I love this app but you can only use it as either standalone or as a gadget in Korg Gadget. Logic Pro, game-change. *2023-06-04, version 1.7.6* Lovely instruments, but now Logic Pro has dropped on iPad M1 and similar iPad Pro tablets it’s a watershed moment. It’s time Korg, if you won’t jump into Audio Unit creation commitment now with the advent of iPadOS Logic Pro ported over, I suppose you never will. I’m not going to do the whole ‘Gadget’ proprietary route now, this has firmed up due to Apple’s monumental democratisation of pro music this year. ### 2/5 — Headed to irrelevancy due to stubbornness *2023-06-01* Without AUv3 the Korg apps are going to remain awesome stand alone instruments but will never really be fully integrated with the many excellent DAWs in iOS. It sounds great and just needs the UI to be redone. It’s pretty hard to use with how it’s designed right now. Also maybe make a mode where you can just use the synth and not have all the groovebox stuff in the way which can get annoying, I just want the synth most of the time, groovebox is nice but when I just want the synth it gets in the way of me just creating sounds. ### 2/5 — Korg always leaves me hanging… *2022-03-07, version 1.7.3* Just got this and, I don’t know why I am surprised, but here I am, and this is another great example of a half baked product that the company obviously doesn’t care about maintaining. The interface is not clear and/or easy to figure out, the whole thing is rendering with obvious unintended overlap on the screen of my 2021 iPad Pro 11”, and the user manual does not even appear, when I select it in the menu. This really should be made illegal; if they don’t intend to keep supporting software in the future, a developer should be prevented from being able to sell it, unless there is a given and acknowledged disclaimer that the software will not be touched for maintenance updates. I’m giving it 2 stars because it sounds like it should, but missing 3 stars because the standalone version of the app no longer is functional as a compositional tool, because of obvious neglect by the devs at Korg. I feel VERY disappointed that I threw away $30 on this app. Thanks for nothing, Korg. 👎🏼👎🏼 ### 2/5 — Needs to be AUv3! *2020-10-13, version 1.7.3* Sorry but I don’t use Gadget and never will. It just doesn’t work for me. But your stand-alone synths are awesome and need to be AUv3! Put your iPad in an Alesis IOdock and connect a midi device. For example: MAudio keyboard etc. I am surprised they haven’t raised the price on this. The best time to catch it is during the holidays when apps normally go on sale. Sooooo many things you can do with Korg-ims 20 it’s a Great app. Perfect if your a creative person. ### 4/5 — Needs Import/export presets & Ableton Link. *2019-04-18, version 1.7.1* Given that we can save our own presets on our iPads, it seems odd to have no way to share these with each other, or to backup these presets individually onto our desktop computers when syncing via iTunes. Need to be able to share projects too. This was possible before. Ableton link is essential too! Please add this functionality. This app doesn’t really serve much of a purpose for serious music making. ### 1/5 — Great sound but practically useless *2024-11-20, version 1.7.6* I have had this app for years and in 2024 it still (unlike the iM1 app) can't be used in Cubasis. ### 1/5 — Not worth it at all *2023-11-12, version 1.7.6* The tempo knob, is not accurate at all, and there’s no way to manually put the tempo in. Massive short coming when you can have a keyboard raise up on your iPad. I bought this 5-6 yrs ago and I'm still finding ways to build new awesome synth presets. I may never be able to afford an original tactile analog synth, but this is great compensation. I haven't seen anything like it in the App Store since. There are other VSTs out there, but this one gives the biggest bang for the buck. It has: MIDI drum sequencer (5 drum voices) a mixer 16 song pads to mix in song mode it has dual oscillators it has patches envelop filters 2 Assignable KORG KAOOS touch pads ### 5/5 — I was afraid of this! *2024-04-23, version 1.7.6* Stop reading and buy this synth now! Simply amazing. 90 seconds into playing around with the synth blew me away, the sound, the layout, the functionality of everything is right at your fingertips. It draws you in and makes you want to explore. The built in sequencer forces you into places you wouldn’t normally go but the unexpected results are a plus. Bundled with a drum machine too (basically another 6 MS-20s) and some FXs make this a powerful workstation. Only downer is it’s lack of connectivity, the main synth and drum machine ported to AUv3 and the sequencer as a midiAU would be synth heaven. And the tempo knob, for the sake of sanity let us type in a tempo, with the knob it’s impossible to set an accurate tempo. ### 5/5 — Amazing synth a MUST buy! *2020-10-13, version 1.7.3* There’s nothing quite like it on the app store.
