### 5/5 — I love knitrino!

*2024-04-05, version 1.7.2*

Knitrino has challenged me to try new knitting skills and learn new techniques. I would not have attempted color work without the app. The interactive patterns are wonderful to use, and the support is great. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

### 5/5 — Knitrino has changed the way I knit

*2024-04-04*

I’ve been using Knitrino for a few years now, and to me it’s just the best way to knit. It’s so nice to work on just one row at a time and be able to click on any stitch to see a video of how to do it. The patterns are just beautiful and if you join the Sprouts club you have the option to receive monthly kits that include gorgeous yarn, and sometimes during the knit nights on Zoom you can meet the different dyers and designers. Everything is just top notch. You just have to remember going in that Knitrino is not an app where you can use your own patterns. You will be using only Knitrino patterns that rotate frequently, so you never run out of something new and exciting to make. I’ve gotten to where if I do make a pattern that’s not in Knitrino I really miss the ease and the cheerful and positive atmosphere of the Knitrino app!

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2024-03-03*

Been knitting for decades and this is the technology I didn’t know i was waiting for! My last technology was index cards with pattern requirements listed and crossed out as I progressed. Thank you, Knitrino, for saving my index cards for grocery lists. And the sister CEO’s could not be nicer or more sincerely supportive and enthusiastic.

I particularly think this is great technology for beginners. So much good support and instructions.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-02-15, version 1.7.2*

Great app easy graph reading

### 5/5 — Best App for Knitting

*2024-02-05, version 1.7.2*

I love this app. It’s everything you need in one place. Pattern, row counter, tutorials for continental and flick knitters. You are really set up for success, and well supported through the app and all the features. It’s a great way to build confidence and learn new skills.

### 5/5 — Very good App

*2024-01-27, version 1.7.2*

As I am better at Knitting than I am at Tech I struggled at first to get my head around the App. but I persevered and am now finding it extremely useful & fun to use . I can really recommend it for beginners & skilled knitters.

### 5/5 — Gamechanger

*2024-01-26, version 1.7.2*

The most inventive knitting app you will ever encounter. The like by line directions alone sold me. There are so many patterns to choose from and the user experience is 10/10. If you love to knit, this little ecosystem has it all!

### 5/5 — LOVE KNITRINO!

*2023-12-15, version 1.7.2*

It took a little while to get used to this app, but once I did, I love it! I have learned so much. Its easy to learn new stitches and to keep track of my progress.

### 5/5 — Absolute game changer.

*2023-12-05*

This innovative app for knitters is truly incredible. I was afraid of cable work and then I made the Astral Hat using the Knitrino app and it was a breeze! The in-app mini tutorial videos are great to remind you how to do stitches (left leaning decrease, make one right) and it also helps you keep track of rows when you’re using a chart. Cannot recommend enough - download this app right now! I now wish everything I knit was available on Knitrino. It’s the best for traveling because you’ll never lose your spot in the pattern (no need to count rows!)
Andrea and Alison are so supportive and quick to respond to any questions or issues.
This is a great way to try a new technique - with the easy to use in-app tutorials, you can confidently tackle new techniques like brioche.
Note that this is not a chart-reader app; you use the patterns available in the app. It is not designed for you to store/access your own patterns or charts. Can’t wait for more patterns to be released :)

### 5/5 — Informative and Easy to Use

*2023-11-27, version 1.7.2*

The Knitrino app provides the knitter with everything he/she will need to successfully complete a project — custom-colored charts, context-sensitive help, right-hand and left-hand videos, training sessions … and a fabulous community of knitters ❤️

### 5/5 — Life-Changing Knitting Experience

*2023-11-14*

As someone who usually squeezes my knitting in while waiting in doctors offices, cars, or on lunch breaks, this app has changed the knitting game! Having something track where I left off and with easy videos to remind you how to complete stitches is life changing. I feel more comfortable working on complicated projects outside of my home. Yes, the patterns are pricier, but I think it’s 100% worth it for the convenience of being able to keep your place and pattern conveniently on your phone. Thank you Alison & Andrea for making this app!

### 5/5 — Best knitting app!!

*2023-11-13, version 1.7.2*

Knitrino makes knitting a breeze! It is so easy to follow the patterns and if there is ever a question on a stitch, all you have to do it touch the stitch and you get the exact video you need. Plus, it is only the part of the video you need. It also comes with a great supportive community! Knitrino has revolutionized my knitting for the better!!!

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2023-11-13, version 1.7.2*

I like that chart and written instructions are right there side by side.

### 5/5 — Game changer!

*2023-07-05, version 1.7.2*

If you are a knew knitter this app will be a game changer. Just click on any stitch on the graph for a tutorial. Excellent support available. You will be amazed!

### 5/5 — Great app and even greater community

*2023-07-05, version 1.7.2*

I love this app, it makes knitting so much more convenient than other apps/patterns. Tutorials are both written and videoed and Alison has the most soothing voice to keep you from getting frustrated. And if you ever have a problem, the sisters who created this app are great at helping you out.

### 5/5 — Never get bored and challenge yourself

*2023-07-05*

I’m a relatively new knitter but the way I keep myself motivated to start and finish projects is to find patterns that challenge me in some way. I want to learn new techniques and keep building my repertoire of stitches. Also, there is nothing more frustrating than getting the “boring” parts of a pattern and feeling like it will never ever end….i.e. the body of a sweater in stockinette. This app is the antidote! While you can’t upload your own patterns, the patterns in their library are always exciting and challenging for all levels of knitters. Even a total beginner can use this app because the charts are literally made to help you every step of the way. There are videos for all the stitches and they are useful for even left handed knitters! Each pattern has a pattern guide on their website too for extra support. PLUS, the knitrino team, Andrea and Alison, the sister duo extraordinaire, are very responsive to email so you can also contact them if you have any issues with a pattern. You won’t regret joining this community 🐙🐙

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Deceptive

*2024-09-14, version 1.7.2*

Does not list patterns cost $$. Very few patterns. Wish it was better.

### 1/5 — Stick to knitting, not politics

*2024-08-14, version 1.7.2*

(See review title)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-02-08, version 1.7.2*

You can open the app, but no patterns ever load in the shop, no matter how long you wait for it to “refresh”. You can click pattern links from an email to go to the app, but just a generic page with no pattern pops up. I have tried hard-restarting the app many times; no change. I can’t even see what patterns are available, let alone buy any. The app hasn’t been updated in a year (though they’re still apparently making podcasts and sending emails, so you would think a functional app would be a priority?) and it’s clearly not working properly anymore.

### 1/5 — Tutorial is useless

*2022-06-30, version 1.7.2*

No captions, making it useless for me.

Doesn’t seem to be any way to create you own patterns - doubly useless.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2022-02-07, version 1.7.2*

Uses exclusive to the app patterns only. A sock pattern is $12 and up?? There’s no way to add any of the hundreds of patterns I already own. Heard/read good things and wanted to support these developers but I probably won’t ever use this unfortunately.

### 1/5 — Not 5-Star Worthy

*2022-02-07, version 1.7.2*

App requires sign up and CC reg. No Apple Pay option. No “Sign-In with Apple” to keep your email private. Very minimal selection and pricey. Would not recommend this app.

### 1/5 — I don’t get it

*2021-06-19*

It may just be me, but I don’t understand all the 5 stars. The “pattern shop” literally has 10 patterns at the moment. Why is there a search function, there is quite literally nothing to search??? I love the idea of tracking color work or lace patterns, but the limited patterns available and no way to import pdf’s of patterns I already own makes this ap utterly useless for me.

Because many designers have left Ravelry, I was looking for another app to keep their patterns accessible. I have been using Ravit for quite some time to access my Ravelry patterns, and it works fantastic for that purpose. I was hoping this app would bridge the gap. I guess I’ll keep looking.

### 1/5 — Not intuitive or user friendly

*2021-06-03*

I have been knitting for years and have not been this frustrated with a project in years. The app does not save my place in the pattern, does not reliably transfer the pattern between devices, does not have an in app help feature, and does not work off line or in airplane mode. I am trying to knit a reasonably simple sock pattern and since the app is such a struggle I will be switching to a different pattern and platform. The app appears to be set up for a very narrow user experience and any users outside of that model need to adjust their way of working instead of the app adapting to them. Considering the high cost of each pattern and the inability to bring in outside patterns I would suggest folks think hard before using this app. I had high hopes for this app and am very disappointed.

### 2/5 — Limitations

*2020-11-20*

App is nice to use if you like the available patterns. On the phone the chart is not viewable all at once which results in scrolling from left to right constantly. So, in turn an app that was designed to be helpful actually causes another inconvenience. Patterns are incredibly expensive and do not provide a download to print option. There is no option to import your own patterns. There are very few options available to make that do not appeal to me. If this is going to be a resource for makers it needs to stretch a wider variety including crochet patterns. App claims to be similar to a high end knitting magazine but be prepared to pay much more for each pattern. Developers claim they pay one of the highest rates in the industry but I would also like to see the breakdown on that number. App feels disingenuous and elitist.

**Developer response:** Hi Seizansha! Our company was built on user feedback, and just about all of your feature requests are currently in the works, and crochet will be added soon. We will be the first to say Knitrino is a long way from finished! We are entirely self-funded, so we take things in small, bite-size pieces and build on them as we go. Similarly, we add new patterns each month. We will gladly refund your money - just email us at support@knitrino.com.

There are good reasons our prices are higher than PDFs - most importantly that all of our designers make a fair wage for their work. We pay designers over twice what leading magazines pay. We built Knitrino to uplift & support our awesome community of makers, and encourage you to read more about our values which are clearly articulated on our website. We also have a program for those experiencing financial hardship.

It sounds like you're happy with PDFs, so we recommend knitCompanion as the best PDF reader for knitters, and it's run by good people.
