## What is Kottabos?

Kottabos brings the ancient Greek symposium to your pocket — part interactive
history lesson, part skill game.

Kottabos (κότταβος) was the favourite game of the Greek drinking party: guests
flicked the last drops of wine from their cups at a balanced target, calling out
names and omens. This app teaches you the real history — drawn from ancient
writers like Pollux and Athenaeus — and lets you play a modern take on it.

LEARN
• Illustrated topics on the game's history, apparatus, and technique
• A glossary of Greek terms, with transliterations and meanings
• Honest about what the sources do and don't tell us

PLAY
• Flick your cup at the target in two modes: topple the bronze disk on the pole,
  or sink the floating saucers
• Practise solo, or play against a bot

VERSUS — live multiplayer
• Create a private room and challenge friends, or quick-match an open room
• First to 5 hits wins; chat with your opponents at the table
