## What is Kizami 刻み?

Kizami records whether you did it, at the time you set.

What you kept and what you didn't are kept with the same weight. Neither can be deleted or rewritten afterwards.

The app writes the misses, not you

In most habit trackers, a day you missed is an empty square. An empty square can be filled in tomorrow.

Kizami writes a line into the ledger — "missed" — once the deadline passes. Entries are accepted only from 30 minutes before the time until the deadline; after that, nothing can be added. Forgetting does not quietly become nothing at all.

The stake is a record, not money

There are services that charge you when you fail. They appear to work, but they need a card on file, a monthly payment, and trust in a third party.

Kizami puts the same irreversibility in a ledger on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere, and no one collects from you. It simply stays written.

You can explain. You cannot rewrite.

You can add a reason to a slot you dropped — forgot, no time, unwell, not up to it, other. But it is added as a separate line; the original line does not move. There is room to say your piece. There is none to change what happened.

It cannot be erased. That is the design.

Saying this first: the ledger has no delete and no edit, and the screens carry no path to one. If you record something by mistake, you add a note rather than remove the line.

The ways around it are closed too.

- Nothing can be backdated (30 minutes before, until the deadline)
- Stopping a commitment does not remove its past entries
- Lowering a goal does not change a past "18 / 30" — it stays partial
- A pause can only be set for today or a future date
- Entries made while the device clock looks rolled back are marked

Recording itself stays free

Today's screen, the ledger and the notifications all work without paying, and every single entry in the ledger is readable.

One payment (no subscription) opens three things:

- As many commitments as you want (free: up to 3)
- Stats and monthly reports over the full history (free: last 30 days)
- Recording from Apple Watch

There is a 7-day trial. It starts when you tap to start it, so it does not run down while you are only looking.

Also

- Three ways to count: repetitions (30 reps), time (15 min), or simply done / not done
- Not all-or-nothing: 18 out of 30 is kept as partial
- On the 1st of each month, the previous month is sealed as a report. That does not change either
- 日本語 / English / 简体中文 / 繁體中文

What it does not do

- Notifications are local iOS notifications. Delivery is up to iOS, so they cannot be guaranteed. If one does not arrive, the slot past its deadline is still recorded the same way
- The timed notification comes from the iPhone. If the iPhone is off, the watch alone will not sound (you can still record from the watch alone)
- Data lives on the device. Nothing is sent to a server. There is currently no sync across devices
- This is not an app that gives exercise, health or medical advice

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-11

You can now say something about the ones you kept, too.

Notes could always be added to any slot, but the tags and the wording were all about why you dropped it. In effect, there was nowhere to write down a day you kept.

- On a slot you kept, choose from "Easier than expected", "A struggle" and "Nearly missed it"
- Slots you dropped are unchanged (Forgot / No time / Not well / Not up to it)
- It is added as a separate line; the original does not move

A commitment where "Nearly missed it" keeps coming up is now named in your stats.

A report only ever says "kept". On the numbers nothing looks wrong, so this is not something you notice on your own. It means the goal or the time is too heavy. What to do about it is not ours to decide.

Each commitment can carry a note.

Why you decided it, how you go about it. Links in it open as they are. This one is not the ledger, so you can change it later.

The ledger is still unerasable.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-10

Added seconds as a way to count.

Things that were too short for minutes — a plank, for instance — can now be written down. The target and the record both stay in seconds. There is a "Plank, 60 sec" example on the first screen.

- There are now four ways to count: reps, minutes, seconds, or simply done / not done
- Your existing commitments are untouched. You can change how one counts at any time

When you open the app for the first time, the rules are now shown once. You can read them again any time from Settings, under "How Kizami works".

The notification settings read better too.

- Never asked and declined are now shown as different states. Before, both read "Off", and the screen gave you no way to tell them apart
- When it has never been asked, you can turn it on right there instead of going to the Settings app
- If you change it in iOS Settings and come back, the screen no longer shows the old state

The ledger is still unerasable.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-08

Added iCloud sync.

It is part of the one-time purchase. Turn on "Sync with iCloud" in Settings, and from the next time you open the app, your records travel between your own devices through iCloud. Nothing is sent to our servers.

- Off to begin with. Whether to turn it on is your call
- It will not start on a device that is not signed in to iCloud (records stay on that device)
- When they arrive cannot be promised. Handing them over is up to Apple's iCloud
- Settings shows the last time the app exchanged anything with iCloud

The ledger is still unerasable. Turning on sync does not let you delete or rewrite past entries. If anything, the ledger now outlives the device you replace.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-22

No release notes.
