I think it was intended to help the player at the start of a level, but often it feels like it’s working against you. In harder levels, it’s quite easy to get backed into a corner where you’re forced to restart or lose a life. It requires you to think about two things to succeed: which colors need to drop, and which bobbin from the board should you pick to do so? Where it becomes an issue is around level 20. You get an advertisement after every single level. No joke. There’s no way to skip either. There’s no timer, it doesn’t force you to play a certain amount, it’s just an endless loop with no exit button. It makes what is otherwise a charming game feel like adware in disguise. I get it. The devs gotta eat. But an advertisement with no timer and no way to skip after every single level? Come on. If it was every few levels and I could skip after 30 seconds, I might actually be more willing to pay the $7.99 to make the ads go away. Since it’s every level? Forget it. This automatically means that if we start the wrong side then we lose at the first turn.
