### 1/5 — app Support non existent

*2020-05-05, version 3.1.4*

The app is weirdly designed yet shows interesting possibilities. Sadly support responds with a trite “Sorry… “ then proceeds to make you jump through hoops to even get to ask a question. I have a Fibaro light sensor, so in setting up an automation it allows me enter the Lux level on a slider with 154 lumen increments but that’s it. Keyboard entry works bit doesn’t hold the setting. They need a software support and quality assurance 101 class instead of an Alexa type artificial response.

### 1/5 — Alexa compatibility

*2020-03-02, version 3.1.3*

App works fine and so does p1 plus with homekit and through the app. But on alexa it is very very inconsistent. More often not working than working (80-20)
Seems like a simple fix but have not seen an update on either the skill or firmware to address. The company simply does not care it appears and falsely advertise that it is alexa compatible, which is obviously not completely true

### 1/5 — Terrible App and Terrible Product

*2020-02-17, version 3.1.3*

The Koogeek app works on it’s own but doesn’t connect to Google Home - the smart devices are always “not connected” and you can’t use any voice commands with it. Numerous other complaints have been filed on their website, customer support, and app reviews but Koogeek has never claimed any responsibility or tried to improve their app. Would never recommend to anyone. Would give 0/5 stars if possible.

### 1/5 — Plug not responding

*2020-01-16, version 3.1.3*

Had this app, and plug for maybe six months. Purchased 4 plugs, now one is not responding. Tried to do firmware update and I automatically got an error. Should a listen to others were saying that this product is junk. Also should’ve purchased the Apple units which I have a light switch produced by Apple and it works perfect. Old saying is true you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor do not buy this problem product.

### 2/5 — Simply doesn't work anymore.

*2019-12-31, version 3.1.3*

This worked fine for about a year, then, like the like other reviewers, I got the notice from Apple's Home app that a firmware update was needed for my Koogeek smart plug. But I couldn't update it because the app doesn't do anything. Launch the app and all I get is the splash screen and it just sits there with nothing but the Koogeek logo. But I could still control the plug with Siri. Then after a few weeks, the smart plug stopped working entirely. So now it's just a big waste of money. I guess I'll throw the smart plug away and go back to using the light switch on the wall. That always works.

### 1/5 — Is this company dead like all their products?

*2019-12-19, version 3.1.3*

I have about 12 Koogeek items in my apt. Not only I need to download two different apps to control them. They will stop responding to the app after awhile. They will work for awhile again after I pair them again. Now they just stop responding again after one time use. Does anyone have any luck with their tech support?

### 1/5 — Koogeek hardware is good..... koogeek apps are worthless junk

*2019-12-11, version 3.1.3*

I have lots of koogeek devices and they work as advertised with HomeKit no issues... the problem comes with the koogeek app, it tells me that my devices need updates but when you try to open the app it freezes on the opening splash screen and that’s as far as it gets.... it’s worthless junk..... FIX IT and I will revise my review, but until it gets fixed I cannot recommend koogeek !

### 1/5 — Firmware Update Mystery Solved

*2019-11-10, version 3.1.2*

It should not be so hard to identify if a firmware update is needs and then apply it with your app.

Firmware updates are the only reason I need your app yet it is a hidden feature buried under EACH DEVICE having to use the obscure counter intuitive Long Press function. Even worse, with 60 devices, how am I suppose to find the Koogeek ones without checking any possible device? Insane!

The more Koogeek items you own, the more you have to work to update firmware.

I didn’t sign up to be a corporate adminstrator of tiny computers.

You all need to bring this function to the front tabs (replace the product store) and have a shotgun “upgrade all Koogeek stuff” button.

How many people return the Koogeek gear because it doesn’t work right and could have been fixed with a firmware update that they could not find? I had to google “how to update Koogeek firmware”. That’s a hard fail for your app.

### 1/5 — Updates? What updates?

*2019-10-30, version 3.1.2*

HomeKit complaining Koogeek devices need updating. No clear way to do so. I should NOT have to search forums or contact support to figure out how to update these devices.

Why does the koogeek app mostly just duplicate Apple Home app or try to sell me more Koogeek products ???

Hardware works really really well. Software not so much.

### 2/5 — Never responds

*2019-10-02, version 3.1.1*

I have really quick WiFi, but the app never works cuz my devices always show as “not responding.” It’s annoying given the amount of times I restart the app and device.

### 1/5 — Beware > hardware & software > total junk!

*2019-09-19, version 3.1.0*

No worth my time leaving a extended review. Bout the Koogeeks biometric padlock, glitchy piece of junk, & this software to unlock it via Bluetooth obviously junk - always syncing never allows you to add product. Buy elsewhere, don’t waste your money or time

### 2/5 — With homekit useable

*2019-09-02, version 3.1.0*

Without homekit this app is full of glitches and terrible, i was used more than 25 koogeek devices and now i replace 23 with aqara because of zigbee
Because every time one or more devices not responding, i change my wifi router with very advance and expensive router just because of koogeek but no benefit , also a biggest glitch is their is not last state power option in app

### 1/5 — So bad

*2019-08-01, version 3.0.5*

i dont get it. when u need both life and home to link to Google？why P1 must use koogeek home and KWLP1 must use koogeek life？？Meanwhile，Google does not work with home app, I tried to link Koogeek home to google home, however, no response everytime. Google keeps saying linked, but I never see a switch pop out.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2019-05-20, version 3.0.4*

Useless products. Always in a 'no response' state. I bought a two-gang switch and a door sensor. Both are junk. Tried all troubleshooting steps, contacted via email too. It's beyond my return period so just threw them in the garbage. How does apple allow such developers to even ship products like these.

### 1/5 — Rarely works

*2019-03-27, version 3.0.4*

I have had this app for more than a year to control to electrical outlets , into which I plug lamps. For a while, the app worked as it should. But in the past six months, even with an update to the firmware, the outlets do not respond, and the app shows that the outlets are off-line. Everything is connected to the same network, so that isn’t the problem. I’ve reset the Koogeek devices, updated firmware, reinstalled the app, tried with Siri, tried with Alexa, tried with HomeKit, and still the outlets rarely work. The product support online stinks. I give up. Save your money and buy a different brand, as I am going to do.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App fails since iOS 15

*2022-02-18, version 3.1.7*

They say they respond to all emails. I’ve emailed them 6 times. I’ve gotten no response. Since the release of iOS 15 this app crashes immediately like a drunken driver all you see is the flash screen. Even deleted the app reinstalled. Still crashes like a drunk. Still no reply no app update seems like they don’t care if their items sell.

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2022-02-11, version 3.1.7*

No app updates in a year, and last update is “fix the bug”? I like their product but I can’t stand how the update available message never goes away in the HomeKit app. There is seemingly no way to update the device in the koogeek app.

### 1/5 — Do NOT buy their products

*2022-01-09, version 3.1.7*

It has been more than 3 years without a firmware update for HomeKit. The product fails several times. Do not expect a fix or improvement. Buy another brand, trash what you have from them.

### 1/5 — As if Koogeek abandoned Apple HomeKit

*2021-12-26, version 3.1.7*

Nothing but motivations to update Koogeek devices and no way to update. App doesn’t work on any of our io devices. Spent two months waiting for responses from support.

Word to the wise - stop purchasing Koogeek devices when they are not around to maintain or support.

### 1/5 — Junk!

*2021-11-04, version 3.1.7*

The app and smart outlets only work part of the time. It’s hard to set up and even simple things like changing the time that something operates is also challenging. Look for another product!

### 1/5 — Worst product I’ve ever purchased!

*2020-11-24, version 3.1.7*

I purchased a Koogeek Home wall switch to control my front porch lights and two Koogeek wall plug-in controls. All are crap. I don’t know how this organization had the nerve to even bring these products to market. The lights switch was especially a disappointment and I had to call an electrician to set it up, because the wiring didn’t match up to my brand new built home. Every few months there’s a brief power outage in my neighborhood due to the new construction. Every time I have to go through the set up process again to make this function properly. There are times when there appears to be no power outage (clocks haven’t stopped their digital time) and the unit just suddenly stops working. I purchased another light switch and will be switching it out very soon. I VERY STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS.

### 1/5 — Remove from Apple Store

*2020-11-01, version 3.1.5*

The App stopped working more than a year ago. They say updates are made but they are not to fix the app, simply to avoid Apple from kicking them out from the App store. I spent lots of money on they product and their customer support is non existent. As a typical Chinese company they deceit and lie about their products and quality. They should be reported to the App Store and should be kicked out.

### 1/5 — Stopped working right

*2020-09-10, version 3.1.5*

Shortly after I updated the Koogeek Home firmware it stopped responding sometimes it takes three or four taps of the fixture to get it to work and sometimes it doesn’t work at all. Everything was fine before the update now it’s just junk. The update ruined the outlet plugs. So disappointed

### 1/5 — Worked fine until the update...

*2020-07-31, version 3.1.4*

Got an updated saying that update is needed. But this update doesn’t do anything. This app gets stuck. Does go beyond the first screen. Thankfully my device was already connected to Apple Home, so I can turn things on and off using Apple Home. But I can’t get rid of the number on my Home icon which indicates that there’s “3” things needing updates because this update or app won’t do a thing. Everything was fine until this update. They broke something that wasn’t broken. Annoying.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money if you are using an IPhone

*2020-05-13, version 3.1.4*

The app installed on my iPhone has been calling for an update. When I follow the instructions to use the home app to update it’s a dead end.

If you are using an Apple IOS, stick with Apple Certified auxiliary devices. These guy don’t stay current with Apple.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy setup and management of Koogeek and 3rd party devices

*2019-02-17, version 3.0.2*

I was pleasantly surprised how easy and straight forward the device setup was (several Koogeek outlets)
The app then also allows to manage settings, scenes and automation for non-Koogeek devices.
Everything is reliable with short response times and no unresponsive devices.
Also firmware updates worked flawlessly.

Only confusing aspect: the app asks to accept the data privacy policy which you can deny and the app still works without functional limitations- but the dialogue screen keeps coming up repeatedly.

### 5/5 — Perfect!!

*2017-12-30, version 2.3.4*

Works great with all my Apple products!! It even has a timer and you can set up to turn your light on when you get home or off when you leave.

### 4/5 — No Problems, I’ve Been Using The Units For 4 Years

*2020-09-27, version 3.1.5*

I got a new modem last year and had a little trouble getting the units to connect. Then I realized that all I needed to do was temporarily move the units closer to the modem to accomplish the set up. I could then move the switch anywhere within range. Works perfectly every time. All that might be needed is a bit of patience. I love the switches and I’m adding more all the time!!

### 4/5 — Coupon app

*2019-03-25, version 3.0.4*

This app and hardware works. However. I am suspicious of companies that offer coupon apps. Especially those with low ratings.

### 4/5 — Need to add animation

*2018-07-29, version 2.4.9*

This is a great app other then a few features not working. It is very useful but I would love if animations could be added because I see no point in a colored light if it can’t flash. Please add animation.

### 4/5 — Apple TV should work as a hub

*2017-10-29, version 2.3.3*

Many of my other smart home apps use my Apple TV as a hub, so I can control the device from anywhere. This app should do the same! I don’t have a 2.4GHZ network, so I can’t set it up.

### 4/5 — Smart switch love !

*2017-10-06, version 2.3.1*

I’m using the 2gang smart switch and it’s great. Currently used on my bath room switch for the fan and light. I can take a shower and ask Siri to turn on the fan so it defogs or tell Siri to turn on my light when I use it for a night light. No connection problems. Simple hookup and looks great and feels like a solid product.

### 3/5 — Keeps logging me out

*2022-02-09, version 3.1.7*

Other than having to power cycle the plug about once every other month, my only other complaint is that the Koogeek app keeps requiring to log back in on a periodic basis. I thought maybe it had to do something with new versions of the app but the last app update is reported as 1y ago. It would be nice they would fix that.

### 3/5 — I am having the same error as others

*2019-12-04, version 3.1.2*

I am being told by my home kit there’s an update for Koogeek and to enter the app to update, only there is no update there. Outlet still works though, and works better than the Feit electric outdoor outlets I will be returning shortly.

### 3/5 — Siri works well

*2019-08-19, version 3.0.5*

I have 2 P3 plugs. They are solid with Siri. I can change the temp from C to F. Also I can not set the time zone or time. The app says I can tap on the time list and set these manually. But that doesn’t work. I like the plugs with Siri. But these 2 features are frustrating.
