Kiosk Pro is a flexible solution for any project that makes an iPad available to visitors. As a specialized web browser, Kiosk Pro Plus can display web pages, documents or audio & video files. Show content that’s hosted online or stored locally on the device. Kiosk Pro Plus builds on the functionality included in our Basic version, adding a screensaver loop, a schedule for when the kiosk is available for use, and the ability to update locally stored files from a remote server or Dropbox account. They resolved my issue in no time. ### 5/5 — Straightforward implementation & very flexible *2024-09-24* One of the apps that gets the job done. Very simple to set up an iPad for a museum display even if you’ve never done it before. For professionals there are lots of ways to input data & displays - I.e, create your own slideshow or html page locally or link to web address. The backend is very clear and easy to use with lots of options. Ample help, including from a real person if needed. And the front end is bulletproof; if set up properly for the web (there are lots of guardrails to keep users from going off to where they shouldn’t) it just plays and plays even under heavy use. Easy and flexible options give us the ability to create custom interfaces per kiosk without fuss. Like how easy it is to add separate screen saver and load content remotely. Documentation and support are both excellent. Support staff responds quickly with detailed answers. I use it to access and work in a web app—sometimes, for 5-10 hours a day. Reason: this app lets me dynamically inject custom css into that app, and make it look/operate how I've always wanted it to on IOS. Believe it or not, this app is the only "browser" on the App Store, that lets you inject a local .css file into any site you want. One was a United Way campaign, another was when our company was being acquired and we wanted to capture stories (involved video recording), and the most recent shows off e-learning courseware at a conference. In this last project we discovered a minor bug and, after reporting it, the issue was fixed in the next release a couple weeks later. This behavior keeps the PDF in memory so projects with large PDFs are recommended to test for performance issues prior to enabling this setting in a public kiosk. FIXED • An issue displaying pages containing an embedded image as a base64 string on devices running iOS/iPadOS 18. This affected our ability to successfully display Kiosk Pro’s standard error screens when the app was unable to load content. • An issue caused by a new behavior in iOS 18 where the dock appears for approximately one second and backgrounds Kiosk Pro whenever an ASAM session is ended. If the app was set to launch a new ASAM session when restarted or returned from the background, the session immediately restarted when the dock was dismissed. We love hearing from our users! CHANGES & IMPROVEMENTS • Automatically disable the iOS/iPadOS Autofill popup option for text fields to prevent access to or storing of Contacts and Passcodes by visitors. This feature is only included in and available for iOS 17+ devices. Added a new remote-update-only setting 'kp_disable_UIMenuAutoFill' if this feature needs to be disabled for devices not available to the general public. • Changed the default for 'Allow Universal Links to Open Other Apps' to ON, allowing universal links in HTML pages to open other native apps if installed and supported. These links will only execute if the app is NOT locked in Guided Access or Single App Mode. This change was made to prevent interference with standard link behavior, particularly for JavaScript events triggered by user interactions. Users who have previously installed our 11.2 and/or 11.2.1 update should consider manually updating this setting. FIXED • Corrected an issue where the "Apply" method under "Apply Settings Transferred via AirDrop" was updating settings correctly but incorrectly notified the user that settings had been not updated. • Fixed a bug where wildcard domains (e.g. *.example.com) in the Allowed Domains and/or Restricted Domains list were not always being matched correctly for URLs including the ‘www’ subdomain. • Resolved an issue causing flickering when loading PDF pages on certain devices. This zoom level can be applied globally to all content and/or customized for specific URLs. • Apply custom CSS styling and/or zoom levels in more targeted ways by excluding specific URLs from a customization rule set. • Customize the Idle Time Reset Alert by displaying a graphic instead of the default native alert. • Configure a different Blocked Request Alert Text String to be shown on certain URLs. • Added support for Apple’s native Web Inspector tools for devices running iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or later to allow users creating content for Kiosk Pro the ability to inspect page layout and styling, debug JavaScript requests, and more. CHANGES & IMPROVEMENTS • If Dark Mode is enabled in system settings, the app will now display certain elements using that theme, including the on-screen keyboard, native JavaScript alerts, and text selection (if enabled). • New configuration options for settings exports add the ability to export Managed App Configuration files as PLIST for MDMs that prefer that format, export without commented header information and/or settings names, and automatically minimize file size. • Options to validate configuration files for Remote Settings Control and Managed App Configuration have been moved to Advanced Settings as exporting these files is now the recommended best practice, removing the need for validation. • Universal links now default to opening in Kiosk Pro’s web view – this behavior can be toggled to allow a universal link in an HTML page to open another native app if installed and supported. • Improved reporting for the Remote Management Server to more clearly communicate when a remote update of locally stored content has finished successfully. • Improved analytics reporting through the Remote Management Server by streamlining local URLs and adding support for passing a title parameter when displaying PDF files. • Added support for remotely deleting locally stored files that were uploaded through the Remote Management Server.
