However there are some options I wish it had. When you search a word, it can't be added to a study set. The other option which I wish it had was the ability to create and save additional flashcards I've been to a study set. If you can please add these two features I would gladly rate of five star. ### 4/5 — Solid *2012-11-23, version 2.5.0* Very good app. Still has mistakes in it. For example it teaches you that: 조개 means selfish Which is not correct. 조개 means shellfish. So when arguing with my Korean wife I called her a clam for eating all the kimchi. ### 3/5 — No official romanization *2012-10-01, version 2.3.0* Haven downloaded it yet but to tell all thoughs ppl complaining romanization here is a little fact bout korean there is NO official romanization. Also, if possible, then a repetition quiz would e good e.g. If the way you pronounce the word is wrong then the quiz won't proceed to the next question. ### 3/5 — Pretty good :) *2012-01-09, version 2.1.0* Great app. Awesome native speaker pronunciation. Ome thing that's bothering me is the romanization. It's not consistent in what they explain each letter's sound is e.g when they say 여섯, a way of romanizing is yeo-seot. Because 'ㅓ' is the 'eo' and the extra line on ㅕ is the 'y' to make it 'yeo'. When they write the romanizing, they do 'yeosut' which I think is to perfect the pronunciation of Korean, not both pronunciation and recognizing the words. Tis occurs with numerous words, which is annoying if you're like me and have learnt the letters and romanizing system already. Overall a good app for learning Korean words NOT sentences. The voices can get a little annoying if you use the audio feature, but not intolerable. ### 4/5 — Fine *2011-10-27, version 2.0.1* I think it's Gud but more words I wanted to learn hi and bye greetings at lease and conversation maybe if they do that more people will bye it ### 3/5 — Misspellings... *2011-07-24* It seems when romanizing the colors they misspelled the ㅐcharacter as "a" when it is officially romanized as "ae". This can cause confusion for people not familiar with korean hangul or romanization since you hear an "eh" sound and see an "a". I do not know how many other mistakes there are like this, so if you're are going to use this app, you might want to learn Hangul first, to prevent confusion created by misspelled romanizations. Otherwise, this is one of the more useful vocabulary building apps out there. The flashcard construction and quizzes are very nice. ### 3/5 — Old version is better! *2011-07-08* I more like the old version because it has one application that translates a whole paragraph or words to korean to english. I will have to search for a more intuitive study tool. Thanks accela study but you need a little more work! ### 3/5 — Crashes Often *2010-12-24, version 1.9.0* This app was working fine at first, but after I started using it more often it started crashing after only a few seconds of use. Now, everytime I use it it jist crashes. From what I have used of it though, the flashcards are extremely helpful and there are a lot pf study options that can be personalized to your liking. ### 3/5 — Botched numbers *2010-10-09* For a free app this is fairly good though I did notice that they botched the numbers. There are two ways to count in Korean: il, ee, sap, sah, oh; hana, deul, set, net, dahseot. They mixed these. It gives no instruction about common greetings. ### 1/5 — Nope. *2010-04-01, version 0* Pretty worthless ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2010-02-25, version 0* Totally missing essentials such as hello, please and thank you!! ### 2/5 — Chinese numbers?? *2012-12-13* The numbers, or at least many of them, are Chinese and not Korean. ### 2/5 — The audio bugs me. *2012-07-30* The audio is like a man that sounds like he's from the library and it's not pleasing at all. ### 2/5 — Beautiful but incorrect romanization *2011-07-09, version 2.0.1* This app is beautiful, with a great user interface, BUT, it is too frustrating to use because it does not use official romanization which I prefer and there is no option to change romanization between different schemes. Official romanization is consistent whereas this has words like White/백색 written as "baeksak" when it should be "baeksaek". It uses "oo" for "우" instead of "u" and uses "u" for "어" instead of "eo". This style was officially discontinued in South Korea, like, a decade ago. No Instructions *2013-06-17* The trial version is just a bunch of flash cards with no instructions. There is no way to tell if purchasing it will be any better. In short: this app is ghastly.
