It had its bugs when I used it a couple years ago so I’m sure it’s been updated since then. I do remember I loved the fact that there was a group chat you could talk in. It was inclusive, fun, and allowed you to socialize in different ways. When I was on it there was a group chat of 50 people with the same personality type as you. The people were shuffled weekly so there was always the opportunity to talk to new people. Then you swiped on the people that are compatible. I didn’t swipe on people much bc I find it tedious but I was in the group chat quite a bit. That’s where I met my soulmate/future husband. We connected over dark humor and have now been together for about a year. This is a really random/“hole in the wall” app but I met one of my favorite people on this app so I can’t complain❤️ **Developer response:** Thank you for your wonderful comment. Now I remember, it’s the nonstop scammers and shady profiles I keep seeing on here. WAY too many people asking to be my sugar mama or asking me to download WhatsApp obviously to scam me. I honestly doubt anything’s been done about these accounts, because every time I come back I keep seeing them. It immediately is a put off. Also, there’s no way to filter age or gender. I don’t want to talk to 30 year olds! Because I used this as a non-dating app, I wanted to completely remove men from my pool of potential matches because I find that the ones on these kinds of apps are only interested in sex. I saw the ads and was like o this look good and read a few reviews it made me feel good about an I downloaded it. I did the the little pet you create and how your able to customize it that why I have it a star but after that the app just went down hill every one I met was a scammer fake account or something. The quiz, though, is way too short, not enough questions to get an accurate read. I had to retake it about 10 times and still didn’t get an accurate totem that fully represents me. There was also very minimal to no explanation as to what any of the mechanics are. Took me a while to figure out swiping, liking, super liking, etc. If there was a tutorial to get you understanding how the app works, that would be very helpful. All in all, though, the totems are very cute, the mechanics are fun, and I love how all-accepting the formula is for people of all walks of life to meet each other, judgement free. Therefore, I didn’t think anything of it and put the closest age to mine. Well, since then I’ve been locked out of my account. I’ve reached out to support on Instagram and XOXO and have gotten absolutely no help, and the support on XOXO hasn’t even responded once to my multiple messages asking about the issue. We will be happy to assist. ### 1/5 — Strange and filled with scammers *2022-07-03, version 4.10.3* This app is generally awful, I saw it advertised on tiktok and they made it sound way better than it actually is.when I first got on the app and made my account there were issue and it logged me out I tried texting the help bots several times with no responses. So already from the first couple hours there were problems.When I finally got back into my account I found someone impersonating me. The same name and pictures. I would not recommend this app for long term or any kind of relationship. ### 1/5 — Wait… what? *2022-07-03, version 4.10.3* I saw the developer replying to a question and they stated “the app is NOT for minors” but an ad for XOXO that I saw said it was for Gen Z… Generation Z is people born very late 90s to early 2000s-2010s.A lot of Gen Z are minors and literally anyone 10-25 counts as Gen Z. This sounds like either false advertising or a very contradictory statement by the developer. ### 1/5 — Gross *2022-07-03, version 4.10.3* Nothing but a bunch of old pedofiles should be taken down for minor endangerment ### 1/5 — Pronouns and Other Issues *2022-06-24* When putting in my pronouns, I couldn't have them in my preferred order. My pronouns are he/they/she and the app would always put the she first even when i kept trying to fix it. I deleted the app because it kept doing that. I won't be downloading it again. There are more issues that I would like to address as well. There's no way for you to actually verify your age on here. I've seen at least 5 minors on this app. You guys should have people verify their IDs. With the other reviews that I've looked at and the "developers response", which just seems to be a bot, I'm not the only one who has noticed all the minors on here and people can lie about their age to get onto an app that's 18+, that's not uncommon. There seriously needs to be an ID verification. Another issue I'd like to address is the no filtering. I understand that this app is supposed to be all inclusive and not out limits on anything, but having no filters isn't the way to do it. People have preferences and that's the way it will always be. Fake profiles, scammers, and lots of minors. The app doesn’t let you set your age it assigns you a “mental age” which is already sketchy. Several teenagers on the app even though I hit the above 18 option. Then they took down my photos because I was wearing a face mask or had my dog in it. I’ll stick to taime and tinder. ### 1/5 — Delete *2023-12-20, version 4.129.2* Why won’t you let me delete my account, nothing works and when I email you , you send the same generated message, this is really bad. Please just help me delete it ### 1/5 — Signed me out and forced me to sign back up *2023-08-22, version 4.21.1* I had only been on it for a day. I barely had a chance to talk to anybody before it logged me out and then forced me to go through the sign up process again. It wouldn’t allow me to sign back in. Absolutely terrible. Will never come back to this again. ### 1/5 — It was cool at first but do not download! *2023-06-22, version 4.21.1* This is the worst dating app or just app in general to find friends. I originally was going to delete it right off back but the app gives you 500 tokens to reconsider so I was like okay I guess I’ll give it a try. Firstly I’ve had the worst experience with just ppl being weird and inappropriate. Yes, that is the world we live in but the thing is the app forces you to talk to them by throwing you into a random group chat you can’t get out of. The only way to stop talking to these people is just by blocking them hoping they don’t make another account to troll you again. Secondly, I woke up and all of a sudden my account was gone. I don’t know if I was reported or if it’s a bug but I’m pretty sure I followed all of the rules and I only talked to like 3 people. I tried re-signing in and the app says “error no account found” so I just lost all of my friends and on top of that I had just made a purchase within the app which makes this 10 times worst because it feels like I’ve been scammed. This app also doesn’t let you talk to anyone you want. Instead you have to pay for some stupid open lines or whatever it’s called just to talk to them. So I’m like okay let me contact support to see what the heck is going on and…nothing. The support is within the app. I’m not sure if it’s a real person or a bot but either way I’m getting no response. Do not download this app! If you do, upload a few pictures no matter if the app tries to force you to post more. If you find a friend see if you all can catch up on another social media platform because it took me 2 hours to try and find those people again. Giving the fact that you can’t search up anyone. I’m TRYING really hard to enjoy this application, but idk. I love the concept of what they are doing or trying to do. I get it. But…there is a lot of issues to it. I would prefer filters only because I would like to match with other verified people. I see a lot of spam on the non-verified profiles. Another thing it’s just way to confusing. They’re trying to make it all in your face with colors and this and that but when you get down to it, it doesn’t really make sense. Like what do the colors mean? It just saying ‘you’re a purple so we are matching you with other purple like minded people’ and it’s like what does that even meannnnn? Lol!! Idk they’re trying to be a dating app but not a traditional dating app and like i said MANY times…..I get it …..buttttt maybe traditional is not so bad if you incorporate it in a way everyone likes it. Like I definitely would not mind filters….they are not so bad mainly if I want to filter out spam. I want authentic real people and i want to know if they are real by A: verifications and B: have the option to only match with verified people. So next, if I block someone I want them never to appear…..that is NOT the case with this application. I block someone and they STILL pop up when I’m swiping like ???????? they technically are still blocked because I go to their profile and it says their profile is not longer available but they STILL pop up when I’m swiping even after I swiped them away. I HATE that. Many things need to be fixed. And please fix them if you want people to genuinely enjoy using this application. ### 1/5 — Um??? *2022-10-23* I downloaded this app from a Snapchat ad because why not and immediately I was frustrated. The quiz thing was completely inaccurate and kept categorizing me wrong to the point where I just sucked it up and moved on. And then I find out there’s no gender preferences??? I understand not being able to filter out people based on looks, beliefs, etc. but gender??? I’m strictly a lesbian and do not want to see men at all but I can’t do that with this app. Also the screen that comes up when you tap on what should be the preferences icon is kind of a slap in the face. Like just tell me off the bat that you don’t have preferences, don’t bait me into tapping an icon just to chew me out for wanting to see my preferred gender, please?? Don’t download this app please. I answered as honestly as I could but it really seemed like the questions were too extreme and guided results way too much. And as for the no preference thing, come on.
