I wish there was an option to get a hint for just a letter. Anyway suddenly since this morning the game isn’t loading. ### 2/5 — Nice idea; poor implementation *2026-04-23* Two out of four puzzles, I had to guess arbitrarily because one of the words is not actually a word. I suppose technically “doest” is a word, but I don’t think it’s been used since the King James Bible, where it was archaic even for 1611, much less 2026. Also, the UX is clumsy. I don’t know what the rule is for where it moves the cursor next, but it seems to always go wherever you least want or expect it to go. And it’s hard to tell from the UI that you’re about to overwrite an existing letter, so you do so and then have to figure out how to undo that and then manually click where you wanted it to go. Maybe with enough experience I could get used to this, but I can’t imagine wanting to get that much experience. ### 4/5 — Please change cursor auto positioning *2026-02-10* The whole point of this game is solving puzzles quickly, is it not? The fun of it is in racing yourself to see if you can beat personal bests… right? Ok, great. Please change the way the highlighted box that accepts the next entry for a letter defaults based rigidly on rote order rather than intelligently defaulting to the next EMPTY box. In nearly every game, it’s almost impossible not to type over your own entries and jumble the words because the default keeps highlighting FILLED boxes and placing new entries in places that are already taken, forcing you to slow down and reposition the highlighter manually after every single entry. It’s a maddening issue and the game would be a lot more fun if it were fixed. ### 4/5 — Really good. Just one thing *2026-01-30, version 1.0.23* Ok, I just downloaded the app and it is super awesome! However, the Archive button always resets to current month and as such, I have to tap back over 40 months through to get to a month where there are unsolved puzzles. Also some of the hints are just wrong so no help at all. Of course not… ### 4/5 — Fighting the game *2025-01-22* The bad first: - the cursor automatically change to the next location where you can input a letter and it seems random so you’ll be fighting that constantly and it’s annoying. - achievements don’t always register. I am a completionist and the stats suggest I should have received every achievements. The good: It’s fun, it’s easy, it’s forgiving, overall another good game by Zack and team. I did their Sudoku and had the same good vs bad issues as this one. It doesn’t give you any information on how to play or walk you through a puzzle so you get the hang of it. It just tosses you in the mix and you have to guess everything from start to finish. Such a confusing game and one that I deleted from my iPad. Horrible concept and horrible execution. ### 1/5 — Makes no sense *2024-06-16, version 1.0.23* Played one level and it locked me into a puzzle where no matter what one word just could not be solved. The “hint” was so unhelpful too using purposefully vague definitions and using the word itself (crossed out of course) in the definition. I’m half convinced the puzzles were put together by an ai. ### 1/5 — Poorly designed and implemented, buggy *2024-06-02* Painful gameplay. User interface is the worst and least intuitive of all from this publisher, and the “themed” puzzles have many discrepancies. Zone text entry is frustrating, counterproductive, and has multiple bugs (eg jumps back and forth along the middle of linear words, cycles between only two out of four letters in the Zone, etc). It would be cool if the days best times were displayed so one could see where they stack up compared to other players. ### 5/5 — Very fun *2024-12-05, version 1.0.23* I don’t like word puzzles normally but this game is great :) ### 5/5 — If you enjoy word puzzles… *2024-11-27* Then this game is for you! IMO this is the perfect word game. 1. If you like to maintain a streak you can try the 3 daily puzzles. If you’re sick one day or if you forget, you have a chance to play 7 days in a row to make it up. Oh, and on these dailies you have unlimited hints! If you don’t care about streaks you can just play whenever. 2. Then there are the monthly puzzle books, 30 regular puzzles and 30 tricky puzzles a month. Here you only get 6 hints but you can earn back hints you used by completing a puzzle perfectly. The first few are easy but they get harder as the month passes. If you hang in there as the month goes by you will find the themed puzzles which are even more fun. Took me a while to get to love this app and learn how it works but now I try to play every day since I love word games to wake up my brain. : ) ### 5/5 — Amazing *2024-10-09* Fun and addictive ### 5/5 — True word game! *2024-05-04* This game is challenging and a little brain twisting sometimes, but it is a true word game for people who enjoy a challenge! Those complaining it’s too “scrabbley” are just upset because it’s challenging and not easy.
