### 4/5 — Highlighting specific numbers

*2026-03-12, version 4.1*

Would like to be able to highlight all the 1s for example, added & in notes to see where the gaps are

### 5/5 — Changes are needed

*2026-02-19*

I really like this app, and I’ve purchased several sets. It’s completely ad-free. The functionality is very convenient and helps you enjoy the solving process rather than focusing on the math itself.
I would really love it if the developers added the numbers from 1 to 9 above the Sudoku grid while solving. Very often I have to mentally go through which numbers are still left, when I could simply look at the screen and see all the numbers at once.
Additionally, when using the combinations helper, it would be great if the first field for the sum were automatically selected. That way, I wouldn’t have to constantly tap and enter the number manually — I could just start typing right away, like on a calculator.

### 5/5 — Ads

*2026-02-11, version 4.1*

Love the lack of ads

### 5/5 — Still enjoying games

*2026-02-08, version 4.1*

I find these puzzles a good way to relax. I think I must have been playing over 30 years. As soon as I’ve finished them all I delete the app then restart it, that way you can do the puzzles over and over again! There’s so many of them you can never remember. But I am getting much quicker at finishing them. I’m very immobile with poor sight so can only do them on iPad now.😊⭐️

### 5/5 — awesome

*2026-02-01, version 4.1*

reinstalled a few times to replay. super cool!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2025-12-29, version 4.1*

Everything is perfect. It’s taken me several years of playing, but I’ve now completed. I’ll be uninstalling and then starting again. Easily the most played game I’ve ever had.

### 5/5 — Best for quality & quantity

*2025-12-18, version 4.1*

I’ve tried many Killer Sudoku! apps over the years and this is by far the most user-friendly.
There’s a really generous package of extra games for a reasonable price if you want them as well.
Fantastic diversity of skill levels suits everybody

### 4/5 — Quite good

*2025-11-01, version 4.1*

It was really good but took a while to load the numbers into the squares.

### 5/5 — Nearly perfect

*2025-10-21, version 4.1*

I have played through all the hundreds of puzzles twice and am part way through for a third time. There are too many to remember so why not play them again? They are an escape and almost like meditation in a screwed up world. I can imagine playing them years from now. This is an app that is so well thought out and executed. Thank you for making it such a joy.

### 5/5 — Best Killer Sudoku App

*2025-09-20, version 4.1*

I’ve really enjoyed this game. Great user interface. Just reached Impossible #200. No more games to play. I’m so sad! Thanks for an enjoyable experience.

### 5/5 — Outstanding app

Really easy to use, and has all the tools to solve puzzles. Really well developed, and extra puzzles very cheap to purchase

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-06-19*

Favourite killer sudoku app. However, I wished it saved your fastest time for each puzzle. Also, would love more free puzzles 😊

### 5/5 — Relaxing

*2025-05-09, version 4.1*

I find these puzzles a good way to relax. I think I must have been playing over 20years. As soon as I’ve finished them all I delete the app then restart it, that way you can do the puzzles over and over again! There’s so many of them you can never remember. ### 5/5 — Killer Sudoku

*2025-03-26, version 4.1*

This app is pure genius. I didn't think it was possible to design killer sudoku on screen. This is far better than the paper version. Well done and thanks. Sam

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-03-21*

Excellent version. As the developer notes - well thought out ability to make notes in multiple squares I am hoping you might release another pack of "impossible" some time soon

### 4/5 — Bring back the timer!!

*2025-02-12, version 4.1*

Loved the app, but since they removed the timer it’s not nearly as fun. I loved being able to see how much better I’ve gotten and trying to top my personal bests

### 2/5 — In-App Purchases cannot be re-loaded

*2025-02-04, version 4.1*

No way to reload in-app purchases if the app gets unloaded.

### 5/5 — Want some more of it!

*2025-01-16, version 4.1*

I’ve love this version of killer sudoku. Purchased all 3 packs and I’m almost finished with them on all levels. What will I do when I can’t play this?? Please tell me you’re working on #4

### 5/5 — Judy

*2025-01-09, version 4.1*

Simply the best killer sudoku I have tried. I love it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Problem

*2023-04-14, version 4.1*

after happily using the puzzles and buys I tried deleting the app and re-downloading it but the "Restore buys option does not work on my iphone 6+ running ios12

### 1/5 — Paid app with ads

*2022-04-03, version 4.1*

This is easily my favorite puzzle app ever, and I’ve been more than happy to spend money multiple times over the years on puzzle packs. That being said, I’ve spent like 20 dollars on puzzle packs, stop showing me ads for your other apps, I buy into premium apps specifically to avoid apps. Your pop up ads are super irritating because they pop up the instant I’m trying to start a puzzle and it backs me out and takes me to the App Store. I’m not interested in your other products, I’m interested in the one I already purchased.

### 1/5 — Colour update & auto delete pencil s should not be there

*2021-10-12, version 4.1*

Great app. Have played for years. BUT, a new update which make it easier by delineating the groups by colour & that automatically deletes the pencilled numbers is plain wrong.
Why dumb down the game?
So, so, so disappointing.
I’m almost at the point that I no longer want to play it.

### 1/5 — Can’t restore purchases

*2020-08-20, version 4.1*

I love this app, and have had it for years, but after my iPhone’s recent trip to the repair shop that required a reset, the app is not letting me restore the puzzle packs I had already purchased! I need my sudoku! Please fix this so I can give it the 5 stars I used to think it deserved.

### 1/5 — Please change back to old version!

*2020-07-18, version 4.1*

The new layout is very uncomfortable to look at, and stressful on my eyes. Can you put in an option to go back to the old layout please?

### 1/5 — 6/2/20 10:05 am pdt still app still not fixed. Be thorough in fixes.

*2020-06-21, version 4.1*

Update didn’t work Still not fixed. I deleted app and then downloaded again. I should be able to have all puzzles be open to do. But I can’t access 98% of them. Still Says in progress on puzzle and cant do anything with it. You didn’t fix this.

Thx for giving us landscape back. Works better then before.

It’s royally screwed up since 6/2020 update.I have enjoyed doing these puzzles for years but 2020 update messes it up big time.

1. It’s upside down now for those of us still on iPhone 8.
2. Can no longer use it on landscape which makes it difficult and bad for your hands and fingers on a iPad.
3. Your old font was better and easier on the eyes.
4. The green you chose isn’t easy on the eyes. It stresses them. Too brighta. Needs more matte
5. Worst is that you keep saying a puzzle is completed but you haven’t played it after renewing it. People play the puzzles over and over after purchasing them. And
6. And if it is completed why has it not been taken off the open puzzle list??? Like it always has been.

You rushed your redo. Not a good thing for the user.

Please spend some more time and more care on this update.
Thx. It would wonderful to be able to play it again with outall the problems.

### 1/5 — Broken....

*2020-06-21, version 4.1*

The latest update doesn’t allow a landscape option and after playing one game at any level prevents playing another game the same level. Come on guys sort this out!

### 1/5 — Updated version

*2020-06-20, version 4.0*

Was one of my favorite apps till last update.
No longer can play holding my screen horizontal.
All puzzles now show “puzzle completed” and can no longer be played.

### 1/5 — Bug city

*2020-06-20, version 4.0*

So many bugs in the newest version.

### 1/5 — New update is terrible

*2020-06-20, version 4.0*

I won’t be using this app any longer. I can no longer rotate screen to horizontal on iPad. Until I got the update today it was 5 stars.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Addictive!

*2026-08-26, version 4.1*

I find that the puzzles can be variable in difficulty in a strange way. Sometimes the hard ones are impossible and sometimes the impossible ones are easy. But in some ways that adds to the pleasure.

### 5/5 — By far, the best killer sudoku ios app

*2026-07-30, version 4.1*

It's a bit basic but that's all I want. I don't want unnecessary or over engineered UI elements.

On that note, UI is the best I've found for entering numbers, and the solution generator and calculator are nice additions.

If I had to criticise anything:
• Tapping to rule out potential solutions needs to be precise. If you accidentally tap between two solutions you can somehow select the actual square below the number pop up, deselecting the boxes you had highlighted. This is my biggest annoyance.
• The font size used for the sum of selected boxes is a bit small. It's not an issue during the day but if in bed with a low screen light, my eyesight can struggle to read it. For example, [132] was a problem last night.
• The calculator uses the same number buttons as at the bottom but there's no zero, so they added it to the calculator pop up. I'm used to it now but it's a bit jarring. I appreciate this was to keep the UI uncluttered and calculator popup small (and they're movable). I'm just wondering if there was a more elegant solution. A

Anyway, I've run out of all the puzzles (including the add-on packs), but there are so many I frequently go back to completed ones, clear them and try to beat my times.

I've turned all hints & error checks off but you can turn them on in an instant if you want to check something / where you went wrong. When I do this, I'll clear it and back out, do a different one and come back to it later. Got to have personal integrity when it comes to killer sudoku.

### 5/5 — Definitely great value

*2026-07-28, version 4.1*

What makes this sudoku special is the quality of the puzzles, the tools available to help take the game to the next level and no ads. It starts with encouraging easy levels but by the time you work up to the impossible levels, you have become areal expert. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Best of all

*2026-07-26, version 4.1*

Have played most Killer Sudoku apps and their so called 'Expert' levels are nothing of the kind: 5 or 6 numbers filled in within 2 or 3 minutes. This app is completely different - and the dual keyboard and multiple square pencil fill in tool is beautiful. Congrats to the developers. I've just finished all of the Impossible levels so am leaving this review in case I can't reload the app.

### 5/5 — Challenging puzzles, no ads

*2026-06-30, version 4.1*

This is the level of difficulty of puzzle I’ve been looking for. Really excellent. Handy calculator and combinations tools.

### 5/5 — My forever game

*2026-06-19, version 4.1*

Killer sudoku is awesome, and this version is the best because it lets me focus on strategy rather than too much math. By highlighting cells, it will add them for me. If I want to know all possible combinations, it will show me. When I have done all puzzles, I download the game again and start over. This is the perfect bathroom companion game.

### 5/5 — Definitely great value

*2026-06-08, version 4.1*

This is by far my favorite killer S. Easy to use, no ads, different levels of puzzles, lots of them, great extra features but not intrusive, worth every penny. I especially like the extra features which help with the math to solve some super challenging levels. SO satisfying! I have now bought a second bumper pack.

### 5/5 — Very addictive

*2026-05-08, version 4.1*

A great little package! Have completed it and was then able to reset and start over!

### 5/5 — Best Sudoku

*2026-05-05*

I have used a few different killer sudoku apps and this is by far the best. Definitely worth the small amount of money to buy a huge number of extra puzzles.

### 5/5 — Years of joy

*2026-02-21, version 4.1*

I’ve been playing this app for years now. It’s simple, to the point and fun. I love that it’s written by a fellow indy developer!
