No point in downloading it if the drivers do not accept the rides. Had to use another app to get back to my hotel, otherwise I would be stranded. Do yourself a favor and just download LOCA. It’s more expensive but at least the drivers will pick you up and get you to where you need to go. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — Too hard to set up *2025-02-17* I really wanted to use this app as a traveler, so I got a Lao SIM card, but it still will not send a verification code to either my Lao number or my US number. Meanwhile, it took two seconds to sign up with Loca. I’m sure I could solve the problem with Kokkok if I wanted to spend still more time on it, but I’ve given up. ### 1/5 — Can’t create account with US phone number. *2025-01-24* We have ridden KOKKOK with family who lives in Laos and love the service especially when it comes to price/haggling and not being scammed. Downloaded app to use the app ourselves but without a Lao phone#/phone service app does not work. It does allow for US phone number to be used but still won’t be able to create an account. There has to be an alternate way for the abilities for phone with only internet connection to use the app. Otherwise KOKKOK is missing out on potential opportunities . ### 1/5 — No US verification *2025-01-06* App will not allow new account because it will not send verification code to US number. The app will not let me create an account because it will never send me a confirmation code. KOKKOK Move. ### 4/5 — Good enough *2025-01-30* Get a Lao SIM card, recommend one from Lao Telecom booth from the airport. Download app and use KOKKOK it’s one of the best way to move around in Vientiane. It’s also probably the cheapest way. You’ll know the price you’ll pay for each ride beforehand. The fare is set by the app. We used it everyday while in Vientiane and highly recommend it vs taxi or tuktuk. No more being scammed and haggling with drivers and having them being mad when you refused to accept their fare/ride.
