will not update to a later version. I am having this problem with some other apps.

### 5/5 — User-friendly and makes killer sudoku teachable!

*2020-08-14*

This is my favorite app for killer sudoku. As advertised, it has a clean and uncluttered aesthetic. For my purposes, I appreciate the “validations” set up within the gameplay. (Which is the equivalent of pestering your teacher to make sure that your work is on the right track.) I find that this structure helped me master the techniques faster and provided positive reinforcement that I needed while facing my childhood fear of “killer” sudoku.
I recommend this app for beginners and expert players alike!

### 5/5 — Pencil marks

*2020-07-28, version 0.11.4*

Pencil marks are easy with this app. It’s easy to use and not complicated. I like not being bombarded with adverts!

### 5/5 — A gem

*2020-07-25, version 0.10.6*

So pleased to have found this app! It offers a comfortable amount of support without smothering and making the solution almost automatic. A treasure at a time when I need the diversion. Thank you so much.

### 5/5 — Something’s missing, edited to say it’s me!

*2020-07-01, version 0.8.4*

It’s not a bad app, the summing facility is good, but there’s no way I can pencil-in possible values to assist my thought processes when solving. I’m used to seeing this in my regular sudoku app, and would keep this app if that was an option. kind regards, K33F
Update to say, I found the pencil-in facility and now I’m really loving the app. Probably needs better explanation but I found it soon enough without.
Further update to say that medium puzzle 5.3 has two correct solutions as can be demonstrated quite easily
Further updated to say, oops, I was wrong. My other solution didn’t have the correct sums in two of the groups. My bad

### 4/5 — Enjoying the game although hard on my eyes

*2020-06-23*

I love killer sudoku game books. I am used to larger table and characters. I find the small version on the phone very hard for the eyes. I have tried to make it bigger but to no avail. Wish we could enlarge the game and character (sums) . Thanks!

### 4/5 — Addictive

*2020-06-15, version 0.4.3+12*

I have only just started playing this version, but have already completed the first level. There are hints about what number combinations are possible, and it sets the sets out in a way that you can usually work out some definite to start. There are opportunities to ‘cheat’ if you get stuck - you can regularly check whether you’ve got combinations right or not with the thumbs up/ thumbs down sign. It highlights what you’ve got wrong and gives you a chance to put it right. Haven’t tried the next level yet, I suspect I may need to use the ‘cheat’ rather more often.

### 4/5 — Vartkes Nalbandian

*2020-06-12, version 0.4.3+12*

I like it a lot. The only dysfunctional aspect of the game is the “sigma” function.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2020-06-08, version 0.4.3+12*

varying difficulty levels. I have been searching for a decent killer sudoku app for a long time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Monke 1960

*2021-03-21, version 2.2.1*

Too many adds

### 2/5 — Gone downhill fast

*2021-02-05, version 2.1.4*

A few months ago I gave this a 5 star review, but at about the start of this year I lost all the KS games that I was in the middle of (if I get stuck I like to go on to another then come back later) and the contents page disappeared (why! It was invaluable) and the new “History” page is useless because you can’t put it into any order that helps you to find the one(s) you’re looking for easily. And if you can’t finish one at any particular level you can’t try doing the next one at the same level. Frankly, it’s a mess.

It’s a great shame because it used to be so good that I’d happily have paid for it. I daren’t even buy any of the extra puzzles because it would probably do something crazy like disappear the ones I’m currently working on again.

### 3/5 — Great app - but

*2024-03-26, version 3.1.1*

Easy to use and great app, but some puzzles have more than one solution and some require guessing rather than deduction. Biggest problem is you soon run out of puzzles, even if you buy more, after two extra buys, no more are available, shame, have to know use alternative app.

Later addition: he did make more available to purchase but these soon ran out, then found when trying to buy more that he was just reselling the same ones and charging for them, they wouldn’t even work because the app recognised you had already solved them! Had to get Apple to refund, shame really was a great app.

### 3/5 — Quite cute, execution issues

*2021-07-09, version 2.2.1*

This is cute and the 8-cell variant is fun. The problem is that you don’t reliably know whether the erasure mechanism worked properly as it is very poorly marked, and by the time you come across a cell with wrong markings, there is no way to backtrack and you need to start all over again (unless you are looking for hints, which I don’t). Find a way to mark these more visibly and clearly, or people won’t stick with it.

### 3/5 — Potential, but!

*2020-06-11, version 0.4.3+12*

Nice clean interface, ability to to copy and paste brilliant!
However, the inability to insert a single number as a note makes this game almost unplayable. Also, lose the number combo suggestions. This is a puzzle, why give away the answers so easily? The space wasted with this could be better used as a proper note numbers area
Keep working on this please! It could be so good

### 4/5 — Good but want to redo completed puzzles

*2022-12-05, version 2.2.1*

So much fun but I wish I could redo the puzzle I have already completed. It would be fun to try and beat my time on them.

### 4/5 — Disable ads

*2022-07-03*

Best killer sudoku out there but I wish there was a way to pay to disable ads

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for a nice review Duoda! You can buy Premium to remove ads and also get unlimited validations.

### 4/5 — Great but could improve

*2021-11-04, version 2.2.1*

I’ve played a lot of sudoku apps and found many have useful features like:
Clearing notes in the same row and column etc when a number is discovered
And
Shading the different cages in different colours to help the player focus on the right cells.
This game doesn’t have those features but what is does do right is:
Minimal advertising
Loads of puzzles
Graded leveling of difficulty so you can push yourself with harder challenges.
I can live without the gimmicks and if the developers choose to improve then all the better.

### 4/5 — UI

*2021-09-09*

Hi nice touch providing the calculator and permutations. Please add the ability to mark multiple cells at a time. Like filling the cage with pairs of numbers

### 4/5 — Straightforward operation

*2020-12-31, version 1.5.8*

Works smoothly and intuitively.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent, love it.

*2024-12-06, version 3.1.1*

This app works so well, really well thought out and no ads…well not yet anyway but i’m sure they will come. Most of these games have so many ads that it becomes impossible to play anymore. Personally i’d rather just pay a one off fee to keep it ad free, I understand it’s not a public service but I will certainly never pay monthly. Anyway congratulations to whoever designed this, it’s perfect.

### 5/5 — Good!

*2023-10-25*

Fun game and love killer sudokus!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2023-09-17*

Like how it progresses from easy to difficult

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2023-08-19*

You have everything you need and nothing you don’t. Really great to get off the social media for a while and zone out on a puzzle. Thanks for the awesome app :D

**Developer response:** Lovely words jazzmartiiin. Happy solving!

### 5/5 — WAS my favorite game

*2023-01-15*

Loved the game! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️But ever since my app auto updated on 1/12/23 there is a huge glitch. When I select a box to enter a number. The number is placed in a different box than the one selected. Fix immediately please. Otherwise I give it a -⭐️

**Developer response:** Hi Newbie,

We have a few users reporting this and we hope that it is fixed in v3.0.4 which started rolling out a couple of days ago. What device are you using?

Thanks (a) for calling out the problem and especially (b) for doing so nicely :)

### 5/5 — Fun

*2023-01-02, version 2.2.1*

Easy to use, intuitive, well designed. No crazy graphics or flashy gimmicks.

### 5/5 — Gets harder with each level

*2022-11-06, version 2.2.1*

As a killer sudoku expert, I wasn’t sure when I started using this app as the first few puzzles were too easy. However, it gets harder with each level. There are four puzzles on each level and I’m up to level 5 and looking forward to continuing. Still easy at present but great for a 15-min coffee break. Would like to add that I like the grids. Some symmetry and no blocks with a single number (unlike some other less polished apps).

### 5/5 — The best

*2022-09-15, version 2.2.1*

This is the best Killer sudoku app I’ve come across. Nice simple interface (IMHO its better if you change the line colour to dark green in settings).
The way it handles pencil marks is brilliant. Just enter more than one number in a cell and it takes them as pencil marks without any need to toggle a special key first. The program just knows. And if there are already pencil marks in the cell, a longer tap ensures you input that single number and overwrite whatever was there before.
Also you can put numbers into more than one cell at a time. Just enter them in one cell and slide to copy to as many other cells as you want. What a time saver.
It’s utterly no fuss. The easiest data entry ever. This is the app I’ve been looking for ever since I discovered how much more fun Killer is than ordinary sudoku.

### 5/5 — Stuck on large 6.2

*2022-07-07, version 2.2.1*

Starting on a simple puzzle and gradually adding extra numbers.
Great if you are a newbie to killer sudoku. Also challenging to
keen puzzlers. I could only get so far here....

### 5/5 — Very good

*2020-10-21, version 0.12.1*

It takes a bit of getting used to and I can’t get one thing to work properly but I love this killer sudoku
