### 1/5 — Je suis déçu!

*2021-04-09, version 2.1.3*

J’ai eu la même expérience je suis dégoûté.. avez-vous réussi à avoir de satané code pour l’application? Que je puisse enfin m’en servir
Cordialement

### 1/5 — Kiwi 4

*2021-03-06, version 2.1.3*

I had Kiwi 3 and it worked great, unfortunately miss placed or leant to someone. Replaced it with Kiwi 4 and been nothing but a pain! Lucky to get it connect with this app or other apps to read codes and look at data

### 1/5 — Crap

*2021-02-10, version 2.1.3*

Waste of time. Doesn’t work at all. They just want you to buy their product, don’t.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy this

*2021-01-08, version 2.1.3*

1) Device won’t connect until you pull it from OBD port each time you want to connect phone. 2)Data logging only output 2 channels and said N/A for all other channels checked that work on live mode.
3)Data won’t save to micro card
4)Bluetooth constantly drops
5)refresh rate of app is seconds behind.
7) device not designed to Connect data from other PLX devices like OBD / boost pressure

Overall not worth my investment, software is very glitchy. I have purchased other PLX devices and they work much better but Bluetooth interfaces seem to be poor design.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2021-01-07, version 2.1.3*

Major glitches
Don’t waste your time or money

### 1/5 — Crashes every time

*2020-12-21, version 2.1.3*

Can’t even get the app to get to the Diagnostics screen where it shows a code.... crashed every single time when trying...

### 1/5 — So bad it isn’t even funny

*2020-06-20, version 2.1.3*

Spend a bunch on a kiwi 4 and it is practically useless as the app crashes every time I try to read a code. Also, only seems to support landscape, doesn’t respect unit selection, vehicle editor is hard to find and clunky and can’t seem to edit vehicle after it has been added, etc etc. Has a lot of fancy paid features but they should focus on the basics.

### 1/5 — Crashes every time

*2020-04-10, version 2.1.3*

Every single time.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2020-02-13, version 2.1.3*

Took a long time to connect to my KIWI3 adapter and when it finally did connect all the gauges showed zero even though the engine was running. Don’t believe any of the 5 star reviews of this app, there are quite a few that have the EXACT same wording but written by a different “user”. It’s clear that the PLX team knows their app is garbage and at one point tried to do damage control by spamming the App Store with fake reviews.

### 1/5 — Bugs Galore

*2020-01-27, version 2.1.3*

Agree with others that this looked promising. Spent a few minutes with it and it crashed and had trouble maintaining a connection to Kiwi 3.

Downloaded Dash Command and that works perfectly.

### 2/5 — Kiwi works, app doesn’t

*2020-01-10, version 2.1.3*

The app closes/shuts down immediately every time the diagnostic codes appear.

### 1/5 — KIWI3 ODB Scanner and IOS app is junk

*2019-12-19, version 2.1.3*

I paid $100 for the ODB Mobile scanne/adapter and was forced to buy a $11 IOS app.

The last time I remember using this junk adapter was 6 months ago when I had to have fuel sensor replaced. To get I think about 18 months out of a $100 KIWI3 adapter (plus the $11 app) that been plugged in to the same vehicle before it stopped working is simply pathetic.

You spend $100 and then are forced to pay another $11 app to get it to use the adapter. $111 for I think 18 months of use.

What a complete waste of my money????

I’ve decided that I’m going back to Amazon to buy a BlueDriver OBD2 Bluetooth for iOS which is the top rated mobile ODB adapter.

The app and the KIWI3 ODB adapter were always very glitchy. Almost every time I used them, had to unplug the adapter, wait 30 seconds, reinsert it and restart the app every time to get it to connect or work correctly.

I was only able to get trouble codes and erase them, for most all other functions, they want more money, that is after you pay $111; really, what a load of bunk!!!

Looking back, I bought in to all the SEMA hype. I never thought to look are the warranty buried in a link to a legal disclaimer text; that was my bad.

The only good part of the product support was my phone conversation and our emails with the one tech.

If you do buy this $100 scanner or any scanner from Amazon and are going to be rational about the purchase, you better pay the $14 for the 3 year warranty to protect your purchase.

### 1/5 — This app is HORRIBLE on iOS

*2019-12-13, version 2.1.3*

This app is HORRIBLE on iOS! I never write reviews but this is bad! I can connect, but as soon as I try to run a diagnostic it disconnects and just spins showing it’s trying to connect. But on my Android....it works perfect! So I know it’s not my kiwi device smh.

### 1/5 — Stürzt dauernd ab.

*2019-11-30, version 2.1.3*

Arbeitet keinesfalls zuverlässig mit dem aktuellen ios

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2019-11-25, version 2.1.3*

This is my first review ever. This app is so bad I had to write about it, when trying to connect to KIWI 4 unit, I’m lucky if it connects 1 out of 15 tries. When it does connect either the app freezes, closes unexpectedly, or does nothing. When I contacted the company the only help they provided was to delete app and reinstall, did so countless times with the same result. Stay far away from this product!

### 1/5 — Buyer Beware

*2019-10-29, version 2.1.2*

System is a complete rip off designed to make the user purchase additional apps and licenses in order to use equipment!

### 1/5 — Don’t buy Kiwi! This app is junk

*2019-10-03, version 2.1.0*

You have to pay for basic features and the advertised compatibility with third party apps is not as advertised. Look for a better alternative.

### 1/5 — Scan tool issue

*2019-08-17, version 2.0.4*

Issue with trying to scan for codes. I connect to device then go to scan and the app disconnects from device then freezes and then the app crashes.

### 1/5 — Worse than cheap Chinese ELM327 clones

*2019-07-27, version 2.0.4*

I’m sure the kiwi 4 hardware is what was promised but the problem is this app is SHOCKING. Terrible UI, crashes back to home screen every time you want it to do something and the kit doesn’t work with other OBD apps either. Utterly pointless, Kickstarter is awash with dissatisfied customers and backers on this one. Avoid. Save your money and gamble with an adapter off Aliexpress or something, you’d probably have more luck.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-11-22, version 2.1.3*

Despite some gauges are beautifully designed many cannot be customized. Doesn’t change measure units. Diagnostic is always connecting. Without giving any hint it is working or has crashed. Have to force shut it down and start again.

### 1/5 — Biggest waste of money

*2025-08-22, version 2.1.3*

App crashes instantly biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent .

### 1/5 — Wurde nie fertig entwickelt

*2025-08-19, version 2.1.3*

### 1/5 — Locks up while reading data

*2024-08-24, version 2.1.3*

This app is useless. I’ve uninstalled.

### 1/5 — App crashes on iOS 17.5.1

*2024-07-13, version 2.1.3*

As soon a connection to the Plx is made, the app crashes.. I guess another email to tech support.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2023-12-27, version 2.1.3*

Third party apps have slowly dropped kiwi4 support, most of them no longer connect.

Now even their own app - while it will connect - no longer displays data.

App hadn’t been updated in 4 years. Assume updates are needed for changes in iOS.

So, shopping for a new OBD2 adapter.

iOS 17.2.1 iPhone 15 pro max.

### 1/5 — Total Junk

*2022-06-09, version 2.1.3*

I’ve never been able to get this app to work reliably. Crashes when I run diagnostic check. Also very flaky connection to scanner. Kiwi s u c k s A s s

### 1/5 — Trash ! Don’t spend your time and money with it.

*2022-05-30, version 2.1.3*

Trash ! Don’t spend your time and money with it.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-11-08, version 2.1.3*

It will connect to the vehicle, but won’t do anything after that.

### 1/5 — Forever “Coming Soon”

*2021-10-10, version 2.1.3*

The app has major sections (notably the performance measurement section) that are “coming soon” for several years. Don’t let the feature set lure you I to thinking the device is a great purchase because it’s supported by a app delivering features “soon”. It looks like an abandoned product. Probably a white-label product with a app made by a third party that went out of business.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Not reading codes please update this App

*2019-04-11, version 2.0.3*

Not reading codes please update this App

### 5/5 — 5 stars!

*2019-01-21, version 2.0.0*

To be honest the app is well designed. The look, the feel and the responsiveness delivers. I’ve tried other OBD apps and hard to find any that offer what this one does. A tutorial video of the app would be something I would recommend, but is not a killer for me. Had some questions and PLX team was thorough to communicate with.

### 5/5 — Useful app to have!

*2019-01-20, version 2.0.0*

I think this app is a great idea! Its so easy to check your engine codes and its already saved me $500 because I havent had to go to the mechanic to find out the information I need. Definitely worth a download.

### 5/5 — Works great with my Mazda!

*2019-01-17, version 2.0.0*

Great improvement! Works great with my Mazda 3. Compact obd tool and fast app. There is nothing better for an enthusiast. Light and fast!

### 5/5 — Great hardware with a great app!

*2019-01-17, version 2.0.0*

Been using Kiwi’s for many years. With the Kiwi 4 being the latest release I am very happy with the new hardware and the Kiwi OBD app. The app has one of the best layouts I have seen with an OBD2 app. I like showing this off to everyone who rides in my car. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

### 5/5 — Review

*2019-01-17, version 2.0.0*

G-circle is much more accurate than before

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-01-17, version 2.0.0*

The best interface I have seen on OBD app so far. The Kiwi hardware is small and smart. The app is easy to use and provides accurate data. Recommended.

### 4/5 — Cool.

*2019-04-24, version 2.0.3*

Pretty cool. Though it crashes a lot

### 4/5 — Could be 5 stars, needs HUD mode.

*2018-12-18, version 1.0.5*

This app would be/could be 5 stars. All I need, an HUD mode! All this cool stuff would be even cooler defected off my windshield.

I’ve seen others doing something like this. It’s ideal at night, but let’s face it, this hardware & software marriage is PERFECT for HUD. Give something cool! He’ll charge for it. And I don’t mean monthly, one time purchase. If you do it & make it a subscription, I’m deleting & boycotting this app.

Just give us HUD with a few setting adjustments to find tune it to our cars & bikes, including both landscape & portrait view.

Thank you!

### 4/5 — It’s works

*2018-09-24, version 1.0.5*

Everything I have tried out on the app works great. The app it’s self time out some time and you have to restart the app to get it to work. I really wish it had a hud option so that I can keep using my hud screen.
