Downloading the app is the ONLY thing that is free. You cannot see one single knot without paying $5 once you get into the app. I may have actually paid the $5 to unlock the whole thing if it wasn’t portrayed as free but completely locked down. Not sure how this is not false advertisement. You cannot look at a single knot without paying about $5. Is $5 potentially reasonable? Maybe. But how would I know without being able to see or do any knots before purchase? It’s pretty shady to boast and show reviews about how great you are, then not let anyone see any of the software before charging for it. It’s like me standing there and saying, it’s a free show ladies and gentlemen. And then once you walk into the theatre, telling you it’s $5 to turn the projector on. Seriously. How about do like every other app and have ads? Then supply the knots for free and get funding from ad revenue? This app is lame. When you choose a category such as Boating, you can then only see those knots. To choose another category, you have to hard stop the app and restart it. Also, there was no “free” know to see how the app works. FOLLOW UP: The developer did contact me saying you swipe left to right to go back but that doesn’t work. Also said no free sample. Since I can’t see at least one sample of a rope tie, I won’t bother trying the app again. Yes, there are ads after almost all levels starting at lever 15. Many I can skip after 5 seconds, or there is an option to buy the ad free version for only $2.99. After all this is a FREE game and the company needs to make money and they do that via ads. So if it bothers you that much spend the $2.99 for the free version. There are plenty of other games that don't allow you to skip ads. You earn coins and they add up pretty quickly.
