## What is Konect 2?

Konect 2 is a ground-up rebuild of the Konect field data collection platform.
Same proven workflows. Modern architecture.
Designed to work reliably in the real world.

** Konect 2 **

Works anywhere — data is stored and managed on your device first, then synced when you're back in coverage. No more losing work in the field.
Data Tabs — complex records are organised into focused, navigable tabs (e.g. Asset, History, Photos, Work Orders, Inspections) instead of long scrolling forms.
Multi-basemap support — switch between satellite imagery, street maps and other layers on the fly from within a project.

* Core capabilities

Konect 2 carries forward the full feature set of Konect:

Custom form building with auto-populating fields, role-based variants and photo annotation
Points, lines and polygons with vertical topology and snap-to-feature editing
Auto GPS drawing for accurate position tracking in the field
Data import, collection and export — no coding required
Queries and filters for working with large datasets
Full audit trail with activity playback
Device-level search across forms and records

* Who it's for

Konect is used by field crews, inspectors, contractors and asset managers across telecommunications, roads and infrastructure, utilities, local government, agriculture and environment, disaster recovery, and maintenance management. If your work involves collecting location-based data in the field, this is the tool.
Konect 2 runs alongside Konect v1

Both apps will be available in the store during the transition period.
Your existing projects and data are not affected.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.22 — 2026-08-21

Automatic syncing works again. A change introduced on 14 August could leave automatic background syncing silently stopped, so edits made on the device were never sent to the server until a sync was started by hand. Automatic syncing now runs reliably again, including after switching accounts or leaving demo mode.

Photos no longer get stranded on the device. If the connection dropped while photos or other attachments were uploading, those files could be left in a state where they were never retried — they stayed on the device and never reached the server. Uploads now recover from a dropped connection, and any attachments already stuck from previous versions are detected and sent automatically after updating.

Fixed a crash when changing the app theme. Switching between the standard and high-visibility themes could crash the app mid-transition.

### 1.0.21 — 2026-08-20

What's new

Choose what tapping the map does. A new Gestures for View/Edit mode setting lets you decide whether a tap opens a feature or selects it, with long press doing the other. Selecting keeps you on the map: a single feature appears on a card, and when several features sit under your finger you get a pager to swipe through them. Either way, everything found is waiting for you on the Data tab.

Favourite projects. Long press a project in the project chooser to star it. Favourites are pinned to the top of the list so the projects you use every day are always first.

Per-basemap label colours. Long press a basemap in the chooser to toggle reversed map labels for that basemap and save the current label colours against it, so each basemap remembers the label styling that suits it.

Optional 3D map tilt. Map tilt is now off by default to prevent accidental tilting while you work. If you want it, there's a new *Allow map tilt (3D)* setting to turn it back on.

Fixed

Much better photo quality on Android. Photos taken and attached in the app were being resized in a way that visibly degraded them. Photos are now resized using our own method, giving noticeably sharper images at a *smaller* file size — so they upload faster too. A spinner now shows while an image is being processed, so it's clear the app is working.

Back gesture no longer loses your changes in image viewer and editor. Swiping back from the image viewer or image editor could skip the form's "unsaved changes" confirmation and discard your edits. Back now correctly returns you to the form.

Tapping features on the map is reliable again. Fixed a case where tapping a feature sometimes failed to open it, and a separate problem where tapping a single line feature while offline selected several features at once.

Map buttons are reachable on Android tablets. In landscape, the Android system taskbar could cover the map's buttons. The map now lays out clear of it.

Appearance polish throughout. The Konect banner now follows the active theme, divider weights are consistent across choosers, tables and settings cards, the project chooser's favourite star uses the standard ink colour, and the manage-project sheet now matches the styling of every other sheet in the app.

Changed Behaviour

Map tilt is now disabled by default. If your workflow relies on tilting the map into a 3D view, enable Allow map tilt (3D) in Settings after updating.

### 1.0.20 — 2026-08-14

What's new

Tap and hold anywhere on the map to inspect a feature. A card slides up showing that feature's details, and you can flick it away with a swipe when you're done. The card now extends behind the zoom buttons so more of your data stays visible. [K2B-225, K2B-227, K2B-240]

Terrain profile improvements. The elevation profile now scrolls at a consistent 10 km scale beneath a centred playhead, estimates your walking time based on the pack weight you choose, and no longer blocks the map underneath it — you can pan and zoom while it's open.

Live zoom level on the map. When the zoom buttons are enabled, the current zoom level is displayed alongside them. [K2B-238]

See at a glance which basemaps are downloaded. The basemap chooser now shows an *On device* or *On cloud* pill for every offline basemap, and you can pull down to refresh the list and re-check what's actually stored on your device. [K2B-241, K2B-239]

Map label colour is remembered per basemap. Long-press a basemap in the chooser to set its label colour, and your choice sticks for that basemap. [K2B-242]

Easier date and time entry. Date and time fields now use a scrolling wheel picker, with a **Now** button to fill in the current date and time in one tap. [K2B-232]

Fixed

Fixed crashes on the Data tab and when opening records. Switching between accounts and working on an unreliable connection are both handled more smoothly. [K2B-247]

The map selection is now cleared when you change project, environment, or account, so you no longer see a leftover feature card from your previous context. [K2B-226]

Restoring a saved map view no longer brings back an out-of-date basemap. [K2B-231]

Basemaps that have been removed on the server are now cleared from your list, and downloaded basemaps are verified against what's actually on your device. [K2B-233]

The feature card no longer shows summary fields that are hidden in the form. [K2B-230]

The Advanced GPS settings toggle now stays where you left it. [K2B-243]

Updated the built-in fallback list used when the online configuration can't be reached, so the app keeps working normally in that situation.

### 1.0.19 — 2026-08-07

What's New

Stronger protection for your saved sign-in. Your session is now kept in the device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, encrypted storage on Android) instead of the app database. Existing sign-ins are carried over automatically, so you won't be signed out by this update. Your Konect account can now also be used to sign in to the companion Konect Status Reporter app.

Clearer feedback when you tap the map. Tapping the map now shows a marker with a ripple, gives haptic feedback, and tells you when there's nothing at that spot. The marker fades away once you're done with the result. [K2B-194, K2B-197]

Light/dark map labels. A new toggle in the basemap picker inverts map label colours so they stay readable over any basemap. [K2B-187]

Copy a field label. Long-press any form field label to copy its text. [K2B-188]

Automatic capitalisation of the first letter you type in form text fields (skipped for username and password fields). [K2B-186]

Easier navigation of wide data grids — you can now swipe the column headers sideways to scroll the grid. [K2B-193]

Redesigned data view headers in the Data tab, with a record-count pill, used consistently across single and multiple views and in related items. [K2B-162]

Open a feature's form straight from the map. Long-press the map to select the top-most feature at that point, then open its form from a new button on the map toolbar. [K2B-223]

Demo Mode appears as its own card on the Accounts page, your demo data is kept when you switch between accounts (use "Remove" when you want to clear it), and the app returns you to Demo Mode automatically when you restart. Tapping "Resume" now shows a progress spinner while your demo content loads. [K2B-218]

Rebuilt filtering on the Data tab. The filter panel has been redesigned to match the rest of the app, and now lets you filter the items within a list field and control matching with independent "match case" and "match whole value" switches. [K2B-210] [K2B-122]

Search now tells you what it's searching. The search filter names the fields your search term will be matched against, so it's clear why a record did or didn't match. [K2B-217]

Sharper basemaps when you zoom in past the map's normal limit. Basemaps now carry minimum and maximum zoom levels, allowing tiles to be over-zoomed instead of disappearing. [K2B-200]

Projects pick up basemap changes. A project's basemaps are now reconciled against the account's current basemaps, so updates made centrally reach existing projects instead of leaving them on an old copy. [K2B-200]

Refreshed app icon, splash screen and home logo, rebuilt to the correct Konect mark proportions. [K2B-206] [K2B-207]

Redesigned the copy-value "Change" chooser as a themed panel with the same grid layout as the Data tab. [K2B-121]

### 1.0.17 — 2026-07-23

What's new

Call and email directly from forms. Text fields containing a phone number or email address now show quick action buttons to place a call or start an email. [K2B-155]

Multi-line notes support line breaks. You can now use carriage returns inside multi-line text fields for better-formatted notes. [K2B-156]

Clear optional date and time fields. Non-mandatory date, date/time and time fields can now be cleared once set. [K2B-157]

New animated splash screen. A refreshed, theme-aware startup screen tuned for each platform, alongside updated Konect2 colour branding. [K2B-149]

Basemap downloads now resume automatically. If you leave the download screen — or even fully close and reopen the app — basemap downloads pick up where they left off, and download errors are now shown clearly on the cards. [K2B-120, K2B-125]

Clearer basemap information. Basemap cards now display an icon and label indicating the type of basemap, and show a download percentage for supported formats instead of just a spinner. [K2B-124]

Orphaned records made visible. Records that have lost their link to a parent now show an indicator with an option to relink them from the form page (available in developer settings). [K2B-163]

Fixed

Map labels no longer overlap by default, giving a cleaner map view, with the latest mapping improvements from our map engine. [K2B-150]

Data updates from map selections now refresh correctly. Editing a record chosen from a multi-selection on the map now updates both the data view and the form as expected. [K2B-112]

Data grid no longer crashes when sorting by a date column after saving a form. [K2B-153]

Data grid shows the correct column headers for form variants instead of the primary field names. [K2B-151]

Data tab now refreshes when the loaded project has been updated. [K2B-152]

No more repeated "project has been updated" messages on the home screen. [K2B-154]

Text now shrinks to fit instead of being clipped where space is tight. [K2B-160]

Smoother data tab interactions. The action bar now animates away when you cancel a selection, the keyboard dismisses on save, and the clear button is hidden on empty fields. [K2B-158, K2B-159]

Consistent dialog styling across all confirmation and information dialogs. [K2B-161]

Fixed a data loading error with zoom reported in logs. [K2B-164]
