## What is KORTEK?

Rereading works — for about five minutes. A week later, the students who had tested themselves recalled 61% of the ideas from the text; those who had only reread recalled 40% (Roediger & Karpicke, Psychological Science, 2006). KORTEK tests you, one moment before you forget.

Tell KORTEK what you want to learn. Anything: science, history, languages, finance, law, music theory. It writes a short lesson for you, checks what stuck with a quick quiz, then schedules the exact moments to bring it back.

WHAT YOU GET
• A daily session, already planned — a few reviews, one new idea, about 15 minutes
• Memory Score: see what is actually holding in your head, and what is fading
• Exam mode: give it a date, it builds the plan backwards from your test
• Turn your own notes into lessons: photograph a page
• An on-demand tutor: stuck on something? It explains at your level
• A league that rewards consistency, nothing else

WHY IT WORKS
Spaced repetition is one of the most studied effects in memory science. Reviewing at increasing intervals — one day, three days, a week, a month — keeps knowledge alive with a fraction of the effort of cramming. KORTEK does the scheduling for you.

Five minutes one day, fifteen the next. What matters is coming back.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-02

• Teacher access activation now explains what happened when it fails, and what to do next.
• Text fixes.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-22

New: homework in KORTEK Class.

• Teachers: pick one of your lessons, review it, edit the questions, set a due date with the calendar, and send it to your class. See who handed it in, each student's score and the most-missed questions, and nudge those who haven't handed it in yet.
• Students: your homework waits for you on the home screen, a notification lets you know, and you can even do it offline: it's sent automatically once you're back online.
• Free teacher access with your school's code.
• The App Store now shows the app's correct languages.
• Many reliability improvements.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-17

New: KORTEK Class. A teacher opens a class, writes a code on the board, and sees what their students actually retain — who is working, what is overdue, and the topics where the class is stuck. They can also send one of their own lessons: each student adds it to their reviews in one tap, and the cards belong to them.

A teacher never sees a student's email address, nickname, or the content of their personal lessons. In the Class tab, the student reads exactly what their teacher sees about them — and the list of what never leaves their account.

Improved: the Class tab only appears for members of a class. The app is unchanged for everyone else.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-15

New: the Family plan. Up to 6 people, each with their own progress, lessons and reviews.

Fixed: password reset by email.

Improved: challenges and shared links now point to kortek.app.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-11

This update fixes details reported in everyday use:

• Camera and photo permission prompts now show the app's correct name.
• The sign-up screen no longer offers to save an empty progress.
• The sign-up prompt appears right away, with no pointless wait.
• KORTEK is now listed as available in 10 languages.
