We were given the frame as a gift so we could get photos of our granddaughter who lives overseas. We are terribly disappointed as we have tried to get support and have received very little assistance. Such a great idea if only it worked. Who approved this at Kodak? ### 1/5 — Do not download this app *2021-06-07, version V1.1.5* I have never been motivated to review an app before, but I must warn you if you’re thinking of downloading this app: don’t do it. Return the Kodak frame and buy a different one instead. This app is so badly broken, it actually makes the Kodak frame practically unusable. If you are stuck with the Kodak frame and need to use this app, you will soon notice that you can’t change which photos show up on the “Album” screen. You’ll find that it’s limited to whichever specific photos you selected when you first installed the app, or else it’s your entire photo library with no way to search, filter, or sort. I’ve come up with a workaround allows you to change which photos appear in the app, but you do have to go through these steps every time. 1. Open the Settings app. 2. Tap “Privacy”. 3. Tap “Photos”. 4. Tap “KODAK Photo Frame”. 5. Tap “Selected Photos”, or if that’s already selected tap “Edit Selected Photos”. 6. Choose which individual photos you would like to add to the Kodak app Album screen. However, you cannot select anything from Shared Albums. 7. Return to the Kodak app and send the newly selected pictures to the frame. ### 1/5 — Awful app *2021-06-02, version V1.1.5* I would expect much better from an app with the Kodak name on it. De plus, quand je suis dans ma galerie et que je veux partager directement une photo, je n’ai pas l’application KODAK qui est proposée, c’est assez embêtant de devoir tout le temps passer par l’application. Selon moi, une mise à jour assez simple pourrait remédier à tous ces problèmes. Ça serait bien d’optimiser un peu l’application, on est quand même en 2021 !! Ces options sont je dirais : la base. C’est très fâcheux de ne pas les avoir. I tried to create an account twice using two different email addresses, and the app would never let me in. Despite showing them how defective their product is, they refuse to refund the product purchase price, instead asking the customer to send the product back to them at their own cost so they can show it works. It may work in China with the apps they have there, but doesnt work in Australia. Frames dont connect to the app and do not do what theyre advertised to do. Total waste of money. Im now pursuing a refund through Paypal, and then making a complaint against them with the ACCC. ## Most praised reviews (1 highest-rated) ### 2/5 — Horrible instructions *2020-12-26, version V1.1.3* You need a masters degree in engineering to figure this app out. Fortunately I have one so I got it to work. I feel sorry for nontechnical people who have to figure it out. I used to fire software developers who did this quality of work in my organization. A few words of advice. The paper instructions that come with the photo frame say when you first install the app, touch the Kodak icon on the screen to launch it. But there is no Kodak icon on the screen. After much frustration I realized you have to swipe through several screens before you find an icon called “Let’s get started.” Then, when you want to send photos to the photo frame, they have to be photos that physically reside on your iPhone. I wanted to load photos that reside on a shared album managed by another family member and they didn’t show up under “Albums” on this app. After more thought I discovered I had to copy those photos onto my iPhone before I could send them to the photo frame. Nowhere do the instructions tell you this, and it doesn’t make sense for you to have to do this. It’s the result of lazy software developers probably working with a novice product manager who didn’t do a good job of representing customer needs. And how do you get it to play an album? You have to touch one of the photos, then know to scroll up to display a command line that includes “Play” as one of the choices.
