It feels like I'm playing a mobile game rather than taking notes and while this can be resolved by paying, I feel like ad-free or at least pop up ad-free usage should be for all tiers and not paywalled. ### 3/5 — Changed *2026-09-08, version 3.46.2* When I had gotten this app sometime around 2023. I had gotten a special promotion stating that if I became a lifetime member. I’d have free access to stickers and notes etc. All of a sudden my stickers would be unloaded where I’d have to constantly download again and now I have to pay per sticker pack (that I’ve previously owned already). If the terms were going to change I might as well have not gotten my membership at all. I just wish they had more paper options like wide lined paper and wide grid. It also says it may collect installed-app information, running-process info, or memory-stored data for security/malware prevention. It requests permissions for things like local storage, camera, photo album, Bluetooth, microphone, foreground service/recording, and access to task information for app analysis. Some of that makes sense for a notes/PDF/recording app, but “access to task information” and running-app analysis is more invasive than I’d love for a notebook app. If you are intending to use Kilonotes as a private journal, password storage, etc. I would steer clear. ### 3/5 — Ads are annoying *2026-07-06, version 3.43.1* When I’m writing notes, sometimes I accidentally press the ads at the bottom and it redirects me to google, which is really annoying. And this happens often. Its not my favorite for making the screens, but i write down things on ibis paint x, and i import it into my journal! Took my money and didn’t even give me what I paid for. ### 1/5 — Not free… *2026-08-02, version 3.44.1* I have been looking for a free note taking app and this one looked particularly hopeful looking at the reviews in the App Store and online, however this is yet another app that has a hidden paywall; *after* you download the app. In order to use this app for any more that 5 notes you must pay. The search for a free note-taking app continues… ### 1/5 — Device Sync & Improve Hyperlinks *2026-07-10, version 3.43.1* The biggest problem is hyperlink support. When duplicating pages in digital planners, internal links break, and external links are unreliable. This makes the app much less useful for planner users. Another major issue is the lack of device sync. If I update my planner on my iPad, I can't access the latest version on my phone unless I manually export and download it every time. That's incredibly inconvenient. I can’t believe I pad 50 dollars for goodnotes and I hated it. I could’ve bought Kilonotes immediately and it’s way cheaper and BETTER. The writing feels natural (unlike goodnotes, it feels weird unnatural) , it has anatomy stickers (TONS), cute free post its and stickers and much more. I would recommend Goodnotes over Kilonotes. ### 5/5 — Brilliant *2026-08-20, version 3.46.0* Really good app. It has helped me journal my jumbled lyrics into one cohesive song whilst also making it aesthetic. I find it quite hard to use the next as it is hard to format and the words are very sensitive to touch. That’s probably just me though. I love the stickers and all the different categories. I also love how premium is an option but is not mandatory to have a good time. ### 5/5 — Best note taking App ever *2026-08-07, version 3.44.1* It’s been over a year that I downloaded this app and let me tell you is the best app ever because not only help me take notes easily but also I get a lot of benefits from the memberships and new designs that I can add or create a journal with also they have a lot of stickers in it. I love it so far. The only thing that I would like them to add is when you scribble with a pencil, it will be awesome that they can’t erase it as well without using the box text or clicking on it the whole time so it’s better to scribble down to delete it. It will make them have more success on it. ### 5/5 — Literally the best *2026-08-06, version 3.44.1* Just finished my first quarter of nursing with this app and it’s truly a lifesaver. -Recording feature -Customizable pens/pencils/fonts/paper/notebook covers/you name it -Can upload your PDFs or pictures and write on them (SO helpful for labeling models) - If you minimize your photos app (on iPad), you can just drag whatever picture and it will automatically make a sticker and place it in your notebook (great for book diagrams that are directly embedded into your notes) -So many free and cute stickers! -ONE TIME PAYMENT for unlimited premium access. In this economy? SENSATIONAL. Goodnotes and most other apps have a stupid monthly/yearly subscription but not Kilonotes. Pay once, get it all. -Actually there are some things you have to individually purchase but those are like, special stickers or templates. Almost everything else is free or included with the lifetime membership though. Overall, 100/10. Only thing I would ask is for the folders to be customizable as well.
