## What is Koine?

Koine helps people follow conferences, keynotes, classes, services, and other live events in their own language, with live translated captions in 64 languages and verified AI voice output in 57.

Scan an event QR code or enter a short code to join instantly. Follow live translated captions, see approved Bible verses when enabled by the organizer, and keep a private history of services or events you attended.

With a signed-in listener account, you can save highlights and notes, revisit transcripts, ask grounded questions about your saved material, and generate private review tools such as summaries, study cards, and review audio.

For listeners:
- Join live translation from a QR code or code.
- Choose from the event's available languages.
- Save highlights, notes, and important verses.
- Revisit attended events in Library.
- Ask Koine Plus about one event or all saved notes.
- Generate private summaries, study cards, and review audio.

For hosts:
- Koine Live Pro turns this phone into the room microphone: one event at a time, up to 3 translation languages, up to 50 listeners, 4 language-hours each month, and Koine Plus included.
- Koine works with the Koine booth/console so organizers can publish live captions, translations, listener QR codes, approved verse overlays, and replay material.

Live translation quality depends on audio quality, internet connection, and the event organizer's settings. AI summaries, translations, and captions may contain mistakes and should be reviewed before important use.

Subscriptions are optional, auto-renewing, and billed to your Apple ID. Koine Plus is USD 6.99/month or USD 59.00/year and includes a monthly AI allowance; unused top-up allowance does not expire. Koine Live Pro is USD 24.99/month or USD 179.00/year and includes Koine Plus. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase and renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel in Apple ID settings. Koine Plus can be topped up with one-time allowance packs (1x USD 6.99, 2x USD 12.99, 4x USD 22.99). Koine Live Pro can be topped up with non-expiring hour packs (2 hours USD 12.99, 5 hours USD 29.99, 10 hours USD 54.99), which are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Joining events and syncing Library stay free.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-10-05

• Things your organizer turns off, like questions or notes, are now hidden on iPhone and iPad.
• The Lock Screen card shows when an event is paused, reconnecting or ended. It no longer piles up when you rejoin, and tapping it opens the event.
• Live event notifications now appear in your language, and late ones no longer pop up after the service.
• Hosts see who pays and how many hours are left before they start. On an iPad Station, saving is greyed out when your organization has turned it off.
• Fixes for the Bible card, the App Clip header and the replay message.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-09-30

Live translation on iPhone is steadier: if your phone stops hearing the room, Koine tells you and picks up again when you come back. When your own phone is the microphone, use earbuds to hear the translation. Asking the AI to translate now shows you how to choose your language. Swiping between transcript, notes and Ask follows your finger, the live screen is tidier, and your phone stays cooler during long services.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-21

This update improves joining by QR code with a smaller App Clip and refines conversation controls on iPhone and iPad. On iPhone, swipe between the transcript, your notes and AI chat. School demos now keep audio, captions and lesson boards together. We’ve also improved personal recordings, saved transcripts and iPad Station settings.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-16

This update improves sign-in reliability and account continuity, with safer credential storage behind the scenes. It also includes performance improvements and bug fixes.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-14

Conversation now starts with two simple choices: talk in person or call a saved Koine contact. Setup stays on one screen while you choose one or two phones and each person’s language. This update also adds recent conversations and native incoming-call controls, clearer Event, Join, Intelligence, and Library navigation, event pause and resume, human-interpreter invitations, and flexible event artwork.
