It's unnecessary, repetitive and honestly pretty annoying. The app feels clunky and it seems like these features were just added for novelty. The new updates have made me want to avoid looking at the clips from the day altogether, which is frustrating since that's the main reason I bought the product. **Developer response:** Dear User, thank you for sharing this. I don’t need an over exaggerated AI description of what the bird is doing. It’s eating. Our team is always happy to help. ### 2/5 — The new update sucks *2026-06-02, version 2.17.0* I enjoyed checking the total number of birds that visited each day to see if there was any sort of pattern. The new update doesn’t let you do that without doing a bunch of gymnastics. Whose stupid idea was this??? ### 4/5 — Changed Activity to Feeds *2026-05-26* Used to be able to see number of visits. Update changed that to AI generated description of what I’m seeing. Since 90% of what I see are cardinals it’s a bit repetitive. We get over 100 visits per day. I use the count to set recording frequency and timing. Data no longer available so have to count manually ### 4/5 — App could be better *2026-05-16* Love the bird feeder but the app has issues. Keeps losing the connection to the feeder and is very slow and choppy. This isn’t the case when saving from the activity tab ### 5/5 — Quick Easy Peasey *2026-01-17, version 2.9.2* Awesome simplicity ### 4/5 — Requires full access to photos *2026-01-06* I had my photo access set to add (limited) only. However, in order to take a video and add it to my photos, the app forced me to give it full access to my photos. This is a huge violation of privacy. There is no reason the app needs full access to all photos in order to just add one. Other apps I’ve worked with do not do this. **Developer response:** Dear user, thank you for your feedback. I don’t recommend them. ### 1/5 — Software is terrible and expensive *2026-07-19* So far it has told me a house finch is a raven, a blue grosbeak, and a warbler. It can’t recognize a house sparrow. It can’t recognize a squirrel. The software is useless. I have to correct it more than it gets right. I sent a screenshot to Support and they said that it was a known problem and would be fixed in the next update. However, it was not fixed in yesterday’s update. This needs to be fixed ASAP! **Developer response:** Dear user, thanks for the report, and sorry again for the frustration this caused. Good news: this issue has been fixed in app version 2.9.2. Please update the Kiwibit app to v2.9.2 and try again - the portrait/landscape switch and partial image display should now work normally. I done uninstalled and installed.
