It allowed me to have a nightlight as well as visibility of the time. However, they updated the app and are now adding a timer that causes the nightlight to shut off after a short interal. In order for it to stay on all night, you have to pay them five dollars for the app. I realize that’s not a lot of money, but it’s just really annoying that they took away the free features. **Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback. There seems to be a misunderstanding about how our timer feature works, and we'd like to clarify. The nightlight function in KiwiLights is designed to stay on continuously - there is no automatic shutoff unless you specifically set a timer. The timer feature we added is completely optional and was included based on user requests for battery conservation and sleep enhancement. We’re still working on the landscape mode and also a standby mode when you turn your phone to the side. That will also be free to use. Coming in the next updates. You do not need to pay $5 to keep the nightlight on all night. The core functionality of using KiwiLights as a continuous nightlight remains free, just as before. The premium features include additional characters, enhanced features, and extended timer options, but not the ability to keep the light on. We apologize for any confusion! If you're experiencing the app shutting off automatically, this might be a technical issue we need to investigate. They fall under, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Ugh! **Developer response:** Thank you for your honest feedback about the character design changes in version 2.0. Then I thought that if I'm going to have a flashlight app, it might as well be a cute one and this one is pretty cute AND no ads AND it's simple which is just what I was looking for! I like that it has no ads, it's simple and cute. I like how you swipe the sun and moon to turn the flashlight on/off. I like the battery on the corner and the feature to change the iphone screen brightness looks useful to me too because I'm always changing my screen brightness manually on the iphone settings so doing it through this app instead is a quicker alternative. All in all, this is a lovely app! You can't adjust the light on the back and it's a bit too bright for me. You can turn that off and only use the adjustable light from the front of your device but it doesn't provide much light if you deactivate the back and only use the front. It may seem complicated but it's actually very simple and easy to understand. Kiwi and all the other animals are very cute. :D. I love the fact that it's free, it never loads, no ads, no in-ap purchases, and it works great. I would recommend getting it and deciding wether or not you like it because it really depends on how much you like the light it provides and kiwi. ### 5/5 — A new travel tradition *2014-12-27* We got this app in a pinch while on a trip when we realized our guest room had no clock or nite light which our 8 year old was used to. Our son loves the app and now we just plan on it and look forward to using it. I like that the brightness is so easy to adjust. If I could set the size of the clock, that would be helpful. On an iPhone, a toggle into day mode will turn on the camera's light. On an iPad it doesn't need a camera light because the screen is bigger and can light a whole room on its own when toggled to day. ### 5/5 — Binky Finder *2014-10-14* Kiwi has made finding binkies and night time check ups easy and fun!
