### 3/5 — Pronunciation guide doesn’t work

*2022-05-08, version 20.0*

I just purchased the pronunciation assistance but it doesn’t work :/

### 2/5 — Déçu..

*2022-04-08, version 20.0*

Vous devez toujours payer pour les mots du jour, prononciation, etc ! Vraiment il y a des sites meilleurs pour apprendre le Coréen.

### 2/5 — ...?

*2020-12-08, version 20.0*

I wish you could listen to the pronunciation but you have to buy it

### 3/5 — Ads or pay

*2020-04-26, version 20.0*

So, to listen to pronunciation, you need to pay for watch ads. I’m spoiled to the chinese dictionary Pleco which lets you do a lot for free. There needs to be a Korean version and this is far from it. Also, this doesn’t translate phrases or sentences.

### 3/5 — Good dictionary but endless review begging

*2017-05-19, version 18.1*

Drives me nuts. You open it to look up a word, and instead get an advert for a completely unrelated language app, or a 'enjoying this? Leave a review!' bag interrupting your flow.

Please make it stop. I'm a paying customer.

### 4/5 — Needs to let us have all definitions

*2017-01-15, version 17.2*

Needs more definition and less ads

### 4/5 — 구매목록 삭제부탁드립니다~!!

*2016-04-04*

구매목록 삭제부탁드립니다~!!

### 4/5 — Good App

*2016-02-10, version 15.2*

Would you please check the Pro upgrade? Tried several times but failed. It says"currently unavailable". Thanks.

### 2/5 — Раздражающая реклама и агрессивная монетизация

*2015-02-20*

Приложением невозможно пользоваться, на каждый чих вышвыривает на встроенные покупки, рекламные баннеры на весь экран. В сторе есть куда более интересные решения.

### 4/5 — Nice.

*2013-12-27, version 9.4*

Very useful. The variety of meanings are nice and pronunciation's a plus.

### 2/5 — Please Help!

*2013-08-25, version 8.2*

This app was great up until I downloaded the 'translator' addition. now as soon as I open the app, it freezes and then crashes within 3-5 seconds every time. Nothing I do has helped. please fix this bug!!

### 4/5 — Best Korean dict out there

*2013-08-24, version 8.2*

Whilst still not perfect, it's the best iOS Korean dictionary I've found.
Useful Roman (romanji) and lots of handy features like word of the day (which you can turn off if you like - something I'm grateful for).

It's still not quite perfect with a few too many fancy animations and eye candy to make it quick and easy to use.

### 1/5 — Useless without pronunciation audio

*2013-06-18, version 8.2*

Korean is a language for which there must be pronunciation audio since the system the Koreans chose for transliteration using Latin characters is so very very bad. Without audio this a completely worthless app. I keep it in my museum of bad Korean technology as an example of how lame and yet arrogant Koreans often appear in anything requiring innovation or even just satisfying customer needs. As an expression of a Korean persona it only supports racism, even among Koreans. It makes it harder to learn the language of a culture that is historically (not) renowned for its willingness to understand and learn from others.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I am so frustrated

*2021-04-14, version 20.0*

I am so annoyed that I can’t listen to the words without paying for a membership this is ridiculous

### 1/5 — A rip-off.

*2018-10-30, version 20.0*

I would love to learn korean and it annoying that i can't hear how some phrases are pronounced i don't want to keep on using the dictionary i would love to know the words myself but i can't listen to them unless i watch 7 videos or pay them and listening and repeating is one of the steps of learning so this app isn't really useful if you want to learn korean, i hope it changes.

### 1/5 — Commercial app

*2018-10-30*

Impossible to use because permanent advertisements

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2017-07-26, version 19.1.3*

Paid money to have the Pronunciation activated but there's no sound coming from the app. 😡

### 1/5 — Disgusting ads

*2017-03-20, version 18.0*

Since last version the app plays intrusive autoplaying fullscreen ads that make it unusable.

### 1/5 — Cut down touch much.

*2015-08-22, version 13.1*

Free version cut down too much to make a good assessment if value for money.

### 1/5 — Scan mode doesn't work for Korean

*2015-05-10, version 11.4*

The scan by camera doesn't pick any Korean word.

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2014-09-05, version 9.8.1*

Allows a very, very short time to explore the application, loads links to pop-ups, and charges separately for different aspects of the dictionary. Dismal.

### 1/5 — Adds and in app purchase

*2014-06-30, version 9.7*

Not a good app don't get after typing in your first 2 word it pops up with ads terrible

### 1/5 — Search function does not work

*2013-10-21*

iPhone 4S. Search function does not work. Enter a word to search, gives you a random word you did not enter. What's the point of a dictionary app if you can't search for words?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Actually really like this App

*2024-11-16, version 20.0*

It does help me with my vocabulary and because i am working in sentence structure this helps me because I can earn more words and incorporate them into my sentences and my learning journey.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2024-06-14, version 20.0*

It’s easy to use and straightforward. Not like other apps w a hard to use interface or too much going on w the ui. You type something and it comes up, simple as that. Perfect!!!! Very helpful.

### 5/5 — Using this Application

*2017-07-01, version 18.1*

I find this very helpful in learning pronunciation for Korean words I am learning. Although it is not how words are used in common speech it allows me to practice the base pronunciation, I find this extremely helpful.

### 5/5 — Easy and dependable

*2014-01-26, version 9.5.1*

I am an native English speaker learning Korean. Naver and Daum are too difficult for me to use for looking up words. They also do not have pronunciation assistance for Korean words when using the English translation. This dictionary has the words I want to use in multiple formats, pronunciation assistance, and is the easiest most helpful app I found for understanding and pronouncing Korean words as a beginner in the Korean language.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2013-12-28, version 9.4*

Although it can be difficult to use at first but it's the best korean dictionary I've found. It's really useful for looking up words in both english and hangeul and really helped me in learning the language.

### 5/5 — Korean Dictionary
