I’ll email the developer again about all the bugs and mention this too. He has always been super responsive, but I’m docking 2 stars for now. Good app, but lacking features and regular updates. — 2022: My Pi 4 is tucked away in a closet with the 3D printer. Although it never sputters on LAN while at home, it seems to be a different story externally and buffers quite a bit when accessing remotely outside of my house. Any remote access requires good connection, which I think I'm barely out of the range of in my "closet scenario." I still get email/text alerts immediately, but streaming for more than a few seconds seems to be barely out of reach. It's so close to 5 stars, but I think it could really benefit from some more development with better dynamic resolution / bps to avoid as much buffering. Could we even select what resolution we want easily instead of ONLY offering the dynamic? One star docked. I was also a beta tester since I've used Spaghetti Detective long before it was Obico. I think it's gotten better and they had Baby Step Z as a feature for awhile, but it disappeared! It worked perfectly for me, but I imagine it was a bit experimental and didn't work for everyone. I'm sad it's gone, but I can understand. No stars docked. iPad version needs a lot of work. It is basically just a camera in landscape mode and you can't click anything. I have a landscape keyboard case, so this is pretty frustrating. One star docked. ### 5/5 — Works well, even the free version *2025-01-08, version 2.21* This has been working exactly as advertised. My only nit is that on an IPad it won’t go into landscape mode ### 3/5 — Orcaslicer integration is useful, but lacking some key features *2024-10-20* I quite like the Orcaslicer integration, although the catalog of models on it is quite small. It would be great if I could upload my own STL’s, so then I can use my printer without a computer! Then I can design an object on-the-go, and initiate a print, all from my phone/iPad. The amount of settings that you can change with the slicer is limited, you won’t get the full customisation aspect of proper orcaslicer or prusaslicer. Being able to have the full customisation power as a normal slicer would be great! Specifically custom start/stop-gcode commands, for nozzle wipes and purging cycles. The actual AI detection aspect is great! I haven’t had many failures, but when I have it has detected and stopped them. (For some reason the free print hours that I started with for the first month have disappeared, and not carried over. Bug?) I would rate this higher if the slicer had more functionality, otherwise, I love your work! ### 5/5 — Excellent! *2024-09-26, version 2.16* Legitimately emailed with the CEO who was polite and incredibly responsive, the team really cares, I’m a returning customer, having purchased 2 years of use, and I have no regrets, well worth it, I use a raspberry pi running octoprint, and I wanted better interface, so I use Obico! This isn't about the Obico-Server itselfs, because the web-interface still shows the camera feed. App reports that it supports octopi but requires an obico server on the network or a cloud account? No thanks. ### 1/5 — It’s so dumb and useless *2025-01-29, version 2.21* Gives you zero tools in slicer, can’t even change the filament to TPU so I have to manually go in and change everything, can’t rotate my project to lay it flat so I don’t need supports cause again there’s no tools. Tried using a different slicer that does actually work, but it recognizes the printer, but won’t let me send to the printer. If I send the file through a usb stick from another slicer it just goes crazy when it’s printing. Seen everything online saying clipper is so much better than Marlin and I’m bout to throw all this away and go back. Nothing simple about it, hard to find videos for help, took me 3 nights to get the btt pi2 and klipper to work right. Did all of this to wifi print…. Could have just installed a wifi board to my screen and not got clipper and still been printing. First print and I got my first ever thermal run away failure. It’s possible I’ve done something wrong but my firmware has not changed my RPI4 has not changed and I have had no issues out of my printer until I installed this plugin. So just make sure you don’t walk away from your printer as this app makes you feel you can do. Wish I could have been a 5 star happy reviewer but I could never trust this company after something like that happens to my printer. No house fires for me. **Developer response:** Sorry for not seeing your review earlier. Although it's unlikely our plugin will cause a thermal runaway as we don't mess with the firmware, but I don't want to dismiss the issue you ran into. Please email us at support@thespaghettidetective.com so that we can work with you to figure out what might have happened. ### 1/5 — Warning - you have to pay per hour! *2021-01-26, version 1.20* Installed and set up only to find out you basically have to pay for every hour you have this watching a print. Payment is not through Apple-that’s why it doesn’t show as an in-app purchase. Kinda crazy they expect people to pay an hourly charge for prints that sometimes take days to complete. I’m sure they’ll respond by explaining how you get a certain amount of hours free or whatever. Look into it before wasting time installing and jumping through all the hoops. ### 2/5 — Tut mehr, eher weniger was es soll *2024-03-02* ...Hat aber deutliche Schwächen: - ca 25% der Spaghetti-Prints wurden bisher als "alles okay" durchgewunken - benutzt man "layermacro" für die Klipper-Timelapse, zeichnet Obico nach jedem Layer brav eine Pause ein. Damit werden Logs unlesbar. - hält Obico einen Druck wegen Spaghettiverdacht an, sind die Screenshots sehr klein, man kann kaum was erkennen - auf dem iPad nur im Hochformat bedienbar. Welch ein Geniestreich!
