### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2020-10-24, version 1.6*

Really well made app, thanks!

### 5/5 — Awesome app!!!

*2020-08-16, version 1.6*

I don’t know what I would do without this app. I have multiple batches of Kombucha brewing at all times. Thank you for making this available! The full paid version is absolutely worth the value. @drboochbrew

### 5/5 — Super helpful!

*2020-08-12*

Great app if you’re brewing several batches at a time and want to track them all. Big fan! I paid the $5.99 for the full app in order to track all the 2nd fermentations and flavorings.

If there was a “social” element to this app, kinda like untappd, this app would be stellar. I have a few friends who brew too, so I’d love to be able to share our brews through the app. Or maybe be able to create a “group” where we can share and talk. That’d be dope

### 5/5 — Great App to keep track of ingredients & flavorings

*2020-07-14*

Easy to use. Edit entries when necessary. I bought the upgrade so I could keep track of secondary fermentations. Working well.

### 5/5 — Simple and what it’s for

*2020-06-23*

Sure I could have organized my kombucha on a project tracking app or my calendar but apps are nice places to put things. This is simple and the free version has enough to get the basics.

The notes section is great for recipes for commenting on location or temp etc if you’re testing out best places to ferment.

### 4/5 — Nice app; would like some more functions

*2020-05-14*

I start using the app today and copied over my notes from my batches into the app. For the most part, I like the interface. However there are a few things that I would like to see added:

-a section to add ph/season/temperature conditions
-a (larger) space dedicated to making notes about F1 and F2. Right now, it’s just a small box above the photos.
-a general journal space outside of the brewing input space for writing down and ideas that might come about during the process.

**Developer response:** Hey there, thanks for using the app and for your feedback! It’ll be considered for future versions.

Happy brewing!

### 5/5 — Fun app!

*2020-03-29, version 1.5*

Small update would be to allow different types of sugars to be tracked. I use sugar & honey in different amounts...

### 5/5 — Good for Homebrewers!

*2020-01-16*

Just began home brewing again, so excited to add some content to this app- might be cool to browse other people’s brews and flavorings/ have contacts. Maybe it does already and I don’t see that, but that would be pretty cool! Thanks so much for making this awesome app- looking forward to further developments!

### 5/5 — Nice find

*2019-12-02*

Was looking for a general project tracker to use for tracking my brews, but I found this instead. Looks like it has what I meed in terms of features.
***Edited to add that it would be nice to include days of the week anywhere dates appear, and that a place/tab to store recipes and notes would be great too.
The recipe area could use more customization options. Would be nice to be able to enter what kind of sugar and water was used, like for the tea. Helpful stuff to track!
I actually use this app to track three kinds of fermented drinks, not just Kombucha, and the recipe area doesn’t fit those other ferments great (Water kefir and Ginger bug). Could be nice to have more flexibility/customization there.
Overall fills its purpose, but a bit barebones.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thanks for using the app and for your feedback! It’ll be considered for future versions of the app.

Happy brewing!

### 4/5 — Need temperature and pH- good start

*2019-06-21, version 1.2.1*

Good visuals and nice layout, but I would like to track temp/pH to help with improving my taste profile.
Also would prefer a way to have more than one type of tea/sugar listed as I like to mix those quite often, (20g black, 10 Oolong or green tea) etc.
Just started the 14 day trial for evaluation of the paid version. Will review again later.

### 4/5 — Good start

*2019-05-03*

Update: Thank you for pointing out the recipe feature. Updated to 4 stars.

This app has serious potential. What I would like to see is the ability to change the measurement type in each brew log. Being able to add photos is nice, except there’s no space for a caption to remind myself of exactly why that photo was saved. Also a section to keep recipes would be nice. So ingredients and flavors could just be automatically added in the batch addition. Maybe a community section to share recipes, ideas, success, failure, etc. would be nice.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thanks for using the app and for your feedback. One of your observations that’s already available in certain way is the place to keep your recipes so you can add them automatically when creating a new batch. To do this, tap on the “Copy from previous brew” option in the ingredients section while adding or editing a brew. Hope this is useful to you. The rest of your feedback will be considered for future versions of the app.

Happy brewing!

Update: We’ve taken your feedback into account and the latest version of the app lets you add notes to every photo of your brews!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — It is NOT a free app

*2019-05-26, version 1.2.1*

This is ridiculous how you have to pay for a subscription to use this app although you can download it for free! What is the point of making the app free if you have to subscribe to use it!

### 2/5 — Good idea, but can't upgrade

*2024-10-27, version 1.8.2*

This looks like it could be a good app, but the limited features in the free version aren't enough for me, and the upgrade purchase doesn't work (never submits)

### 3/5 — Add other fermentation options

*2023-09-10, version 1.8.2*

Would be nice to add other fermentation options such as creating starters. Nice tracker for starters.

### 3/5 — Fun app

*2023-04-20*

Good record keeping, but has a mind of its own re: second fermentation..very limited on number of characters you can enter for flavorings, and does not allow you to manually enter completion dates.

### 3/5 — Fun - could be better though!

*2022-01-11*

I’m enjoying the ability to log my brews, but I gotta admit, for $5.99 I was hoping for a lot more functionality. Maybe more interactivity with the app, with other users, etc etc etc! I feel like it could be an awesome catalyst for a Kommunity!!! (Get it? Ha…)

### 3/5 — Good app, maybe future enhancements.

*2021-12-26*

I have been working on an iOS Shortcut to track my fermenting, but this does just about everything my Shortcut did, with the exception of tracking my temperatures and pH levels. Maybe with a future enhancement, these can be added as well.

### 3/5 — Nice but I want to list multiple flavors for 2F

*2020-05-26, version 1.5.1*

It gives you one line to write them all. I make 5 different Flavors for each batch. I wish there was a more satisfying way to plug them in. Hope you guys are still working on this app. Thanks.

### 3/5 — Needs to be able to sync on different devices

*2020-03-30*

I have sent two emails through the app with no response. I have the app on my iPad and iPhone, but the info doesn’t transfer. It is easier for me to input on my iPad, but I want to be able to check it when my iPad is not handy, but I see no way to sync the apps. Most apps I have can be used on both devices with the data showing on both devices. I have the paid upgrade.

**Developer response:** Hello! Your emails were now replied to, sorry for the delay!

The app currently doesn't support multi-device sync. It only stores your information locally in each device where you install it. Sorry if this doesn't meet your needs and thanks for the feedback, it’ll be considered for future versions of the app.

Happy brewing :)

### 3/5 — 1/2 finished

*2019-02-07, version 1.0*

Brewing kombucha is a 2 step process and this app only covers the primary fermentation. Needs to track the bottling/secondary phase. Until then it’s incomplete

### 4/5 — Great for batch brewers!

*2021-01-31*

I have used an excel spreadsheet to track my continuous brewing cycles for years but I thought I should get in the “app wagon” for the convenience. I looked at what was out there and this app seemed like the best. I have used it for a few CB cycles and I could use a few more features. Like how many bottles I pulled for F2. And the result of F2. Was carbonation achieved? And in my spreadsheet, I tracked the total number of bottles brewed at $5 per bottle for a savings of $1,200. Helped to motivate this home brewer. Love my booch!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Helps me keep track of brews

*2024-03-27*

Very simple clean app. I like everything about it. I can add a pic, set a reminder alarm…things I couldn’t do in my paper log. Love it.

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2022-12-07*

It helps me easily keep track of all the things happening in my kitchen. I use it to track not only my kombucha but my other ferments and sourdough as well. The notes section is helpful so I can track recipe alterations and results.

### 5/5 — I like it so far

*2022-09-05*

I've only been using it a few days and like it so far. I'm mainly using it for second ferments; it's nice to not have to write notes on each bottle or on a notepad. I'm considering upgrading so that I can set reminders, as I have numerous ferments going. It would be nice if I could format to fit other ferments (jun, gingerade, coffee kombucha, even fruit and veggie ferments, etc.!).

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2022-06-16*

Nice app!

### 5/5 — Best app for keeping track of Booch Brews!

*2022-02-12*

I’ve just logged my 60th brew in the app and it’s been great from the start. Super simple and clear. Only bug I’ve encountered is that for the last few months (latest version maybe?), it closes/crashes whenever I save a new brew. But when I open it again the brew is there, so it’s not detrimental.

### 5/5 — Good

*2022-02-05, version 1.8.2*

Some tips on how to make kambucha would make it even better. Otherwise good app

### 5/5 — Brilliant!

*2020-12-22*

I’ve been using this app for almost a year now and it has helped me keeping track of my brews. At the moment I have four 4L jars and being able to know which one is gonna be ready next is just marvellous. The app is intuitive enough and does not have any unnecessary stuff. I don’t normally leave reviews but I thought this one deserved more praise. Cheers to the developers!

**Developer response:** Thanks! I’m very glad that you’re liking the app and it’s been useful for you.

Happy brewing!

### 5/5 — Just started with this App

*2020-12-10*

So far so good. How about adding additional pH readings and tasting notes during F1.

How about adding F3 and CB for those who use it. I’ve now logged two batches and working on number three which is a CB start.

### 5/5 — Helps me keep it all straight!!

*2020-12-09*

You wouldn’t think it would be difficult to keep a single kombucha straight, but life gets in the way and it is easy to lose track. I love the Reminders feature for both first and second fermentation so that I remember when to manage my batch either in first or second fermentation. No more forgetting where things are or adding notes or reminders to my phone. The app takes care of it all.

I had one issue with the app and the developer worked with me directly to resolve. Great customer service.

### 5/5 — Useful and intuitive

*2020-12-01, version 1.7*

Easy to navigate, nice bright interface
