Every family at our centre has problems to the point that the centre has had to start emailing us as well as notifying us through the because the app’s notification settings are weird (you get updated when someone “likes” something but not when a new news item is posted!). It’s also super buggy - I have to refresh, or open and close, multiple times just to get my update to load when I open to check my kid’s day. On the other hand, the educators find it easy to use, which is more important. And is also where the app developers bring in the money, because the centres are the ones paying for it, so I’m not surprised they’ve forgotten about end user experience. ### 2/5 — Unstable and slow to refresh *2024-01-18, version 4.0.1* Some good ideas but often doesn’t refresh with data and freezes with current version. The app has never been great but the latest ‘update’ is just shocking. Using it for 4 children makes it borderline unbearable to use as it’s that painful trying to go through it. Not to mention at this point, almost all the features can’t even be used. On top of that for about 3 months now I don’t get notifications from the app regarding any updates on the kids day or messages from their educators, despite notifications being turned on and nothing preventing it on my end. This app is not user friendly , Parents can not sign in incident and illness report through their own phone and their own convenience. There is no icon for parents to see incidents reports. On other Hand too complicated doesn’t look like we are using current technology. very disappointing.. Lots needed to improved. The centre have tried contacting the company and their advice is only ever delete and reinstall ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-07-21, version 4.3.0* Recently updated but there still haven’t been any improvements. I have a second child in daycare now and switching between the profiles is such a pain. Not to mention nothing on the app is loading today. Please listen to your reviews and fix up your app! ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2025-04-04, version 4.2.0* My child is at two centres that use Kinderm8. I don’t like that I can’t switch between centres within the app & need to use the website for the preschool. The most recent change where both parents need the app isn’t great. My partner doesn’t use apps & he shouldn’t need to download something to sign his child into a kiosk that only requires a number & pin. I am the main account holder, there is no need for two of us to have the app. One of our centres posts nothing on the app & we receive emails. It is completely unnecessary. I much preferred the Xplor system with the QR code.. Emergency contacts are able to sign in without the app yet parents aren’t? All communication goes to my inbox, I’ve never accessed anything other than account balance through Kinderm8 for our preschool. Even the statement goes to my inbox. Please reconsider this recent change, not everyone wants apps & nor should they need one to sign their child into care. I find the app incredibly clunky, finding when my child was signed in & out is an adventure in itself. I liked with our previous app that an alert came up when my partner signed our child in/out. The toileting info isn’t as comprehensive as Storypark. This app may be handy for educators but as a parent, I have been very disappointed by it. The latest change is absolutely ridiculous & unnecessary. ### 1/5 — Not user friendly *2024-07-08, version 4.2.0* Frustrating app, without useful features- such as being able to sign in multiple children at once (instead you have to spend time clicking through each child) - suggested update please! The home tab of the app looks great and colourful, but you quickly realise next to nothing is intuitive or even useful. Notification settings are also very strange and inconsistent. I never thought I’d miss the functionality of other daycare centres we’ve been with. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2024-05-27, version 4.2.0* Worst app ever, notifications not working for updates even if you turn it on. Only works when someone likes it. Interface is clunky, sometimes works, mostly not. Horrible timeline. Not sure why our centre has tie up with them. Engaged support and was not very helpful. Was glitchy the best of times and wouldn’t get notifications for the things I wanted and would get 100 notifications for the things I didn’t want. Since the update (and I didn’t think it could get worse) but it really has. Daily charts/observations etc come up as blank and you need to open and close the app and then tap around a few times before it actually loads and even the when you click to read it- it doesn’t open. The notifications in the corner never go away. I don’t know who is designing and updating this app but they really are not doing a great job. As an example: before you can see at a glance how many hours the baby slept: Not it says from when to when, but you need to do the maths to know the exact time.
