I can’t even register with a U.S. phone number (but I can with Syria for example) how does that make any sense? I develop apps for a living and guarantee I could rewrite this for a fraction of the price in a fraction of the time and actually make it stable. Guaranteed there’s some dev shop behind this that contracts cheap talent abroad, with some bro middlemen taking all the profits. ### 1/5 — Does not have option for United States! *2024-10-12, version 2.2.1* Just trying to sign up and there is no way to change language. Despite that I make it to sign on page and the drop down has every country (most of which will likely never have visitors here) yet there is no option for US, USA, United States, The United States, tried to find any option. Nothing! Very disappointing given how much money we spend into the Iceland tourism industry. ### 1/5 — Not sure how they got this contract… *2024-10-02, version 2.2.1* A very silly application that makes the simplest successful transaction feel like a minor miracle meriting a burnt offering to the gods Odin and Thor. Payment and other errors everywhere. What would have been wrong with just putting a card reader on every bus like a normal European city??? ### 1/5 — Not working at all *2024-08-26, version 2.2.1* I’m not sure how is this app published for public app even they can’t provide a secure connection for registrations ### 1/5 — If from out of country… find another way *2024-08-15, version 2.2.1* I’d give this zero stars if possible. I am from USA and struggled all trip to use this app. It wouldn’t accept my foreign phone number, so I had to login as anonymous every single time. Therefore, I had to enter my credit card info every time. It was a pain. And if I bought the ticket too early, it would log me back out after it had charged me. I got charged for about 3-4 tickets that I did not use simply from it kicking me off the app at sometime during the process. So my suggestion, if you aren’t from Iceland….don’t. I finally found bus tickets at the 10-11 that was in physical format and you could pay for uses vs. time periods. Do this if at all possible. Honestly, I don’t know why they haven’t fixed this as tourism is a big part of the economy for them. It’s like they didn’t even consider out of country visitors when developing this app. It definitely needs help. ### 1/5 — Almost Unusable *2024-08-11, version 2.2.1* This app gave me a lot of trouble as a visiting American trying to navigate the public transit system without using cash. I was able to eventually get it to work, only by using the website, not the app, and using my email, not my phone number. In the app I had to use the log in anonymously function and eventually was able to get the QR code to load and pay for my bus fare. Luckily the bus driver was easygoing and didn’t kick me off the bus for the ten minutes it took for me to fiddle with the app and get my payment ready. Coders if you’re reading this, please try to update the app to make it more usable! ### 3/5 — US citizens please read *2024-08-07, version 2.2.1* The app works half way decent but is confusing. First I’ll try to explain what to do and then I’ll give a review on the bus service and drivers The app: it’s works ok I guess. You can not make an count. If you try, it sends a text the God himself and you will never receive the text until maybe after you die. Instead, do the guest login. When you do this, purchase the tickets the day you intend to use them as they may disappear. Also do not activate them until you are ready to use them since they have a 75 minute timer. When you activate the tickets, have it ready the scan. The scanner in the busses don’t read well and the drivers are impatient. That’s about it for the app. The busses and drivers. The busses show up kind of on time. BEWARE to know what direction you are going. My wife and I weren’t positive of the direction we were supposed to go and we missed our bus because we were standing across the street at the bus stop meant for the other direction. The drivers themselves were awful. They were rude and rising and closed the doors on my wife. I asked, “was that necessary?” And the driver just stared at me. The drivers all performed many hard brakes and hard accelerations. They seemed to be concerned with making times over passenger safety. They did not drive with due regard and at best, this will negatively affect the vehicles. Finally there is a lot of construction. Plan accordingly so you are not late to your commitments. Bought tickets we can’t use *2026-04-25, version 2.3.14* We downloaded this app, fought with it until we found out how to buy and activate a ticket only for the system to be down on the bus at the Keflavik airport, so we needed up buying more tickets. Since our mobile phone numbers are US based we can only use the app in “anonymous” mode which doesn’t seem to have a way to request refunds or report issues. ### 1/5 — Drasl app *2025-08-07, version 2.3.8* Þetta app er algert drasl og gjörsamlega gangslaust, myndi gefa núll stjörnur ef það væri hægt. Það er bara hægt að nota þetta með íslenskt símanúmer. Túristar geta ekki notað það vegna þess að það kemur aldrei sms kóði til staðfestingar ef þú ert með erlent símanúmer. Reyndi að hringja í strætó, þau gátu ekkert gert, viðurkenndu að þetta væri þekkt vandamál. Konan lofaði að senda mér miðakort sem kom auðvitað aldrei. Gat aldrei notað strætó á Íslandi útaf þessu fn appi og varð að notast við hopp hjól og leigubíla í staðin. Why would a country waste money on this garbage. That's the first thoughts which come to mind. The app codes isd calling codes as 2 or more digits. Presto United States is missing in the drop down, but hey North Korea is present. Oh well you just feel sorry that they ended up paying money for this. ### 5/5 — Miklar framfarir/much improved *2025-09-13, version 2.3.9* Þegar Klappið kom fyrst í stað Strætóappsins var það óhentugt og frekar ömurlegt en núna virkar þetta alveg ljómandi vel! Það er auðvelt að kaupa miða og virkja (með staðfestu kreditkorti) og að finna ferðaleiðir og áætlun og sjá hvar vagnarnir eru á leiðinni. Áður var td vandamál að greiða og ferðaplanið datt út meðan á ferðinni stóð sem var mjög óheppilegt þegar skipts þurgti um vagn. Ég hef haft bílpróf í áratugi, vinn við að ferðast og á einkabíl en gleðst yfir hvað þetta er orðið þægilegt og aðgengilegt. Was brilliant for getting around locally. This added bus planner was also very helpful in determining the correct bus and route. ### 5/5 — It works! *2023-08-05, version 2.1.8* Lots of reviews here complain of the app not working. I downloaded the app and got it set up easily. I used it several times during my time in Iceland and it worked just fine. One tip is that if you’re travelling with family buy a group ticket (eg 2 adults & 2 children) in the app rather than single tickets as bus drivers don’t like to wait while you scan 4 separate QR codes, they just set off while you’re still scanning. ### 4/5 — It's getting better *2024-05-13, version 2.2.1* Seems to work fine now most of the time for my usage. I travel to work on the bus every work day and I've noticed a lot fewer issues lately.
