### 4/5 — Great But Not Stable

*2022-07-21, version 3.0.1*

Overall is great but the bug, glitch, and crashes just get super annoying. I play this game on iPhone 13 and both story and classic mode would have issues every so often. Especially the classic mode. The UI would disappear when you near the end of game where you promote to highest level of friendship or when you select the gold shield event and crash.

### 3/5 — Love the game, but crashes

*2022-07-08, version 3.0.1*

I genuinely really have enjoyed the game, but the game will not let me progress past where my character has the fight with Jo. Without fail, midway through the fight the game crashes. It has done it now >10 times and makes the game nonfunctional essentially. Hopefully it gets fixed as I love the game and would rate it a 5!

I use an iPhone 11 Pro Max with the most updated iOS and updated version of the game.

### 3/5 — A cute game for children

*2022-05-10, version 3.0.1*

I would recommend this game for children, but not for adults. There’s a cute, heart-warming storyline that could encourage children to have self-confidence despite their fears, be persistent in training to build skills, value teamwork, etc. I was disappointed by how little depth there was to the gameplay. Animated combat happens automatically, and there’s nothing to do there but press a button at appropriate times. Most of your time is spent training team members. This bored me, although it had its cutesy aspect that would appeal to some children. The training felt like junior high school: you send your fighters to the gym to get stronger, have them dance to gain agility, send them to recess to regain energy, etc.

**Developer response:** Hi Xenophon Simonides, thank you for your review! We appreciate that you mentioned things to improve in the game mechanism. We will continue to improve the game and thanks again for your support!

### 4/5 — Fantastic game 4.5 stars

*2022-01-26, version 3.0.1*

Games fantastic. I’ve loved it for a while and have been waiting for Ivo to come out for forever. Although I have one small issue with him. His special power does not seem to work as intended. I’ll freeze a unit and they won’t move but they’ll be able to use their own special to either break the spell or avoid any damage that would’ve been caused while trapped. It feels strange to me that my main characters power is one of the last I’d use even when it would be perfect for a situation. Anyways thank you for all the hard work you guys put into this game I still love it aside from this small issue

**Developer response:** Hi Morg6756, thank you for your feedback! Glad you like the game! Meanwhile, look out for game updates as we are continously sending out fixes and improvements. If the problem persists after the game was updated, let us know at: https://kurechii.com/support

### 4/5 — New update?

*2021-08-17, version 2.0.8*

I love the game and have played both story lines. I go to play the third one, and it says it’s not available yet. It’s been a few months since the last update, is there another one coming that will allow us to play with the third story, or no?

### 4/5 — Seamless, enjoyable experience

*2021-07-21, version 2.0.8*

I’m on the XS, the game never crashed at all until ironically I had finished it and was trying to go to the main menu.

The game is quite fun, it is engaging but not too challenging. In my opinion it is a good balance for a mobile game. The story play through took me about 6 hours for one character, and I’ll likely play through a second time or try the more “open world” version.

Great game.

### 3/5 — Game is fine some mechanics make no sense

*2021-02-23, version 2.0.8*

The game itself is not bad, but god do the mechanics get on my nerves. There is really no point in using characters that are not ranged half the time as they can’t get to the opponent if there is 2 archers/mage etc, just ability, thrown back, run back up, ability, thrown back and the cycle continues

### 5/5 — The Best Game in Apple Arcade

*2020-04-02, version 1.2.6*

Honestly, I’m not even exaggerating when I say this but this game made the arcade subscription worth it. Every flipping cent. I absolutely love the art style and character design of the entire app which is complemented by the great storyline. The game is so well made and while the game mechanics are pretty simple, they’re still so addicting, especially when combined with the content and upgrade systems. I played non stop through the game because of how addicting it is (especially since you have to grind a LOT) and finished the entire thing in a day. Distracted me from eating, studying, going to the bathroom, you name it. I really hope they make a third one or at least come out with another amazing game like this one. I had to unsubscribe to Apple Arcade after playing this game because none of the other apps could meet the standards this game had raised for me or beat the quality of this one. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who appreciates beautiful game style combined with addictive gameplay.

**Developer response:** Hi Justbeingmi, thank you so much for your kind words and support. Reviews like yours mean a lot to the team :) We're not working on a King's League III just yet, however, we are working hard on new content for this game!

### 5/5 — Great game! Ready for more!

*2020-03-27, version 1.2.6*

By far my favorite game so far in the Apple Arcade. I’m a sucker for good RPGs and this one was unique enough to completely pull me into the gameplay. The story mode was well developed and left me disappointed when it was over because I was thoroughly enjoying it. Classic mode is fun in its own way in that you can completely alter how the game is played by who you choose in the beginning.
Would love an addition to story mode and a possibly even more characters to choose from in the gameplay. Would also love to see the classes expanded upon even more.
Overall a great game and can’t wait to see more updates!

### 5/5 — My favorite of Apple Arcade so far

*2020-02-26, version 1.2.6*

I played it straight through on Story Mode then played it through again in Classic. Can’t remember the last time I did something like that. Recruit basic classes and fight in teams of up to 5 characters. You’ll find yourself fighting classes you’ve never seen before. Early on, it’s simply because your recruitment pool is shallow. But as your characters advance, they get the potential to specialize. Sadly, characters don’t level with use. You can increase their stats a bit with idle tasks between main events, but they don’t actually level unless you spend gems. And man, how I love not having IAPs to shaft me with those gems. You earn them fair and square with gameplay. It’s not X-Com or Baldur’s Gate, but I enjoyed the heck out of it.

In combat, I wish I could tap the character rather than its portrait at the bottom of the screen to invoke its special move. Doing so makes me look away from the combat, and many’s the time I make someone do a special melee attack and it turns out he’s out of range. He’d have known that and so would I have if I hadn’t been forced to direct my eyes off the combat. Nevertheless, a great game.

**Developer response:** Hi Ronbo12, thanks for your feedback! We're really glad you enjoyed both Story Mode and Classic Mode :) We'll take your suggestion into consideration, have a good day!

### 1/5 — Game crashes when defeating Netherking in Story Mode every time!!

*2022-12-06, version 3.0.2*

Game crashes when defeating Netherking in Story Mode every time!! This would possibly be a good game if I could actually beat it. I have defeated the Netherking in Story Mode at least 5 times and when the end game video starts saying Lazuli’s body is overwhelmed the game crashes. I have an IPhone 12 running the most recent version of iOS 16.1.2. I will revisit this review if the developers ever fix it.

### 1/5 — Fun but so many glitches

*2022-08-01, version 3.0.1*

The game started out fun enough, but whenever I went back to the main menu to take a break from the game it was always broken when I came back. My progress was not erased but the game just would not play no matter how I restarted it. This would be a great game but it’s just too glitchy to play once you turn it off for the first time. Additionally when you start it up and you are asked if you want a tutorial it just gives you the same tutorial no matter what you do. For an Apple Arcade game it is just really disappointing.

### 1/5 — Complete unbalanced garbage

*2021-10-19, version 2.0.8*

Please don’t waste any time playing this trash. Completely unbalanced and forced story scenes are constant and pointless. You take wardens and then they get taken by a force twice as strong as yours even though they are common soldiers. Game doesn’t show rank of opponents so you don’t know who’s good and bad and what necessary to beat them. All in all pretty graphics with the lowest IQ story and balancing I think I’ve ever seen. If I was a dev I’d be truly embarrassed to call this my work.

### 2/5 — Great game, with many issues.

*2023-08-25*

i would like to start this review by saying the game is great. i loved kings league odyssey, and this game blew it out of the park. however there are far to many issues to ignore. the greatest of them all being i cannot return to my game after closing the app. once loaded, the game does not display my characters, the buy screen, or any menus, however time still passes. i cannot train, upgrade, quest, or do anything beside helplessly watch as the tournament draws near. sense the game is unplayable in this aspect, it deserves no more than 2 stars.

further issues i have are with the “skills” of the game. i’ll have units 1-2 levels higher that would destroy opponents in the other games, losing to slashes and heal abilities. while i understand the point of them, it turns every run into a min/max play through to get the most diverse ability set.

**Developer response:** Hi Brycedahbeast, we are really sorry about the poor experience! Could you kindly reach out to us at (https://support.kurechii.com/) and tell us more about the problems? Maybe you could provide some screenshots or a clip to show the problems so we could look into them.

### 2/5 — Crashes and Freezes a LOT

*2022-08-14, version 3.0.2*

Makes it unplayable. Usually happens late game story mode.

Almost not worth putting time into the game ONLY because you’ll hit a crash wall and won’t be able to progress. If they fix the crash bugs - which at this point I just don’t know if they ever will - then this is a 4/5 star game minimum.

### 2/5 — Games is good but crashes a LOT

*2022-08-13, version 3.0.2*

This game crashes a LOT. And you end up losing a lot of progress. Final boss defeated. Yay. Nope games crashes gotta start entire dungeon over again - twice. Ok beat the final boss again, make it to the credits you can’t skip. CRASH. Back to beginning of dungeon. Beat the game again. Get past credits. Get past epilogue. Start seeing end game summary and now can’t get past that without the game crashing. King’s League II: the crash

### 2/5 — Game is like the classic but…

*2022-03-18, version 3.0.1*

Incredibly fun game stays true to classic while adding more to the game, however the game has hard locking bugs. Most quest and dungeons will crash on completion later on. Ivo has a headlock at one of the fights of his story making it impossible to progress(have tried multiple times over 6 months). Simply put, it is a Apple Arcade game. Average and mostly unbeatable due to little effort by the devs to fix what they have and adding more onto a already unstable project. But this game needs love. It feels like a adopted red headed child raised by mama dearest. My model is iPhone 13.

**Developer response:** Hi daddys_lil_uwu, we're sorry to hear that you've encountered this issue. Could you expand on this? You can share bug finds and other feedback here: https://support.kurechii.com/ Please look forward to future updates.

### 3/5 — Good for a bit

*2022-12-15, version 3.0.2*

The game play and strategy are super fun. However there is too much dialogue and doesn’t grant much player freedom. It’s fun if you want to waste some time but don’t expect a lot of replay ability with how much hand holding the game does.

### 3/5 — This game could be great…

*2022-08-01, version 3.0.1*

This game has a lot of cool and fun aspects to it. For instance it isn’t extremely grindy but it still takes you enough time to where you get a lot of fun out of it. However the reason I rated this game 3 is because it is riddled with bugs and the game crashing constantly. It seems sometimes I can’t even get past a required event because my game crashes every time I’m about to be hit.

### 3/5 — Unexpectedly deep; needs a bug fix

*2022-07-14, version 3.0.1*

There’s an entertaining story/campaign mode, and then classic mode to advance your knowledge of the mechanics. Pretty good.

Unfortunately both of my classic mode saves have gotten wedged with a bug where it stops showing icons, so the only thing you can do is wait until your next tournament battle and play that. It would be nice to see this fixed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fun but no super balanced

*2022-06-25, version 3.0.1*

A ton of fun when you are bored and don’t have wifi, but the game turns on to easy mode when you recruit or level up a mage into a healer. You can spam the healer ability so that your other characters don’t die and it makes the gameplay pretty brainless. I would recommend though it is a ton of fun when bored or on airplane.

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2022-01-19, version 3.0.1*

The game is fun and not too challenging even at the highest difficulty. Certain characters carry in story mode and the stealth classes are underrepresented; I myself never saw a reason to use them. But all in all very fun and a good story.

### 5/5 — I ❤️ this game so much!

*2021-11-30, version 2.0.8*

So fun. Love the stories. Playing on both iPhoneX 11 max pro, and iPad. No crashes. I would like 10 more characters to play as please. 😬 Any idea when the new character will be added?

### 5/5 — Amazingly fun

*2021-08-31, version 2.0.8*

I am a huge fan of this game, I went into it with meh expectations and would stay up many hours play it. I only played 1 story line all the way through but I enjoyed it immensely. If you like a bit of strategy, some light reading, but overall an enjoyable experience this is a great arcade game to try.

### 5/5 — Best game on apple arcade yet

*2021-06-28, version 2.0.8*

Wow, this game is amazing! I didn’t expect to like it so much, but it kept me entertained for days of playing whenever I had free time. The story mode is incredible with actual, decent character development which is kind of rare in these types of games. Combat and training are balanced perfectly, and all the artwork is just gorgeous, particularly the story mode artwork. Easy five out of five stars.

### 5/5 — Needs the new character

*2021-03-08, version 2.0.8*

I will keep this short. (No I’m not.) The new character HAS to come out soon, or I will run out of things to do. If the devs are working on a King’s League lll, then I am OK with it. Just please add the new character to the game, or I might stop playing because of the lack of content. (I might play it again, but probably not without a new character.) I just need a new character, but the game is still the best RPG on Apple Arcade. (At this time of writing.)

### 5/5 — Wow

*2021-01-29, version 2.0.6*

This game has been a BLAST for me. I’ve spent like hours on it and I’m totally addicted!! I don’t know what kind of work you put into this game, but GOOD JOB!!! Please make more games like this and update frequently!!! Nothing bad with it at all;)

### 5/5 — Easily Apple Arcade’s Best Offering

*2021-01-28, version 2.0.6*

King’s League was one of the first few Apple Arcade games I downloaded after purchasing my subscription, and quite frankly it raised my expectations to the point that almost all other Apple Arcade games (that I’ve played thus far) have been extremely disappointing and unable to keep my attention for very long - though for anyone reading this review who is also looking for other Apple Arcade games to play, I also greatly enjoy Ballistic Baseball and The Otherside.

All-in-all, King’s League is just a very well balanced game with multiple equally-valued aspects requiring strategy, and even a rather wide variety of battle types within the core gameplay mechanic which does an excellent job of eliminating the repetition and tedium that often accompanies the “grinding” aspect of similar games.

### 5/5 — One of the best mobile games I’ve ever played

*2020-12-09, version 2.0.6*

This game is a master piece for a mobile game of course I played in one sitting lol and I’ve seen many reviews about how this game crashes well that’s your fault that have a bad phone go get a new one or get it fix it isn’t the games fault 9.5/10 would like to see part 3 thanks for the game

### 5/5 — Too frenetic for me

*2020-08-14, version 2.0*

I played through story mode and enjoyed it.

I don’t usually like this format but this game is so well made that it was fun regardless.

The game is clearly designed for maximum replay value, but I don’t want to play it again because it makes me anxious. It’s just too fast-paced. It’s too hard to put down and pick back up, which any mobile game should be optimized for.

I recommend adding a mode or setting that automatically pauses the day timer when no training is in progress. This would let someone like me pause, get my bearings, and plan out my next steps.

As it is, by the end of my first play through, it no longer felt like a game. It felt like work.
