### 5/5 — This app is amazing if your learning Korean

*2025-10-26*

It helps you pronounce Korean sentences and if you get them wrong it’s ok because it will repeat until you get it right and it can be useful and it tells you what you will learn to say!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great feedback, repeating until you nail it and showing exactly what you’ll say? That’s the magic we built in! So glad it’s helping your pronunciation.

If you’re struggling to find someone to practice with then this is great. Plus I love the video feature they have where it uses popular clips from dramas and memes to help you improve pronunciation and sound
more like a native.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind words struggling to find practice partners? Koko’s got you covered! And loving the drama meme clips for nailing pronunciation? That’s exactly why we added them thrilled it’s helping you sound native.
Keep practicing you’re doing great

### 5/5 — Sooo greatt!!

*2025-10-10*

I’ve been trying sooo many apps to learn Korean, and finally found the one! This app is seriously awesome — it uses clips from K-dramas and TV shows for practice, and omg it’s killing me (in a good way 😂).

**Developer response:** OMG your review has me grinning ear to ear, after trying sooo many apps and landing on Koko as the one? That’s the ultimate win! K-drama clips killing it in the best way? 😂 We live for that.
Keep slaying those scenes

### 5/5 — it feels like learning Korean inside real life

*2025-10-04*

The short video clips are so fun and relatable. I can hear how native speakers actually talk, and repeat it right away. It doesn’t feel like studying at all, more like watching K-dramas and picking up phrases naturally.
It’s the first time I’ve felt confident speaking Korean out loud. Thank you for making this app.

**Developer response:** Your review just made my whole week—turning K-drama vibes into real speaking confidence? That’s the dream we built Koko for! Love that the short clips feel fun, relatable, and let you repeat native speech on the spot.
You’re crushing it—keep talking out loud!
Grateful for you

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cute interface but not there yet

*2026-08-15*

I said something completely wrong to see if the AI would make me do it again, and it didn’t. Not helpful when you’re really trying to learn.

**Developer response:** Hi Smileyshelby, you’re absolutely right. If you say something clearly wrong, Koko should mark it
incorrect and ask you to try again, not move you forward.

We found a lesson flow that could advance even after an incorrect speaking attempt, and we’re fixing it so learners get a clear correction and another chance to practice.

Thank you for testing this and calling it out. This isn’t the learning experience we want to provide.

### 1/5 — App Crashes

*2026-05-12*

Too many stalled simulations. Even with most updated iOS

**Developer response:** Hi ClokTD,

I’m really sorry about this.

If the simulations are still stalling even on the latest iOS, that’s definitely something we need to look into. Koko should feel smooth while you’re learning, not keep interrupting your lessons.

Thank you for mentioning the iOS version too. That helps us understand the issue better. We’ll check this and keep working to make the simulations much more stable.

Sorry again, and thank you for letting us know.

### 1/5 — nice app

*2025-12-17*

it’s a nice app but i wish you didn’t have to subscribe or pay to learn korean 😔

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words! We have good news: We are currently working on a free version so you can learn without a subscription. It will be released very soon, so please stay tuned!

### 2/5 — Good content, very glitchy

*2026-03-04*

I loved the app itself, it was really helpful. However, every lesson would eventually begin crashing and shutting the app off. I tried redownloading, updating, etc and it just constantly would crash. I can’t justify spending money on an app that crashes so much.

**Developer response:** Hi garrarjarjar,

I’m really sorry about this.

It honestly hurts to hear that you liked Koko and found the lessons helpful, but couldn’t keep using it because of the crashes. That’s not the experience we want you to have, especially if you were considering paying for the app.

Thank you for trying things like redownloading and updating before leaving this review. We’ll take this seriously and look into the crashing issue so Koko can be much more stable.

Really sorry again, and thank you for being honest with us.

### 3/5 — Help

*2026-03-13*

I can not open the app to start using it

**Developer response:** Hi Jodor91813,

I’m really sorry about this. If you can’t even open Koko to get started, that’s a very frustrating first experience, and it definitely shouldn’t be happening.

Thank you for letting us know. We’ll look into this issue and work on making sure Koko opens properly and runs more reliably.

Really sorry again, and I hope you’ll be able to try Koko soon.

Jake from the Koko Team

### 3/5 — Useful but buggy

*2026-02-07*

I've been using the roleplay feature on this app for a couple of months now. What has differentiated Koko from other Korean language learning apps for me is that it also teaches some casual speech and colloquial terms, while other apps focus only on polite/formal speech. I also really like how bite-sized but useful the roleplay simulations are. Recently though, I haven't been able to make any progress. I'll do the first card lesson of a simulation (sometimes it lets me do the first two) and then it doesn't let me proceed and also doesn't save my progress, so I've literally been doing the same card lesson over and over for the past ~5 days now. Please fix this!

**Developer response:** Hi Megatronnnnnnn08,

First of all, thank you so much for using Koko for the past couple of months and for explaining this so clearly.

It really means a lot to hear that the roleplay lessons, casual speech, and colloquial expressions are what made Koko stand out for you. That’s exactly the kind of real Korean we want to help people learn.

And I’m really sorry about the recent issue. Getting stuck on the same card over and over for days sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when your progress isn’t being saved. We’re going to look into this right away and work on fixing it.

Thank you again for taking the time to tell us. Feedback like this helps us make Koko better, and we really appreciate your patience.

### 4/5 — Glitchy but amazing app

*2026-04-25*

This app is great for speaking and having actual conversations. However, I can’t even get through one lesson without it freezing up on me. I constantly have to delete and reload the app just to continue with my lessons. Please fix this.

**Developer response:** Hi Kaylee1019,

I’m really sorry about this.

It means a lot to hear that Koko has been helpful for speaking practice and real conversations, but it’s not okay that the app freezes before you can even finish one lesson.

Having to delete and reinstall the app just to keep learning sounds really frustrating. Thank you for telling us clearly. We’ll take this seriously and work on making the lessons much more stable.

Really sorry again, and thank you for still seeing the good in Koko even with these issues.

### 5/5 — Nice App

*2026-07-14*

The app is very well-organized. I find the design very appealing, and it gives me the feeling that I’m learning in a playful way. There are various learning features, including a speech function. I’ve tried many learning apps, but this is the best one so far. The AI’s pronunciation is really clear, which makes things much easier.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the wonderful review, alexandrajuz95! We are thrilled to hear that you love our design and find the learning process so playful and engaging. We worked hard on perfecting the AI's pronunciation and interactive features, so knowing it makes a difference for you means the world to us. Happy learning, and we’ll keep doing our best to make it even better! 🚀

### 5/5 — Amazing! 🤩

*2026-05-10, version 2.14.0*

Exactly like Duolingo, but the possibilities are far more vast, and there is so little ads! I love this teaching system, and have not ran into any bugs. Best online learning experience you can get with zero pay.

### 5/5 — So much potential!

*2025-12-21*

Love the plethora of features and the good looking AI actors!

I think the next step would be to focus on a solid flow for learning because right now the learner may not know where to start and may be overwhelmed by all the features!

Giving five stars because I’m super excited for what this could become! Go Jake!!

**Developer response:** Hi Josh, thank you so much! It means the world to hear you cheering me on.You are totally right about the learning flow, it is our top priority right now. We are building a structured 'Learning Path' so users know exactly where to start without feeling overwhelmed. Thanks for believing in us!
