You can’t change the settings from metres to feet unless you change all of your iOS settings by changing the region to USA. It thinks because I live in the UK that I’d measure film in metres. This just isn’t how film is measured or thought of so I found myself having to use the calculator after doing a separate conversion from feet to metres and back again which defeats the purpose. Come on kodak, give us the ability to choose metres or feet in the app or just make it feet by default worldwide. ### 4/5 — App is perfect! *2021-05-07, version 3.0* App is perfect don’t change a thing about! Always use it to determine how much film I need to buy and how long the runtime will be. ### 3/5 — Useful tools, but missing features. *2020-09-24, version 3.0* This is a really helpful app for calculating frame rates and time, but the older version had a sunrise/sunset calculator that I used on basically every outdoor shoot. This feature is missing on this version and it’s a real shame. ### 2/5 — Great app with a big flaw *2020-02-26, version 3.0* The unit of measure (feet or meters) is determined by the user’s phone regional settings, which is incredibly annoying if you’re, say, Canadian and want to know how long your 250 feet of film will last. Earlier version of Kodak apps allowed to select preference between meter and feet within app, so you would imagine that newer version would be an improvement not a downgrade. When im shooting sometimes I’ll refer to it to for a quick reference for DOF. Bravo. ### 5/5 — Kodak baby! *2023-01-18, version 3.0* Excellent for when you need to measure a film roll. ;) ### 5/5 — Use it Daily *2022-07-19, version 3.0* Run a transfer company where we take old movie film and capture it in 1080 or 4k depending on the cusromer. Most times the footage was undercranked at time of capture (film run slower so more content over fewer feet of film similar to VHS standard play vs long play) which means everyone becomes Charlie Chaplainesque when played back at the proper 18 fps aa opposed to 16 / 15 / or at the extreme end of 12 fps. I use this to determine the final charges after I time correct the footage to play back at ‘normal’ motion, which involves slowing the image playback down. Also great for when I take the Beaulieu or Bolex out to roll REAL film in todays harsh digital age. ### 5/5 — Fun tool *2022-06-15, version 3.0* It has some fun tools that I use all the time. Wish they would update it. ### 5/5 — Great DoF calculator *2022-01-23, version 3.0* This is a very simple app that was originally designed for use with analog motion picture films, for cinematographers. However, it can also be used for depth of field calculations for photographers who have full-frame digital cameras. Previously, I used other methods to perform those calculations, involving paper slide calculators or an electronic programmable calculator, but they were not as easy or as quick to use as this app. ### 5/5 — Good *2020-02-24, version 3.0* This app is very good ### 5/5 — Kodak Cinema Tools 3.0 *2018-12-19, version 3.0* Love the updated app for iOS 11. Please add an easy way to switch to Imperial units without having to use the Setting app. ### 5/5 — Most useful app around *2018-11-27, version 3.0* I’m a proud father of three full grown empowered women. We don’t have much to talk about these days besides my wife’s tulip bed that is regularly raided by the neighborhood rabbits so that no tulip bulbs have managed to bloom in the last ten years. This app saved my marriage and my relationship with my kids. Now all we talk about is what the depth of field on our favorite lenses. I’m even thinking of buying Kodak film and I’ve never seen a camera before.
